I don't think Poppy's broken. It's just that Twisted Treeline is alot more closed in than Summoner's Rift, so therefore Poppy has more walls to charge you into. : D

THe only thing keeping poppy in check on summoner's rift is her laning phase.

And that shouldn't pose a problem to the general TT player. I mean, poppy's favorite target is unplayable on TT. Anybody playing without armor/mr on TT is going to die anyway as there is no "back" where you can hide from anything. The standard team of tanks going offensive and offensive (melee) champs going tanky is not what the normal poppy wants to see. At least, not until she is fed. At the start of the game, nobody is going to be scared and even champs who are usually troublesome pre-ult (trynda?) should have an easy job against a poppy.

TT is known for the ease at which ganks can occur, but honestly, if you don't ward there, you don't deserve to win. More then on summoners rift, jungle control is everything. If you didn't see poppy coming to gank you, yes, things are going to be troublesome.

But suppose you did everything right up to this point. No ganks succeeded and you are slightly ahead in gold of poppy, and preferably her tower is a little lower: don't be silly and buy armor/mr. At that point you are shutting her down. Her burst comes, you take it, and being decently tanky by now, you survive this easily after which you dish some damage back and maybe with your team even take her down.

I mean, what good is poppy when there isn't someone on the opponents team she can charge into and melt within seconds?

Honestly Poppy isn't in the top tier of TT, let alone broken.

If you want to play truly outrageous TT heros you play ones that are balanced around five man teams such as tanks like Cho, Mundo or Singed who simply don't die as three people lack the firepower to kill them, or heros who are balanced around teams being able to burst them down such as Morde. Tyrnadmere is another good choice as there is 2 less people to run exhaust and 2 less people he needs to kill before his ult runs out.

her AP ratios are complete shit

you need 20 AP to get an additional point of damage on impure shots, which comes to 400 gold spent to get 1 point of damage per passive stack

it takes 5 AP to get an additional point of damage on bullet time, which is 100 gold spent to get 1 point of damage per wave

it takes 1.25 AP to get an additional point of damage on make it rain, which is 25 gold spent to get 1 point of damage total

the
one
reasonable gold-per-damage value comes on a 15sec cd

it costs 36.67 gold for 1 point of AD, which is every auto
plus
.75 damage each double up
plus
.4 damage per wave on bullet time

it is
ridiculously
gold-ineffective to build AP MF because her ratios are shit and her cds are shit

The really broken thing about poppy in tt is her supreme ability to 1v1 (40 extra damage where no one but your target can hit you, and you take half damage on anything for more than 10% of your health). Poppy is really hard to 1v1, and just as hard to 2v1. You ult someone with poppy and kill them, 4 more people kill you. Now it's only 2. Not to mention ap poppy makes EVERY fight an instant man down (except for maybe a super decked out singed or something). DFG+40% extra damage is too good.

I think you're forgetting that the bonus on W stacks, meaning that once you attack 5 times, the AP Ratio is quintupled.

Double Up is also pretty useless, in my experience.

double up is an excellent harassment tool in lane

.05*5 = .25

that's still a really shitty ratio

edit: you could still have 2 AD + some change for the amount it'd cost to get an extra 1 damage at full stacks of impure

for further mathcrafting

for the 4 AP for 1 dmg on W at full stacks

you gain a grand total of 10.6 dmg over all skills, cd affecting dps in that case

for equivalent amount of AD off the cost of the 4 AP, you gain a total of ~10.8 dmg over all skills, inc the ~2.182 AD on your autos which aren't cd-affected

if you assume 8k is to be spent on offensive items, that's ~20 damage difference, not including the amount "wasted" on the AP by not being able to utilize it during CDs

the reason why AP works on casters and the like is because they're built around (i remember reading this somewhere) having a total ratio of roughly 2.0 over all their skills; this makes AP
ridiculously
more cost-effective than AD (almost 4x as cost-effective, as a matter of fact)

MF does not have the ratios to make itemizing AP over AD cost-effective at any amount

I just had the most frustrating loss where we lost all of our inhib towers while a kennen fucking fed and assisted the enemy team, and then sat around doing nothing while we aced them repeatedly. We eventually loss when we aced everyone but the nasus, who teleported in as we were hitting their nexus to our nexus, and we lost. So frustrating, so pissed to overcome a leaver and pretty much win.... and still lose.

Also zhonyas ult on morgana is op.
