I would be interested to see the outcome if someone can run some EVs on Tic Tac Toe. It looks a little luck-based but you will potentially get some very interesting WIFOM developing.

That last one would make it really scum-sided.

What does a mafia bookie do?

I think this setup would be somewhat spoiled by adding a PR.

I think it should be kept all-vanilla. PRs would just make it too swingy and unpredictable.

And I'm not entirely sure how to run EVs, but I might try to figure it out. Is it just a probability-based simulation of the game assuming random lynches and actions?

To rectify the severe lack of small 7p setups;

Doubles Mafia


2x Mafia Goons
1x Tracker
1x Roleblocker
3x Townies

~~

- Daystart
- On Night 1 only, both PR's can use their action on two different players.
- If the Roleblocker targets the Tracker, both tracks are blocked.
- If the Tracker targets the Roleblocker, it sees the Roleblocker going two places (if used twice)
- Scum can no kill if they wish.

Re: Doubles Mafia - Scum is so much weaker when they go down to 1 member that the obvious strategy is to no-kill N1 (alt: shooting at a claimed RB) and try to get two mislynches D1 and D2. Seems a bit silly overall in terms of play.

That's mostly inconsequential. If scum gets lynched D1, no-killing N1 is optimal, but in the event of a town lynch, killing N1 is probably optimal. Even if they get tracked, they can force a 50/50 in lylo the next day.

Not just N1 by the bye - killing a townie risks giving town enough confirmeds to clinch the game. Trackers and roleblockers are mucho powerful vs. one scum.

If you manage to kill a townie, I'd expect the town to be able to figure out who made the kill between their two guaranteed town roles and 4 night actions. The only downside of no-lynching is that you have to avoid the roleblocker next Night - that's not that big a deal.

If someone claims a tracker guilty on you and you counterclaim, yeah, you're getting lynched. That's no 50/50.

I thought about it and the SK has a much higher chance of winning than usual.

But yeah, I can see how this could be hard.

That would make it potentially viable, but it would throw away the core of the setup (that the scum don't know each other).

A deeper problem is that Mafia is a game of Uninformed Majority vs Informed Minority. You're turning it into Uninformed Majority vs
Un
informed Minority.

The 50% Serial Miller (have you been reading "worst role ideas"?) could work, just not like this.

If the Goon kills the ScumTraitDoc, does he join the Goon instead of dying?

Hi.

I want to design an Open setup that incorporates a third party Serial Killer role who has a 1-shot kill. Before the SK uses the kill he shows up as innocent to cops. But afterwards he shows up guilty BUT he gains a 1-shot BP.

Could work, but an SK with only one shot? The other factions would have to be very weak, or very small.

Yeah I just like the concept of the Serial Killer having to weigh up pros and cons.

I was envisioning it as a small game, no more than 9 players.

Special Mechanic: When someone dies, his alignment and role is not revealed. Instead, the alignment and role of the next person on the playerlist is revealed. If the last person in the playerlist is killed, the first one's alignment and role is revealed.

Example:

2. Franklin
3. Hammurabi
4. Williams
5. Attila
6. Broodmother
7. Jeezus
9. Theamazingatheist

Broodmother was lynched. Jeezus is a
