Just putting this out there, it doesn't seem likely that the papers would be given to scum, because the scum would obviously never give them up, defeating the purpose of them. If scum could have them at the beginning, I think that some transferral system would be put in place upon the scum's death, but that doesn't seem very likely either.
Or maybe there's a role specific to the paper.
What does everyone think about this?

SK, I have no idea. I speculated a bit in my last post, but nothing solid.

And this is why I shouldn't be killed tonight. I have important paper, if I die, who knows what will happen to it. I realize this is a scummy move, but this is another thing that makes me think that scum would not start with the paper - they could use it to get out of dieing very easily, making them pretty OP.

Btw, any of you doubting the papers existance need to think twice - there are two independant sources verifying the paper's existance.

I think the whole discussion about "papers" is stupid. I think the doublevoter claim should/might be enough to get you through the night so I don't think there was any reason to interject this other factor...assuming it is true.

It's trading a sure Town kill and an unknown second kill for a no kill and a sure Town kill, and it puts suspicion on the Night Executioner. I haven't thought this through but I'm pretty sure there are situations where this is a tactical advantage.

Your logic is borked.

A no-kill doesn’t put suspicion on the Night Executioner but rather their target since your premise is working of the theoretical scum Role-blocker. It would in-fact 'clear' the Night Executioner.

Sure there MIGHT be a situation where it is a tactical advantage. But in general scum need to rack up body count in the early game. Passing over a free Town kill that is not on their hands isn’t optimal play early in the game.

Since I think scum won't be able to get their choice for Night Executioner through without at least one or two townies also voting for their candidate, we know that a player which has no or just one claimed vote(s) on him wasn't the Executioner. Since most town players are going to go for you anyway, this should reduce the field of potential executioners to less than half of the players, and players which claimed to have placed the only vote on some player are subject to extra scrutiny.

Unless 7 of the 9 possible Town (8 if we kill Town today since Town can’t vote for themselves overnight), or 6 with claimed Double-Voter Captain in the mix, then Town cannot be guaranteed to have the Night Execution.

Now if Cod is Mafia then the pressure on that end drops significantly.

To answer a few points of MoI's post... (on a mobile)
I couldn't drop a vote. You seem to have "forgotten" I was V/LA.
I dropped a huge tell to everyone with papers just after I got back, and my actual claim came 5 posts or so later.
I will not pass away my paper tonight. This I am adamant about. If I die, the paper goes with me.
I WAS SPECULATING ON THE SETUP. I'M JUST GUESSING.
You say my play has been bad. I agree.

P-EDIT: I have been on the site for a while, but only started playing a month or two ago. No other mafia experience. In my time here I've heard many appeals, but not AtF.


Also, if I am scum, as you say, and there is a scum roleblocker, things are not looking good for tonight.

Also, if you think I'm scummy due to bad play, take a look at some of my other games. Almost lynched D1 (then I replaced out), in another lynched D1, in another put at L-1. In fact, my first game was my best because everyone attributed my scumminess to newbiness.
