Too many players are not contributing / Prod-dodging
: Feysal, Mockingjaye, ABR, xvart, and ooba are those I'm most troubled by that action coming from them.

DoF is Town –
327
where he goes out of his way to question Empking’s claimed Town read on him is the closest thing to a Town-tell that I actually ascribe to. Plus his play is Pro-Town.

UNVOTE: Oversoul
VOTE: Shadow

Seeing Shadow’s wagon collapse like a house of cards and never be revisited despite the play on his end and his subsequent lurking solidifies my read.

Benmage wrote:Emp, I read shadow. The guys a noob.

Disagree. Storm proved he wasn’t Newb but competent enough for my tastes. The fact that all he’s done is engage in a battle with Empking that results in a Town read and done no other scum-hunting is suspect. Also look at the following post –

Shadow at 474 wrote:Maybe I missed a post (there were a couple pages that got skipped when I responded yesterday, I'll re-read them for quoting and questioning tomorrow morning), but
why is everyone kowtowing to Benmage here?

The bolded is clear undermining …

--

Fourseen wrote:My vote was just to add pressure to the bandwagon.

Listen Brother … who is scum? You’ve been serially hiding behind flavor posting as opposed to bringing content. Tell me your three biggest scum candidates.

--

@Benmage
– if you really believe MoS is scum why aren’t you pushing on him more? Especially in light of
425
where you correctly assess that MoS only popped into the game to attack you and did more or less nothing else. And further after
518
where you again note again that he pops up to defend himself from Plum yet isn’t giving any content outside ‘Benmage is scum’. I note you said you might drop a case but the question still is valid.

Benmage wrote:I'm thinking anyone town aligned, and not aligned with the crown... Claims so?

Um, why?

--

Oversoul wrote:In case of quick lynching which I seriously thought was going to happen while I was at school, but we didn't do anything so I was able to keep on an eye on the thread.

So you were worried about Town losing a Vanilla role to a quick-lynch? Why is that other than 'Town not losing a Town player Day 1'?

--

Greenknight wrote:I felt this fight was probably town vs town, because scum would be reluctant to draw attention to themselves by arguing with a townie on page 2. Do you think it was staged?

Zang tell detected.

DoF wrote:"Not sure, monday and GK haven't given enough for me to have a firm view on them, so null. As for Mos, you vs MoS leans TvT.

And another Zang tell ….

Feysal wrote:Catching up here. Read about a third, and delving into the clash between Shadow and Empking. I feel Shadow is town this time too, his style reminds me of his play last time. Empking surprises me by appearing more proactive than I've seen him before, which I suppose should be a town tell, but I'm not finding him easy to read.

Is this some overly wordy way of saying Shadow versus Empking was Town v Town?

At least one of these three throwing down the Zang tell is likely scum. And I read DoF as Town so it is either Greenknight or Feysal.

--

Magua wrote:ABR, why you no play like you played in Metropolis?

Or any other game I've ever seen you in, for that matter?

I’d rather understand why he is more focused on flavor than scum-hunting in the few posts he has …

--

MoS wrote:Unvote, FoS: Benmage since I'm on V/LA.

Why did you unvote simply because you are V/LA? That makes no sense from a Townie perspective …

--

Mina wrote:Hey, MoI, I agree with Benmage in that quote, but why did you add that part about potential sheepage? Didn't you say in the graveyard thread for ASoS that you voted Benmage for Hand because you thought he would fuck things up if you gave him power? The motivation behind this post seems as though you're trying to kiss up to him, since Benmage is susceptible to being buddied and (*cough*) thinks highly of himself sometimes.

It’s reaction testing Benmage. There has been bad blood between us for awhile. The fact that he didn’t even blink at it coming from me is suspect. Thus although I like the logic coming from Benmage in certain areas I want more input from him on things I don’t quite get.

--

Hascow wrote:Is what you said here something you have used before? Do you actually believe this is a legitimate reason? Why? It looks incredibly weak and I'm not a fan of it.

It’s my effort at injecting even the slightest bit of actual content in my RVS vote. Is it a strong, overwhelming tell? Nope. But it’s better than “Luzl I hate his avatar”.

Is your expectation that votes on the first page would be anything other than ‘Incredibly Weak’?

Well consider that specific Town-tell from you revoked from that interaction (since I misread your and Empking’s back and forth … perhaps dropping the RPing might be nice to make clarity a little stronger in your posting). But your response here is on similar lines. Scum don’t make a habit of correcting mistakes that benefit them.

DoF wrote:

The Zang tell is my personal shorthand for scum’s penchant for describing battles between two players as Town versus Town as a way of getting cred from correct reads and distancing from a potential mislynch based on that conflict.

My first observation of this was Zang in ooba’s Stardust Smalltown Mafia. Jack and I got into a heated back and forth over Jack calling me scum for some inane reason. Zang called it a Town versus Town fight with no real standing at that juncture.

It works best in early game when players ostensibly have little reason to have solid Town reads on other players but does have application later on.

I think one of the three of you is scum because I’ve seen pretty consistently that it is a valid tell. Every single time is the player scum? No, but it is consistent enough that seeing it three times here sells me that one of the three of you is very likely scum.

Probably not town.

Why?

You seem to be preoccupied with an rvs wagon, that is in all fairness, crap, AND you add in useless comments that imply you want to remain in the joke phase of rvs.

So I'm scum because you disagree with me on whether the player who clearly doesn't want to increase their amount of information on alignments is scum? Why is your scumtell better than mine?

Albert B. Rampage wrote:Randyll Tarly was at Maidenpool when the raven from Storm's End ordered him to take his men to King's Landing within a moon's turn. Mace Tyrell had promised him a seat on the council as soon as he put an end to Cersei's disappointing mummer's farce at court. The brotherhood without banners and the Hound would have to wait until matters at the capital were sorted out.

Empking wrote:DoF: I think you and I both know the answers to your questions to Shadow.

Oversoul: 1. Did you quote the right post to me?
2. If Shadow isn't trying to find out people's alignments is that a scumtell? I want to know if we differ on our interpretation of Shadow's posts or the actual scumtell.

Ya I quoted the post that made me think you were the most scummy and then I quoted another post that reinforced the idea (that second post was the one where I called you "probably not town"). I think we are disagreeing on the interpretation of the post, but that is again, just my opinion. :P I view him as trying to find out people's alignments and I feel like people are just trying to overplay the whole Littlefinger situation.

Begin catchup posting. I will reiterate here, as I saw MoI trying to greedily hop back on me for whatever reason, that I don't play on weekends. I read, I catchup, I make responses if I've got a moment of downtime, but I generally am not around. This is consistent with any game I've ever played, and if you're too lazy to check it, that's not my fault.

Re: Diddin - Not sure if Diddin ever actually did come back, I don't recall anything he's done, but that's what this catch up is for.

In response to the above, Oversoul already hit the nail on the head, though I don't discount scum on both sides of this issue (likely one on the bandwagon, one 'white knighting' me, see: Oversoul, Benmage thusfar). Might just be over-paranoia. I answered this later as well. Continuing on.

Interesteding word choice in the bolded - how can I 'hop back on you' when I never voted for you before?

You started lurking out the pressure well before the weekend. So your V/LA excuse isn't really applicable.

Given what I know, I am not totally convinced that there is not a second scum team. It is in the realm of possibility that there is only one, but I find it unlikely. A third party, given past events, seems likely.

2nd scum team no. Gotchya

This bothers me. Why would you entertain anything from Littlefinger on a matter such as that?

What do you mean?

What I mean is this: people are gonna get wise to your games sooner or later - the only way to get this to work properlike is to work with us, instead of against us. So what you do is you focus on style over substances, on typographical issues and the like - it'll be distracting short term and beneficial long term, so you get to further your win condition and we'll let you do it.

P.S. if you assume a just god, there's no third party. I so deserve to draw an SK role; I've paid my dues.

Double on this. I don't understand the reasoning in trying to get Littlefinger to do anything,
nothing
he does will be helpful, at least early on.

I don't like Diddin's play as of this point. He didn't strike me as a remarkable player to begin with, but I think this is the definition of not contributing and trying to get votes in under the radar.

MoI, time constrains all of us. There are certain things I choose todo before others. Other things I strategically wait to embellish upon. MoS is something I purposely waited on (and something requiring significant time). Like I said, ill do it tonight.

Oversoul
switch vote to MoS.

@Shadow
you will not question anything I do. It is a waste of time, my alignment is undeniable.

Oh and he 'zangtell'(weird) ..... was something I hinted to as potential inside info by GK.... calling fights TvT also makes those people involved feel more ambivalent to the person calling them town. Town want to be recognized as town, and so it is also a sort of subtle buddying.
