Yup.

Even when running the shortuts on both .72 and .96 (either with admin or otherwise), I get either the c++ error or the entire client shuts down.

I like the Bruiser Fizz build. Fairly similar to Wit's End Cho. My favorite played build thus far: Mercs, Wit's End, Warmog's, Madred's, GA, Glacial Shield (into Frozen Heart if enough time, but alas).

Mana is a big issue though, so Catalyst into ROA is probably going to come into play at some point. If that happened I'd probably shoot for something like: Mercs, ROA, Wit's End, Madred's, etc., etc. Maybe a Rylai's to try and recoup some of the lost HP that I'd normally get with Warmog's.

I had a game yesterday where the other team put a ward in our bush, and I didn't notice at first because I had just placed a ward there, but while I was there placing a ward, I noticed someone TP'd in, I walked away, and then 4 more TP's... they had all TP'd into our jungle. Then they killed my ward and their shyvanna said "killed your ward haha!"

so after they were out of our jungle I bought a pink ward (couldn't really afford an oracle at that point) and killed their ward. Though, I didn't say anything =P

You mean, if he wasn't UP? I think that they're both quite UP, tbqh. It's a little number problem on Leona, but you can't make Amumu viable without making him OP, really.

er, what? Amumu can be quite ridiculous. IDK about Leona though, but I've seen her solo top successfully in ranked before :0 (About 1300 ELO- it was in a video~)

I so far haven't found Leona to be UP, that being said i've not played many games with her and they weren't ranked. Her damage seems ok enough and standing toe to toe works with enough champs that she feels ok. Her Ultimate is nice, extremely nice infact i absolutely love it. Her Q is lovely and her W does decent enough damage and helps farming a lot. I find that once i get my build going people have serious trouble in killing me making a bit of distance usually gives me enough time to regen health that i can go back in a few seconds later.

Amumu's issues i'm not really sure of, i think i played him once sucked and vowed never again but i've seen some fairly good ones that've proceeded to hurt my team a lot.

I know how ridiculous Amumu is in the late-game, what with the game changin' ults and whatnot. The problem is getting to lategame; lane amu is trololo and a jungling one is of suboptimal speed and is simply begging to be counterjungled. His ganks are so meh it hurts (he has ~0 damage and his only CC is a kinda-slow-moving skillshot).
Don't get me wrong; a skilled Amumu will rape face and choke bitches and stuff (always cry never die), but it takes so much focus and skill that it usually isn't worth it, as opposed to some other insta-win-R tanks.

I often see Amumu's waste their ultimate to secure just one kill and often it's 100% needed or the person would get away, that's part of the problem i assume. His ultimate is strong, the rest is a little meh.

So what do you do? Nerf his ultimate and make the rest of him a bit more buff thus hurting his late game team synergy or leave him as is? I think as you say he'd be near impossible to balance fully.

Reinstalled. Problems es fixed for now.

On amumu:

Sure, he's easy to defeat early game, but in mid game when towers are down he can more easily farm and the like. Ganking is hard, but that's why you often have teams built around him not being shitty for ganks (example: reliable cc / strong damage laners such as malzahar or even a taric / caitlyn lane on bot, wukong/galio solo top, etc). To be honest, I find amumu's ult to be anti-right click not much else. Spells can still be cast during it. The beautiful thing about amumu is his ability to deal some really solid damage while still being an effective cc whore tank.

I suppose you could say galio outclasses amumu on some things: strong laning, strong farming, but he lacks a good initiation without flash (and now even with flash considering how shit it is). The thing that's good about amumu is his ability to close the gap (q) and ult: he's not a tank reliant upon a summoner to get his initiation off, and he still provides a relatively equal amount of utility.

teeldeer; amumu's shitty early game is made up for by how beautiful he is everywhere else

I had the most beautiful baron steal ever with Noc ult+smite but the enemy team had a nasus and a fed akali so they just murdered us anyway in 10 more minutes ;_;

on the subject of leona:

i'm of the personal opinion that leona is one of the worst champions in the game at the moment, bringing nothing to a team that a different support could do better

she's a godawful jungler, and she's a godawful solo - that leaves bot lane, sitting with a squishy, doing absolutely nothing but maybe initiating a fight that the carry doesn't necessarily want

comparing her to amumu is dumb; they're completely different abilities with completely different uses
