I love watching a Yi pull his ult as singed.

Yes Pheonix is a faster general clear but A) its ganks are worse and B) once you have a razors Tiger lets you clear the objectives very quickly, Tiger also scales much better as you itemize. Also opening Tiger means you don't need to waste points getting it later which allows for a faster bear / turtle max.

The new rotation this week features half champions I already own and half champions I really had no interest in playing...
Can someone give me a list of like the top 3-5 junglers in the game? I really wanna get better at jungling. Also, any basic tips would be great... such as how to sustain health, when to leave the jungle and start laning, when you can take down dragon/baron, etc.

The ganks aren't worse if you do it right. Having a lot of extra AoE damage in front of you every 3 attacks is quite a big deal. You simply need to position properly. You are able to get that extra damage a lot more easily than with tiger, have the waves constantly doing damage as well, and the damage only gets filtered through magic resistance once.
Madred's Razors is mostly an invalid argument since it's all luck whether you get the proc 5 times in a row (best case) or don't ever get it in a 15 minute time spam (far beyond worst case). Phoenix scales very well if you get a Gunblade and some sort of attack speed item (Wits End imo). It also allows you to get a Void Staff without sacrificing straight damage, which Tigerdyr has to assess whether having an item dedicated to pure penetration is worth it (since tiger proc IS magic damage...).
I don't get points in Tiger until 16-18.

Why is AoE important in a gank? Not entirely; in a duo lane, it can be the difference between getting a single kill and both laners
Tiger Proc is a DoT, you only need to hit them once to apply it, how is phoenix easier to deal damage with? The same way you auto attack with Tiger after you apply the DoT; it's not much different
What do you mean by "the damage only gets filtered through magic resistance once"?Udyr's Tiger Stance is a DoT, meaning that MR gets factored every tick. Phoenixdyr only has the nuke apply to MR once.
Madred's Razors is mostly an invalid argument since it's all luck whether you get the proc 5 times in a row (best case) or don't ever get it in a 15 minute time spam
Tiger gives tons of attack speed, Madreds in an 15% on hit proc. More hits, more procs.
Disregarding luck, you are correct here. This is probably the only real disadvantage Phoenixdyr has to Tigerdyr.
It also allows you to get a Void Staff without sacrificing straight damage
How the hell are you rich enough to get tanky, get your wriggles and afford items like gunblades and void staffs, you're a jungler.
Junglers need farm like any other champion. Udyr, Gangplank, and Nocturne need lots of gold to be effective. Being a good jungle-carry requires that you are able to farm as a jungler. It's not rare for me to be second or third to hit 100 creeps as Nocturne, and he has a harder time in the jungle than Udyr does.

You're severely weakening your ability to take objectives (Buffs, Dragons and Towers) this way, I don't see what P.Stances gives that makes it worth that trade off as taking those are a large part of your as a jungler, getting farmed up by stealing XP / Gold from your lanes via AoE spam is counter productive.

you don't start laning as a jungler, you continue jungling until the laning phase is over, ganking to ensure that your side wins the lanes (learning when to gank and how to do so is the single most important skill a jungler can have; a jungler that isn't ganking isn't a threat to the enemy team, and a jungler that's continually trying to gank and failing is a laughingstock)
the 3 best junglers in the game right now are lee sin (fast jungle, great utility, pretty damn good damage), nocturne (by far the scariest ganks in the game once he hits 6 if not just for the psychological "oh god where's the nocturne going" factor when he ults, more utility than lee sin but not as much damage, can split push like a boss), and gangplank (has a scary level 2 gank, a qss on an 18-sec cd, parrrley procs on-hit effects so it's like a stronger and more spammable nunu ice ball if gp has red)
the 3 easiest junglers to use are probably warwick, nunu, and udyr

Yeah, I've been using Warwick. I was going to try out Nunu but then I read a bunch of shit about how he's worthless as a jungler without runes, which I obviously don't have. I have Udyr but his character style is intimidating for me (with the different stances).
My thing with Warwick is that he's not exactly a great ganker until level 6... I actually tried fucking around with Lee Sin, but I couldn't survive past the first creeps
Whenabouts can I solo dragon?
I know ganks are important but that's going to come with practice and is also very situational based on enemy positioning, right?
↑ xRECKONERx wrote:@MoS: Is that list of junglers only if you have proper runes/masteries? Like, Warwick was fine and easy to use in jungle without a bunch of runes/masteries, but I tried Lee Sin and got pwned.
