Took alot of self control not to get angry at them. Instead I just kept my head down. Ignored all their insults and turned what would have been a loss into a win with 1.5K crit GP.

Talon is fucking beastly. Hard to gank, lots of poke and burst. E---->literally cast all your other shit at the same time.---->ignite if needed to finish the job.

You should practice both. Lane control in this game involves getting all your goldz while making it very difficult for your opponent to get his goldz. Because you can't deny, you need to be able to body zone and abuse range differences, bushes, good harass trades etc.

The stronger your lane control is, the easier time you'll have carrying a game. Getting farmed is great, but carrying in dota often involves getting heavily farmed while also shutting down the opposing side of the lane.

Riven has very, very strong AD scaling close to the level of Lee Sin. She lacks Lee's high base damage, but she can quickly become a source of midgame burst through cheap AD purchases like Brutalizer. Unfortunately, she lacks any built-in sustain and NEEDS to farm expensive AD items to be effective throughout the game. Her necessity for prolonged lane presence means a Brutalizer is bad vs. sustain top lane meta. I've been getting an early wriggles as a cheap (~1300) solution to her farming needs, but I think more elegant solutions are possible.

She can build very glass cannon+qss for hella burst behind a strong aoe initiator, like Galio/Amu/Ali. She can also play the role of initiator sporting a timely wriggles, frozen mallet, tenacity/resist item.

Her items vary wildly based what you need to be doing in teamfights and the stuff on the opposing team. Although her AD scaling is super baller, she lacks Lee Sin's w and defensive steroids. She benefits from moderate amounts of attack speed and cdr to increase the rhythm at which her passive triggers.

The 1:1 ad->hp on her shield is an interesting defensive mechanism. Theoretically, I think she can build a lot of AD and appropriate resists to stay in fights (vs. the dumb OMG HEALTH POOL+ATMAS type of meta). I'm going to try lots of bf swords and vests and cloaks tomorrow. Will report back.

Maybe instead of a wriggles, just grab a vamp scepter, with plans to eventually turn it into a bloodthirster. I'm sure trinity force has to do something nice with her with the chance to get so many procs, but it seems like she needs a ton of ad to do well.

1. Don't Die
2. Farm is far, FAR more important than anything else.
3. Always stay in position.

so, what are the opinions on the other tenacity items now that they equal merc treads. Is it still better to just get merc treads to keep your cc reduction with your boots?

It's as much the other bonuses as the Tenacity itself.

MR/MS || Health/Mana Regen || AP || AS/Crit

I still prefer to keep it w/ the boots though.

I sometimes get the philo upgrade if I need ninja tabi on my tank. Cloak and Dagger is a decent choice on something like Tris who is a ranged carry that sometimes likes to get in the thick. Moonflare is just plain bad though.

I'll get the upgraded Philo if I need some other form of boots and still need the tenacity. Usually on builds where I use lucidity boots and still have a decently long cooldown on my escape, like GP.

I took it on Nasus one game because my team was doing so bad that I had to get mobility boots in order roam fast enough to keep the lanes from failing. That was fun (not really).

once you get more experience with items and whatnot you can tweak it to suit the needs of a specific game but that's a pretty good basic build
