Why's that interesting? Do you consider it scummy on Mastin's part? Do you think there's a contradiction there?

Maybe not a contradiction per se, but I find it disconcerting that he came out of the gate with me as his #1 scumread (when literally no one else has me as their #1 right now) w/out explaining why, and then proceeds to switch from me to MY #1, without really explaining why, either. But I'm also learning that Mastin is harder for me to read than I once thought. I want to see how you and him interact some more, I'm not quite sure yet what to make of your suspicions of the WK wagon and his suspicions of you because of your suspicions of the WK wagon, if that makes sense.

Here is my last game, where I was town.
I've actually never been scum on this site; and I play Mafia-themed games infrequently enough that the last time I was scum on a different site was not terribly recent (maybe a year ago or so).

To be honest, I AM pretty unsure of what I'm doing. I'm accusing Secret Project of trying to pickup small mistakes and blowing them out of proportion. I guess it's not entirely AtE, then, but it is damn right an annoyance. Secret Project, time to remember Mafia is a GAME and we are here to have FUN. Nothing else. There is nothing you can accomplish by making a fool of yourself.

I think I'd be okay with a Krew lynch at this point, based on the way he didn't let jily go in their exchange earlier and now has kind disappeared under pressure. I won't vote just yet, but that's something that I see a lot out of scum, at least when playing IRL (which is largely my base in playing mafia).

Also, getting town vibes from mastin since he joined and the way he's handling the current wagon. Is stating town-reads encouraged? I've always used them to much success and benefit to the town, but I kinda want to know other peoples' views on them

I have no issue with them and have been shouting 'em out just as much as--if not MORE than--my scumreads. Some disagree. The disagreement mainly seems to stem from Newbie Games--I've never heard people give the reasoning outside of newbie games, other than "...I heard you weren't supposed to do it. (In a Newbie Game.)"

I think--not sure--that it stems from the belief that it makes scum's kill targets easier to select. With the typical roles in there (Doctor, cop, etc.), the results are predictable. Add to that the small game size, and giving the scum your townreads can be quite harmful.

So (I think) the theory goes.

While maybe applicable in Newbie Games--both due to their small size AND semi-open setup--I don't think it really holds up in larger games. I've also heard counter-arguments along the lines of, "Well, then, if we shouldn't give our town-reads, we also shouldn't give our scumreads, since--while admittedly a little bit harder--the scum can still figure out who NOT to kill from it and deduce good kill options! Yeah, right, like we'll stop giving scumreads." More or less. That's probably not the BEST way to word the counter-argument, but it's the first way I thought of. Additionally, I've personally found it quite pointless NOT to give the reads, since it really doesn't matter that much.

'Course, I'm far from an expert on these matters. It's more of an MD subject.

AtE is overused.

To answer, AtE is "Appeal to Emotion". I don't remember the exact fallacy, but essentially (this is from memory so might not be fully accurate--I personally don't believe in AtE so it's not a definition I care to memorize) it's arguing to others' emotions, to try and make them sympathize with you and get on your good side, effectively.

Someone else who actually believes in AtE might be better at explaining it.

I can literally say you're doing the same thing with Ironhead -- defense against lots of suspicion. If I see an awful wagon I will say it is an awful wagon. And I'd rather you spend your time on explaining your reads instead of lousy conspiracy theories.

So I was at work and I realized that all my top scumreads contradict each other. I realized I've been assuming a 3-player scum team but even with town PRs that'd be pretty scum-sided. If krew is scum, alex is the other scum. If Ironhead is scum it could still be alex but besides that I have no info to go on.

I liked Mastin a lot more when he would actually explain his reads, however long it took him to do so.

PEdit: Yes, typically hydras communicate in their own QT outside of the game thread. I personally enjoy hydra-ing, but I know a lot of players here don't like playing in games with 'em.

They can be a pain to play with just because it's impossible to actually seem like one person and that makes it harder to read them but being in one is quite fun so far. We haven't argued really about anything.

First off, sorry for disappearing! I was traveling, but I have no idea why ear hasn't posted. I'm currently trying to get him to be more active, but you're stuck with me for now
So, a couple things.
1. I don't like what mastin is doing. He just comes in and takes charge. Please, get us that evidence you keep promising us. I will not follow you unless you build a proper case, and neither should anybody else.
2. Secret Project:
Use your QT more please. I don't like watching the two heads converse in thread, it just adds garbage to sift through later.
