PI, I'm even newer here than you are and I didn't really play with you since you replaced out shortly after I replaced in .... but reading through this thread I can totally see why there was such frustration with you. If you truly look at your own behavior, your answers, your posts, I think you could figure out why some players' frustration level got to where it did with you. Instead of blaming everybody else for their reactions, ask yourself why they reacted that way.
As scum, it was fine with me that you gave up, it helped us win the game for sure. But, as a townie I would have wanted to yell at you, too. If you don't analyze what you did wrong in this game instead of blaming everyone else, you're probably going to have the same issues in your next game.- Miss JJ

Also, I've had my posts "attacked" if you want to call it that by veteran players. When that happens, I try to look at what I'm doing and try to figure out how I can improve in future games. I could just get defensive and replace out or I could stay, take the heat and try to explain myself better. It's the only way I'm going to learn.
Try to take that attitude and use this opportunity to ask questions about why some of your posts received the reaction they did so you can be more successful next time. I think the community here would like to help so use post-game to learn instead of blame.- Elfen

PI, in the Scummies thread, wrote:Nominate Scum Group in Newbie 1101 (sanchocolates and Miss_JJ), as sanchocolates was recognized as scum by only one person, and Miss_JJ was not suspected of being scum until Day 3. (This would also go out to dk_peace, as he was replaced by Miss_JJ.)
First off, no. dk_peace replaced out, he gets no fucking credit for this game.
Second off, this is not a good nomination. Not saying sancho & JJ didn't do their part, because they did, but there was no fantastic scum play here. Town was full of morons who basically handed the game to scum - namely Oswald and yourself.
Third off, you want to complain about everyone being harsh to you… it's a game. Stop taking it so damn personally. And if that many people are saying there's a serious problem with your play, then maybe you should stop whining about people being harsh, and instead turn around and look at your play and go "Hmm, maybe people are right."
This game was riddled with bad play on the town side. Oswald deserved that lynch the first day. Lynching the cop on D2 was bad -- but cjdrum's play was even worse. I can't blame Grimm & Incognito for wanting him lynched. And finally, there were three likely scum on the final day: PersonalIdiot, JJ, and sancho. The fact of the matter wasn't that sancho & JJ were particularly town-looking, it's that PersonalIdiot played so off-the-wall and all over the place that his lynch was inevitable. I really wish PersonalIdiot had replaced out earlier so ABR could've come in here and redeemed that slot.
Regarding the whole SE/IC thing: I won't call any names out specifically, but I see players entering the IC/SE queue that really, really shouldn't be. They are not good players, and for a newbie to have that as their first game experience… well, it sets them on the wrong path. Of course, there's no kind of "SE review system" in place, so there's really nothing we can do about that. This is why I have started playing in more newbie games -- because at least if someone gets a SE like [redacted] or [redacted], I can try to stop them on that. I'm not calling myself a good player, but there are players far far worse than me who should not be in a position of teacher-ship over people playing the game for the first time.
And on that note, I'll stop following this thread now. I wish you all luck in your future games, but take a good hard look at this game and realize why town basically threw the game away thanks to shitty play.green shirt thursdays- Ranmaru

While I don't exactly agree with PI's statement here, either, you can't just say the loss was completely due to Oswald, PI, cjdrum as bad townplay.
Come on, Sancho wasn't believed to be scum by Voided or Incognito so, even if I were lynched I could see him winning it on Day 4. And, contrary to the bolded statement above, Sancho was incredibly town looking. That's exactly why he was completely left out of the possible scum equation by Incog and Voided agreed. Grimmjow said he thought we were scum but he did nothing to push that idea. Nothing.
Yes, I got lucky with PI replacing out but I also used it to our advantage as well as pointing out that a JJ/Grimmjow scumteam was not plausible in order to get Incog to vote PI.
The point is we played the hand we were dealt and did what we needed to do. I give ahugeamount of credit to Sancho for putting himself in the position he was in when I entered the game so we could win. Please don't try to diminish that.- sanchocolates

@Reckoner: Yeah, I could understand how this game might haveseemedfairly easy to you, but I strongly believe that's only because you knew Grimmjow's alignment. From my perspective, Grimmjow didn't look particularly town (mostly because he was fairly lurky during Day 1), which in actuality made the D3 lynch decision not down to 3 people but actually 4 since it was really {PI, MissJJ, sanchocolates, Grimmjow}.
And I disagree about this too. cjdrum's claim looked pretty obviously fake and now I know exactly why: he didn't evenxRECKONERx wrote:Lynching the cop on D2 was bad -- but cjdrum's play was even worse.knowhe was a Cop until Day 2. I'd support that lynch again if I could.
Lastly, while I don't think the scum in this game deserve a Best Performance Scum award since this is a Newbie Game, I do think sanchocolates could be a decent contender for a Best Newbie award. My only reservation against nomming him though is the modkill he got in his first game, which kind of tarnishes the nom.[ooc][color=black]patrickgower2006 (8:12:03 PM): all beer tastes same to me

I don't get this. Didn't he say he forgot to submit a nite action? Also, if he didn't know he was cop, how did he know he was essentially town aligned? (And prolly a regular townie)- Incognito

You haven't read the whole game so that's probably why none of this makes sense to you.
Basically, on Day 1, cjdrum FORGOT he was a Cop. He reached L-1 on Day 1 and said this:
The above is NOT the kind of thing I'd expect a Cop to say largely because a Cop wouldn't EXPECT to get lynched on Day 1 since they'd have their claim to fall back on if they reached an L-1 point and were expected to claim. What he said there is what I'd expect from a Vanilla (and clearly, since he FORGOT he was a Cop on Day 1, that's exactly why what he said above seemed so Vanilla Town-ish -- HE THOUGHT HE WAS VANILLA AT THAT POINT).cjdrum wrote:But, if I get lynched before I can respond, I'd like to mention Incognito's "herding" of people onto my wagon - making it seem like the Towniest thing to do, congratulating votes on me, etc.
I just wanted to say, just in case somebody hammers me without thinking...
So when he reached L-1 yet again this time on Day 2 and claimed Cop with an innocent on Voidedmafia, his claim didn't make sense for two reasons: 1) the thing he said on Day 1 seemed VT-ish, which made his Day 2 claim look really really fake and 2) the person he claimed to investigate didn't make sense either since one would have expected him to investigatemeinstead of Voidedmafia (since he claimed he was most suspicious of me), which further made his claim look fake.
That's why I disagree with Reckoner when he says lynching the claimed Cop was a bad idea. He looked like fake-claiming scum (and he practically WAS since he forgot he was a Cop on D1 and was trying to put forth some damage control by claiming the way he did on Day 2), so I think we did the correct thing by lynching him.[ooc][color=black]patrickgower2006 (8:12:03 PM): all beer tastes same to me

Ah I see. Yeah, he would have been a distraction. I do like his improvision because, he knew that if he came straight out, that he'd still be lynched. Although it actually was very risky, this was not something he could envision. But yeah him suspecting you and targetting someone else, is also odd. (He just didn't know it would be better to tell the truth then to try to act normal, which scum want to do)
Honestly, if someone said that they forgot they were the cop, I'd think "Well he's a newb" but then I wouldn't be able to believe it %100.
Although hopefully everyone learns from his mistake, and him too.
Also I think he just gained experience in fake claiming, so that would help him as scum later on.- Incognito

Uh, if he admitted he forgot he was a Cop, I think I'd have beenmorelikely to believe him since it would have better explained why he did what he did during Day 1 when he was at L-1.
His improvisation was not good play. I'm surprised you're actually a fan of it.[ooc][color=black]patrickgower2006 (8:12:03 PM): all beer tastes same to me
