I don't really see Pine as being scum. His posts are clear and thoughtful, and he presents cases with evidence and logical reasoning. This post also feels very town to me:

Pine wrote:Reck, at this point, I'm 95% likely to be a mislynch at some point, whether it is D1 or later. Making that lynch not a waste is more important than preventing it.

I'm also not a loss for Town. I've said my piece and don't have an important role. So don't sweat it.

The only thing that bothers me about him is his statement about having a "crystal-clear" idea of who the scum are, but that seems more like a poor choice of words than anything else.

Also, I claim vanilla townie.

is it not typical for town to claim negative utility asap?
I didn't mention that?

Anyways, I'd say its true, unprovoked Miller claims seem to usually be true.

Pine wrote:I want a response from everyone not listed below on this - When I flip Town, will you go back and re-read my opinions, and lynch Soda, Sleepy Krew, and maybe Triangle?

I say "maybe" Triangle, because if Sleepy Krew is scum as I suspect, then this...
SleepyKrew wrote:Nah, I'd prefer a scumflip first.

...may be interpreted as a slip clearing Triangle. If you don't see it, you don't really deserve to, but I'll spell it out. By suggesting he wants a scumflip first, he's specifically implying that Triangle
won't
be a scumflip.

Again, I want promises from everyone voting for me that they'll take my reads seriously.
How the crap is this a slip? He's showing confidence Fate-style, and I see no way that's a slip. Also, yes, of course I'll take your reads into account, why wouldn't I?

Yates wrote:
Force of Nature wrote:Yates is POWERLURKING by the way.

This is an extremely specious and potentially deleterious statement. There's a difference between "powerlurking" and having said your piece for the day. Nothing has been said that would cause me to change my vote or that I would have uncommon insight into. I'm not used to the day phase lasting this long so you'll need to cut me some slack and see how I respond once we have something other than arbitrary accusations being tossed about.

If my corpse
does
happen to show up dead tomorrow, FoN, I hope the Town takes a good hard look at your nonsense. You have been measured and you have been found wanting.
This feels off to me. Kind of an "OHCRAP I'M CAUGHT TIME TO SOFT-OMGUS MY WAY OUT OF THIS".

SodaSpirit17 wrote:hmm... Pine was one of my foses as well, not sure if I made that public, but I think I did. But we shouldn't be too quick on the job.
Congradulations, Soda, you managed to post once again without giving any content. Care to remind me why I took my vote off of you again?
I'm back, sort of. Not a lot of free time to play, but I'm planning to be modding some mish mash and stuff this winter.

Eragon Mafia, a 17-Player Large Theme, will be coming to the large theme queue soon(ish) if all goes well. If you're interested, PM me to pre-in.

What is with both wagons claiming VT and calling each other town.
Thoughts on a Yates flashwagon?

I'm not, I still retain heavy suspicion of Triangle. I'm just saying that there's no way Triangle and SKrew are scum together. As I have no reason to believe SKrew to be Town and every reason to believe he is scum, logically we lynch him first, and hold off on Triangle for now.

In either case, Soda is definitely scum, and must go.

Soda has a couple of minor towntells. "Augh" is a towntell because trying to figure out scum has a certain agonizingness to it.
"Pine was on my scumlist but not public" is also a towntell because scum don't really have reads that aren't part of their image.
I'm not interested in lynching Soda today.

Pine still bothers me a lot. He thinks the counterwagon to himself has a very good chance of being on scum, but isn't voting on it.
At this point we just need somebody to die. This game's activity level is just not sufficient for a new wagon on Reck/Grimm/Yates.
My townread on Implosion doesn't feel strong anymore, which provides another decent triangle buddy.

I don't feel like I have this one figured out and it makes me sad. Hopefully Mattman's replacement is an active player. I'm happy with Alex's content now and think he's town.

Triangle has like 2 completed games. I'm not sure he'd realize claiming PR D1 as scum increased his survival odds.

See, I was thinking the opposite: if she had less experience, she would be more likely to claim a power role as scum, because claiming a power role to out the power role is pretty basic scum 101 tactics. At least, that was my experience.

Your explanation makes logical sense, though, so I guess it's null.

Sounds like you're having second thoughts about Triangle too, Reck. It's not too late to lynch Sodascum.

If we come down to deadline, though, and can't rally on Soda or SKrew, Triangle is better than nothing. I'll even support my own lynch over a no-lynch, for reasons previously stated.

I do hate that Triangle is making zero effort not to get lynched.
Also the whole pine wagon feels town to me...

Town people:
Me
Furc
Uphill
Alex

Townish:
Mattman
Soda
SK? (outdated read)

Other people:
Reck (I just don't trust myself to read him at this point)
Grimm (outdated read)

Scummy people:
Yates
Implosion
Pine/triangle??

If we want to lynch somebody who isn't pine / triangle I want it to be Yates or Implosion.

Implosion was town early, but at this point his play looks like calling some people (a bit too many, actually) solidly town and then coasting.

No, I didn't (and I'm not why you thought that). I was under the impression that the below indicated that you were thinking that an inexperienced scum player would be less likely to claim VT, and indicated some doubts on your part.

This is pretty much the opposite of what I'm trying to say.

You said: newbTriangle claiming VT is a newbScum mistake, because she wouldn't realize claiming a PR is the proper play.
I said: newbTriangle claiming VT is a newbTown tell, because in my experience, newbScum play is to claim a PR.

Come
on
, people. I swear to god, half of this tread is choosing to power lurk.

The deadline is in (expired on 2011-10-31 23:00:00) <--Countdown, so this is accurate to your time as you read this.

At 18 hours out, if the Soda wagon hasn't gained sufficient steam I will reluctantly rejoin the Triangle wagon.

First sentence seems forced. He's trying too hard to be nonchalant.
Still waiting for you to tell me why I'm scum. And Reck and others have made good cases against Triangle.
