Meh, gut tells me Anxiety (not gonna bother with the leetspeak) is just newbtown. And even though it's obviously really, really early for this sort of guesswork, his response to Redacted's post doesn't feel like a scumpartner interaction to me. (quoting it and calling it "really good analysis" which it's pretty much objectively not even if you agree with the conclusion... among other things, Redacted is mistaken that Mitchell is the "leader of the main characters" and even if that

were

the case that wouldn't necessarily mean he'd be some UBER POWER ROLE "basically asking for a bullet" because the show really doesn't work that way.)


Redacted, please comment on something besides setup/flavour speculation in your next post.

I'm inclined to agree that he seems extremely hostile, but his interactions with 4nx make him seem more elitist. In any case, I don't particularly like his attitude, but that's not scummy. His post 61 has me asking myself if any of those things are really so scummy. I wouldn't call it damning evidence. The only thing in that post I find that makes me think Redacted might be scum is point 4; that he accused Timeater of trying to get town cred for his nameclaim. That make me curious if Timeater is flailing, as he's been accused of, or if he's throwing things against the wall to see what sticks (sort of scummy also).


The jury is still out on if the nameclaim was town or scum for me. The fact that he hasn't been counter-claimed is in his favor I suppose, but he did choose a character that's only in 2 out of 10 seasons. Obviously a significant character in those seasons, but who's to say that character is in this scenario. I don't remember what the flavor posted in the queue thread was, but IIRC, it did mention characters from all seasons would apply. I can't look it up right now since I'm at work, though.

This is a mini-theme for 13 players, which means I have six pre-ins available.

The game covers the entire run of Stargate: SG-1 (ie, characters who never appeared together in the show may both be in the game)

, but lack of flavor knowledge shouldn't be an issue. There are no cults or jesters. Deadlines will be 2 weeks/3 days. I'm on hold in the mini-theme queue until after October 10, so I expect the game to start in mid-October.

I'm about 60/40 on Anxiety, leaning scum. He definitely could just be noobtown/VI. Town reads take me a long time to form. Still 100% on Redacted. Everyone should be voting for him.

Guys, something you should know about me since only Peregrine has played with me before (maybe VMD but she/he wont say). When, I tunnel, I am 'hostile'. Its nothing personal - I will get in your face and maybe be a little dickish depending on my mood, but thats how I roll. I am far from a gentlemen when I'm asking questions. Thats why avatar is an angry monkey pokemon.

"Throwing things against the wall to see what sticks" is just a saying. I meant that you may be pointing out seemingly insignificant things in an attempt to find one or two that other people will find scummy also. In this case, the target of your "things" is Redacted.

Col Mitchell was only in seasons 9-10, IIRC.

"These posts read to me like "oh shit RVS is over, I need to come up with something meaningful to say quick" doesn't make any sense for reasons I've already stated. The first quote happened before my nameclaim. The second quote WAS my nameclaim. The third quote was me attacking Fennin for something I didn't like. If it is as you say, and "RVS is a myth/etc" why the emphasis on using it as information for me being scum? For flavor purposes, any could be scum.

Also, name claims are generally bad idea overall due to role interactions. If player A's role is to kill John Doe, and Player B admits to being John Doe, then player A will try to kill player B. If both players are also town, too bad for them. And while this usually happens only in large games, trying to outguess the mod is never a good idea.

I personally agree with Anxiety on this. Timeater made the nameclaim and then really didn't follow it up with anything, and that is in addition to voting [Redacted] simply because he did not believe the claim was the most townish thing to do. To me, that indicates that he was probably using the claim for town cred, even if he does not directly come out and say that's what he was doing. Now, that being said, he does cite some potentially town reasons for claiming, so we're back to square one, his claim is a null-tell and should probably be ignored once we have some harder scumtells to go off of.

Regardless of who is who on the show, I'm going to assume everyone is fair game with regards to roleclaims. Bad characters could be town PRs, Cameron Mitchell could be scum. It's happened before.
