I suck in jungle. I want to learn Lanedyr. I have seen it played really well a few times and looks amazing.

On that note I want to play a bit of Lanewick too.

As Udyr I mistime shit alot.
As Lux I don't spam enough.
As Nid I stay in cougar far too long.

They best way to level up her abilities while laning is EQEQEW then max E and then Q. Get W sooner if you think you need it vs their jungler or if mid is pushed up really far.
E is the best to get first since it gives you some early sustain (assuming you're not losing tons of health), and gives you an attack speed bonus while farming (last hit, last hit, last hit, Heal, hit-hit-harrass-hit-hit... etc)
Use traps as psuedo wards and farm/travel in her cougar form. When facing champions 1 on 1 melee burst them in cougar then either pounce out or switch back to human form to heal/throw a spear. Rinse repeat as needed.
Don't throw spears until level 2, and even then only use it on shots you know you can hit, and try to get them at max range. At level one the damage output of her spears isn't efficient use of her mana, even with a max range spear hit.
Once you hit 6, when you get a wave to their tower, move forward to intercept the oncoming wave with cougar form if it's safe to do so.
Guinsoo's is really good since you won't really need to get anymore AD items for cougar form damage after, and a lichbane is procakes for backdooring. Otherwise her build is pretty standard AP.
I've also seen Tank nidalee work pretty well recently...

Tank nidalee is horrible. So many kinds of horrible. It's just wrong.

On the subject of e or q for priority: it's a matter of if you're dealing with harass. No harass? Q is far more useful. Taking a buncha damage: E is far more useful. Be flexible on this. Opening w is because e isn't mana efficient at level one either. Though I guess if you're doing it wrong and duo-laning nid you'd need the heal *very early*, but you should never be duo-laning nid. Nid shines most as a solo top. Healing's best when you use it at level two, and w is actually a decent zoning tool in early lane due to the mr/armor shred + damage + vision.

For opening items, there's two options: doran's ring or boots health pots. Doran's is what I typically go for on nid merely because she has a natural heal and is mana hungry early on.

I personally have been in 2 situations ever where I wished I had taken W first and even then I still had an advantage.

Personal preference, I always take E unless underlying circumstances (stealing enemy blue when there's no CV is really the only time I'll take W first) cause me to want to take W.

Lane udyr has nothing on range. Both the enemies have ranged harass? You're screwed in that lane. I guess you could go with a roam udyr, but that's something you'd have to plan ahead with your teammates and won't be as effective as a straight up jungle. Laning udyr requires that you either prioritize turtle stance a lot to get the sustain or just somehow get torn apart by harass while still keeping up in farm.

You don't duolane Udyr if possible. And against the common solo tops, Udyr is quite nice. It's nothing compared to his jungle though, so I still don't know why people do this unless it's a counterpick.

After two games, my impressions: GET PRISCILLA'S BLESSING. OP OP OP. Capture speed AND movement speed? OP OP OP. Play an assassin, a mage, or a tank. You want burst or survivability. Oddball useful characters will have movespeed increases.
