Why do you have a janitor?

Also, the only thing the Watcher can watch is mafia and the vig. So if he sees anyone target anyone else then he's got either a vig or scum. Good odds for him.

Which is a ridiculous move.
Scum wouldn't SHOOT a BP because the same effect doesn't work at night.
So by scum shooting someone they prove the other person as TRUE BP.

THE POINT: If your game has to have a Janitor to balance the scum and/or allow them to safeclaim then you need another solution. Janitor is NOT a solution to the problem.

Could we get some Smalltown or Pick your Power games that have been run in the past (such as the one that was run in Team Mafia) and approve them for the Open Queue?

I don't see any reason why not to, as they're presumably all balanced already and they are completely open. I'm sure there would be people willing to play them.

(The wiki articles [PyP|Smalltown] have a list of some past examples.)

Nominate: Chosen


I'm not sure what version is most balanced, but popular opinion seemed balanced around the last run version:

2 mafia
7 townies (2 of whom are Chosen, and are not told of their selection)

Pre-game, the mafia submit 1 townie's name. 2 of the remaining 6 townies are randomly selected to be the Chosen.
The mafia are told who was selected, but the Chosen are not. As long as
both
of the Chosen are alive, they are NK-immune and can't be endgamed, so the mafia need to lynch at least one of them before endgame or the mafia lose (in other words, 1 or 2 mafia vs. 2 Chosen is a town win).

There are some reasonable policies that are necessary to avoid the game being broken. For instance, town can't be allowed to No Lynch indefinitely. Self-votes might count as double-votes to help reduce endgame deadlock(?)

(to give credit: core concept was by Ether, these numbers came from Incognito's game)

1) According to all the previous runs, they flip Townie.

2) That's correct.

They flip as Chosen.

I don't think a Chosen has been lynched in any previous run. (In the first two, there was only one Chosen.)

The mafia does not need to lynch both of the Chosen Ones to win the game; they only need to lynch one of the two and of course need to satisfy the remainder of their win condition as well. Once one of the two Chosens is lynched, the second Chosen will revert into the equivalent of a Normal Townie and CAN be NK-ed if the mafia wishes to do so.
This second Chosen One will still reveal as a "Chosen One" upon death, however.

Note: Unlike Immunity Mafia all mafia are of a single faction.

I don't really know if the number of VTs in Pirate Ninja is good or if I should add two more, or add a Vig. As for Powermad, it's probably extremely swingy, but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks.

EDIT: Gave PNTU a 50% chance of a universal backup appearing for gambit and paranoia goodness.

I like the first one, but not really the second one. The Power Mad doesn't seem to have a setup-novelty to it.

For the first one, I think two more VTs may be a good idea, but a vig seems a little powerful. Seems a little scum-sided as-is considering all town PRs are only half-power. I could be wrong, though, so don't change it yet.

Weird, I thought that if Power Mad had anything going for it, it was the novelty of the two major decisions the scum team has to make, what they want to be immune to and who they should protect. Plus the PRs and the mafia are practically mirrored.

As for PNTU, what about adding a Reporter or JK? Or having a 50% chance of either one?

The watcher/tracker take the place of the reporter and the doc/jailkeeper take the place of the JK. I think adding either of those would be redundant.

I'm not sure but I know that 10-3 is balanced (usually) so 14-4 might actually be just fine as it is. Would a Universal Backup be too powerful?

Universal backup might work as a less swingy alternative to a vig for pirate ninja. It also solves the problem of making all of the roles useless if just two of the right power roles are killed. I'll edit it in.

My Unnamed Setup idea.

Prolly will be shot down but oh well...

10:3

All VTs are SEERs

Night start

Maf kills, KILL DOESN'T FLIP. The dead then communicates with the town as day starts but can only post once every 24 hours.

After the lynch WHICH DOESN'T FLIP Twilight happens and people send in their choices on whom out of the dead to talk to. First come first serve. Dead can freely commune in dead QT and with there "Neighbors" for that night.

D2 the dead can't talk, not enough people for the seance.

kills or lynch don't flip until the 2nd maf is killed. He flips and the town has a one shot investigate ability which they can use on one dead person. they MUST decide as a group on whom to use it on.

Twilight/N2 happens same as before.

Continue until winner.

As i type it out I note a change that could happen. the investigation could prolly happen every day after the second maf but ALWAYS before the lynch.
