I've decided to compile (and paraphrase) any mechanics-related questions that people have asked in order to clear it up for everyone in the event of an ambiguous term or concept. If anything you read here makes you want to change your preferences, please let me know within the initial 48 hour period.

Picking classes and skills
Q: Can I just pick any class, even considering the danger of some being picked by almost every one and some not at all?
A: You can pick whatever you want, but remember, it's a preference. There is no guarantee you'll get your first choice. I'd recommend sending in at least two or three back up choices in case you miss out on your first one. How you decide to order your choices is up to you ^^
Q: Are classes given out first-come first-serve?
A: No; all classes will be distributed once all the preferences are sent in, or the end of the 48 hours, whichever comes sooner.
Q: Do players start with all skills at Level 1?
A: No; all skills start at effectively Level 0 (unusable), and must be purchased with skill points in order to use. Skill distribution occurs at the start of the game, where all skill points will be spent at once. I might consider introducing a levelling/experience system in the future if this game goes down well!
Q: Is there any way to gain additional skill points during the course of the game?
A: Nope - the three skill points that you spend at the start of the game are all you have.
Q: Can I use multiple active skills in the same night?
A: No: passives can be triggered during the same night that you use an active skill, but two active skills cannot be used simultaneously. However, the mafia ARE able to submit a night kill alongside any other night action they have.
Q: Can the Alua Vanquisher's "Intimidate" block the mafia night kill?
A: Yes, it can.
Q: Does a lynch count as a kill attempt for the purposes of "Battlescars"?
A: No, only direct kill attempts count (so any killing skill or the mafia night's kill).
Q: Does the Barbarian Mystic's "Smoke and Mirrors" reflect mafia night kills?
A: No, it only affects individual class skills.
Q: How does the Vagabond's "Mimic" work?
A: You will pick two players; one to target with "Mimic", and a second to target with the mimicked skill. You won't be told what skill you've copied. Please note that this skill cannot copy the mafia's factional night kill.
Q: Is the result of "Ember Shield" made public, or is it only known by the Red Wizard? What triggers this result?
A: The result is only known by the Red Wizard him/herself. (S)he will be told the results the end of the night phase, before I unlock the thread for the start of the day. There is no need to activate the skill as it is a passive bonus that will last for the duration of the game.
Q: What the heck is "critical strike" as mentioned in the Assassin's "special move"?
A: This was accidentally left over from when the Assassin had a different skill. It's been edited now, and allows "Neurotoxin" to be used during the day phase as well as allowing "Assassination" to be performed secretly.
Q: Can you explain how the Necromancer's "Spirit's Guidance" works?
A: Sure: if you've previously "Communed" a player, and later use "Revival" on them, it won't cost a shot of the skill. You can do this even after your Commune QT has closed. You still need at least level 1 in "Revival" to do this, of course. I also want to clarify that you can only use Revival on each dead player once.
If the Shadewalker uses "Eclipse" at Level 3, does his passive allow him to use another ability as if it were level 1?
A: No, it simply raises any abilities you already have to one level higher for that night.
Q: How does the Bard's "Discord" skill work?
A: It allows you to swap targets within the confines of the skill, i.e.:
1.
A <---> B
2.
A ---> B ---> C ---> A
3.
A ---> B ---> C ---> D ---> A
OR
A <---> B
and
C <---> D
Q: Will this be full-reveal?
A: Kinda. People will flip with their alignment and class - but there will be no information on where they distributed their skill points. I've added this rule to the top for future reference, thanks for pointing out its absence!
Q: Did you know that running game.exe produces the following error message: "RPGVX RTP is not found"?
A: I did not expect this to happen. I have added the
RTP package to the OP, but its also that link just there, so uh, feel free to click on either!
Q: Did you know you messed the BB Code for Bard and High Priest in the OP?
A: No, but thanks for pointing it out. It's now fixed.
See, I don't bite! So any questions, just PM me.
