It's odd, i got to a point where i felt i had 'skilled up' as others had explained it and now it feels like that skill up has gone and i've actually gone back further.
Even on my main character (trist) i'm having no luck, a semi-decent game will lead me to a 1:1 ratio in kills, the odd game where i play well will see me do much more but these are getting rare. On poppy i'm generally going 1:1 aswell. I fluctuate between being far too defensive and far too aggressive, a lot of the aggressive and risky plays i was succeeding with previously i can't seem to pull off at all anymore and usually result in my death.
I'm actually getting really quite frustrated since i KNOW that i can and have played better I don't know what's causing it or the best way to get out of it at all.
Do i just focus on my main character a while and try to get it to sink back in? Previously i played only tristana, did well as her most of the time and then tried a bit of poppy, whom to begin with i absolutely destroyed people as. I think playing some Soraka has contributed to this, since the last 2 days i've been playing her a fair amount but i'm not sure. I'm starting to think about making a smurf, relearning from the bottom if you will but i'm not sure how beneficial playing against lower level players will be?
If you have been using LoLReplay, I could go over a couple games with you if you want. My first guess would be that you are trying things that don't work against the champion you're fighting against, or picking the wrong champion for the job.
Okay, last night was kinda awesome. I played around with Garen some more, messed around with Nunu a bit (and that was the one game we lost), and I played Miss Fortune. I really like Garen, even if I felt like my build last night was far less awesome than the one I did earlier in the day. I'm learning the basics of last hitting and how far to push out safely and when to switch lanes, but I still need a lot more work.
I think I want to try the basics a bit more today, then maybe try either Jungling or using an AP/AD Carry.

There's a new DotA game out that was demoed at PAX... Smite.
It's "improvement"... a first-person perspective with line of sight.
I didn't get to play any of it due to the massive lines, but it seems like it does more harm than good to strategy; yeah, ganks are better, but I saw most people doing the standard FPS twitch spin every 2 seconds to see if someone was sneaking up behind them.
Gah, you don't realize how much of a time sink LoL is until you have other things to do. I always prefer LoL socially in the summer but when school starts I yearn for the short games of BLC...
