go 9-21-0. exhaust mastery, nimbleness, 3 ranks of ardor. so good.

I like Exhaust/Flash the most. If not having improved summoners bugs you, you could go Exhaust/Heal or Exhaust/Fortify but I can't say I'd recommend it. (In Dominion do Exhaust/Garrison).

alternatively you can go hextech into WotA if you'd rather do shitty damage instead of good damage

from there it's reactive, generally survivability and rylais are good options though. remember AP gets you some health (that's why you can go guise into cap without being a squishy fucker, you get the HP on guise plus hp on all of the ap you're grabbing). Don't get void unless the priority targets are packing 100+ MR, in which case you'll want to sell your guise.


EQ rolls help you harass in lane. if they try to get sassy with you, REQWEQ is a giant sucker-punch with a lot of healing on it

don't be a moron about your tides stacks. you want to hang out at about 1 or 2 usually, go to 4 if you've got the health and you're ready to rock

I ran dodge on him already cause I don't have hp/level. I run one apen quint cause 50 apen with boots and guise is so sexy on screen...

I ran 10/12/8 or somethin weird because I like xp mastery (since all other ap mids are bound to have it) and late tree defensive are meh. (But I can see ardor bein useful) I like ignite cause it helps kill things and is amplified by hemo, which let me ensure at least a double kill in team fights.

Ill try him without a hextech and see how that works though hmm.

Also why not CDR blues? I don't have them but he seems to scale well with it without having any attractive items (or need for blue buff) to get him there...

eh if you're not finishing defense tree ignite's not so bad. but people with heals in their kit love exhaust because stalling for time is just that much better when you get a heal at the end of it. plus exhaust is just op in general. not to mention exhaust + pool make vlad just obscenely baity

as for blues, :shrug: cdr may very well be better. my vlad page is my general no mana caster page and I just have ap blues? come to think of it cdr is probably really good on EVERYONE without mana. I might switch that shit

My Vlad build is pretty different.

MPen Red
Dodge Yellow
MR Blues
MPen Quints

Amp tome-> Hextech-> lvl 1 boots-> WoA-> Ninja Tabi or Merc Treads-> Rylais-> D.Cap or Void Staff-> The other one of D.Cap or Void Staff-> Hourglass.

You're basically a bruiser, not burst damage. As long as you have full stacks up your team fighting method is basically just ult as you run in, q the nearest thing, Tides, pool as many things as your can, Q the squishiest thing you can reach, Tides. You're goal is basically just output as much AoE as possible while being tough enough that you can charge through their team to get into Q range of their carries.

My vlad build would be more similar to that of Button's; I wouldn't upgrade the hextech into a WotA so early, though. The main things being me loving TP so much that I very rarely give it up for Exhaust on something and me lacking anything other than Mpen/Arpen reds, armor yellows, MR blues, HP quints. In fact, I don't even have the Mpen reds/HP quints on NA (I'm really crippled when I play casters atm).

Teleport is a really really great spell but realistically you only need 1 on a team and beyond that having more exhausts will help your team more in teamfights. In terms of laning, exhaust and teleport are both hugely good and awesome. Teleport helps your team with objective control, exhaust helps your team in teamfights - but additional teleports add very little extra benefit in terms of objective control whereas additional exhausts add even more to teamfights (as a typical comp will have 2-3 ad champions from top lane, jungle and bot lane.) So if one person is going to run tp, it should normally be solo top, as that gives ultimate dragon control. Hence if your vlad is solo top (which vlad occasionally is) I can see tp on vlad, but if he's standard mid lane you probably get more from exhaust.

I wouldn't build PURE AP, but everything besides double-up scales on AP and I don't like double-up's randomish nature.
