Meh. Uphill is #3 on my list. I'm still torn between FoN and Weirdalex. The fact that admin is going to be finding a 2nd replacement for the same role and both previous roles came up shady has me inclined to
Vote: Weirdalex
.

FoN lives another day...

@Yates: Why is it scummy for a slot to be replaced twice?

@Reckoner: 'kay, would you say this summary of Grimm as he has played in this game is accurate:
1) Unlikely to contribute to catching scum
2) Unlikely to vote for you, even (or especially) in LyLo
3) Likely to be lurker lynched near or in LyLo

Why is he town? 'Meta' and 'lover's intuition' makes me go get my hammer.

That's not the scummy part - that's just the annoying part. I have underlined my actual reason for clarity:

Update to add: another reason I'm not immediately jumping on the Uphill wagon is because FoN [my now 2nd most suspicious person] is on the Uphill wagon. Granted, I realize it could be a bus. I'll be paying attention to how/why FoN moves his vote if/when he does. I think that will give us more insight into both as suspects.

Why is he town? 'Meta' and 'lover's intuition' makes me go get my hammer.

1) Maybe. He seriously has been busy recently. I think he could contribute greatly if he'd just sit down and write.
2) False. The one game we've played together before this one, he had no problem voting for me and going head to head with me.
3) Not while I'm alive, he won't be.

I wouldn't say any of this is lover's intuition... it's meta, yes, but I've seen him play scum in a game and I've seen him play town. He's very engaged in the game as scum, whereas he's more likely to lurk as town. Not to mention, the stuff he
has
posted seems to be satisfactory content. It's not like he's coming in and poking at the major wagons then disappearing.

After taking a step back, I think I've overestimated the value of the scummy reaction of Yates. It's still there, but I don't think I should be counting it over his D1 play. In any event, it's pretty clear at this point where the wagons for the day are going and my vote on Yates won't do any good in that context anyways, so

UNVOTE:
VOTE: wierdalexv

The points I made against him the beginning of D2 are still there, and the
one post he's made since
doesn't do anything to change my mind.

Refreshing everyone's memory:

Uphill wrote:
wierdalexv wrote:OH MY GOD PINE'S SCUM. Basically, what Uphill said.

Here he screams in all caps that Pine is scum, but for all his apparent certainty this is all he ever says about Pine. I would think someone this certain about one of the wagons would be trying a lot harder to get that one lynched, rather than just waiting and letting the other one happen. Speaking of Triangle, weirdalex says that Reck really stretched his point about Triangle early on, which wouldn't be that bad except that it is the only thing he
ever
says about Triangle. Triangle had focus on her for basically the entire day, I don't see a good reason for alex to not state a read on her, and the Reck-stretching-his-point thing seems like a passive defense that still lets him fence-sit.

Let's see - according to page 42 the counterwagon is excited about voting me. Psssh.
Also Yates' 'case' is that I'm "shady" also he mentions the replacements but then clarifies that has nothing to do with anything, and it's just taht I'm "shady"

Yo, Yates, does "sahdy = lurking useless sack of protoplasm?
Because slots that are often replaced always have that, yeah? So it's kinda null, yeah?
Also - I have *never* been replaced in any game and am almost never even prodded (usually just caught in mass prods). So, therefore, by definition, since it's me, I auto defeat your current case on me. You should vote your second top suspect so I can sheep you and we can catch scum.

@Pine - I see Uphill is the alternate wagon. Is he there for anything juicy, or is it another lurksack case?

There is no sort of Uphill case at all.

Thor, you're in a predicament here. Even if you went balls out and were the shining beacon of protown behavior, there's no way I'd be alright with letting you live until lylo based on your predecessors. kondi was a top scumspect for me, then he replaced out. Then alex became a top suspect, and he replaced out.

Grimm... seriously?
9
of your 29 posts [not counting "/confirm" as a post] to date have been some form of "I'll post thoughts later because I'm too busy irl." That's more than 30% of your posts containing nothing but an announcement of your procrastination.

post 43, url=http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 4#p3525604]post 127, post 294, post 559, post 643, post 847, post 967, post 988, post 1042

When I put you in to isolation, you accuse people of making fluff posts as being "not pro-town" yet have contributed nothing of substance yourself. Actually, that's an exaggeration. You have made TWO attempts at advancing the game with post 253 [questions to kondi and FoN] and 326 [FINALLY giving us some reads].
2
out of 29 posts [less than
7%
!!] contain content??

You need to quit and get replaced or do better. I'm making a better case against you if you don't.

Thor665 wrote:@Yates - What's the case on me?

I'll give you 3 good reasons:

1. Random lynch vote.
Why this is scummy: SleepyKrew flipped Town. There was a wagon on SKrew later, but that wagon didn't start until odd behavior until later on in day 2. A good wagon on Triangle-Scum had been started and he distanced himself.

This play earned him a spot on my suspicious list.

2. Opportunity to hammer scum but "I'll hammer Triangle after school today."
Why this is scummy: Triangle flipped scum. If he knew he was going to vote for Triangle anyway, why didn't he just do it? The fact that Triangle later flipped scum casts suspicion on this action because it now looks like a rookie scum play of "oh I meant to vote for that person but ran out of time" when you actually know that your scum partner is about to be lynched.

3. Jumped on the wrong wagon.
Why this is scummy: everyone can make a mistake HOWEVER, when there is a 50/50 wagon going and 1 flips scum? That looks bad for anyone on the counter wagon as, presumably, scum wouldn't want to lynch their own scum buddy.

These 2 plays earned him a spot on my suspicious list INDEPENDENT of kondi's play.

To be fair, now that I've written this out, I'm a
little
less sold on konid/weirdalex/Thor scum but points 2 + 3 are REALLY damning.

Yeah, but *why*?
Also, you mentioned replaced out twice - you and I both know the substantive quality of THAT as a scumtell. That's a real life tell - why are you even bringing that up? You case should have been "had a scum feel on your predecessors" fuggin period. But "Ooooh, ::effeminate hand wave:: scummy feel *AND* they replaced out...because...town don't do that...fact!"

Seriously now. This is a lurk/flake out case isn't it?
On Day 3.
As a counter wagon...

Whassup Reck?

So, voting someone...who has no wagon on them...and not providing reasons...and avoiding active big wagons and sheeping others...is scummy?
Whut?

::Actually looks at post::

And it was in the RVS stage so...wtflolomgbbq? Are you actually presenting this as part of a case? Get thee to a Newbie good sir ;)
Has Reck yelled at you much this game? (<--serious question)

Oddly enough, that looks like a TOWNtell to me. When you're going to hammer your buddy you bloody well want to look like town if you're doing it. So you make a case and try to make it seem like you're part of the wagon - you don't do 'lol, deadline enforced hammer' on a scumbuddy you're going to bus. Weak associative for the rest 'he was going to let deadline hit...' seriously? That's you taking his action, assigning a scum intent, and then justifying it. You didn't look at the action and discern a scum intent inherently. Bogus tell.

Though Pine is fairly likely town, that's a good win to know.

That doesn't explain why out of all those names you picked this one - this one was even clearly willing to switch to the other wagon showing a general indifference of opinion between the two, again, a town tell. Why have you ruled out the rest of the counter wagon? Are they all obv. town and I've missed it?

TBH - I can't disagree with your assessment more and it sounds like a defense by cornered scum grasping at straws. These feeble excuses actually make you sound even scummier. I am especially baffled by your defense of point 2. From a Town perspective, that move looks TERRIBLE in retrospect and I think you know it. The fact you are somehow trying to turn that around into a TOWN tell? I can't even begin to understand the failure in that logic.

I'm voting for Uphill. I was recruited as a Neighbor by Nachomamma Night One as his strongest Townread. His top scumread was Uphill too, I believe (working from memory) and that factored into my decision to vote for Uphill. FoN says they were recruited the night Nacho died, though I've seen no message in the Neighborhood to substantiate that. FoN is Town though, and I recommended them as Nacho's recruit, so I have no reason to doubt it. They can presumably substantiate Nacho's opinions.

Nacho's second scumread was Reck, and I'm decidedly undecided about him. My read fluctuates with my mood...if I'm being overly critical, I see Nacho's points. If I'm in a good mood, I see TownReck. Meh.
