We're scum for... voting Faraday in RVS and getting a rise out of him. Well done, Hinduragi! You caught us on page one. Where did you ever learn to hunt scum like that? Seriously, while both of us have been in hydrae with him, they've been town hydrae, which is a far cry from actually playing scum with him and hasn't stopped either of us from getting burned by Faraday-scum.

Oh, yes, yes. Let's flame me because I think you're scum. Honestly? Can you fucking cut it back? REALLY? My FIRST VOTE of the damn game and you're going to break this shit out instead of asking me ANYTHING about why I think you're scum? Fuck ALL THAT and ESPECIALLY fuck this sham of a defense.

I doubt it. We see how Faraday wants to play his game. Even if he's scum, he'll get caught and DIE. No fucking questions.

The Anxiety shit is "ok" but nothing great at all. He's barely said anything I would say is "lol, time to quicklynch" D1 material.

Is Faraday-scum capable of playfully bantering with us? Sure. But what we're looking for is not whether he banters but how he does it and what his tone is like. So far, Mina thinks his reactions have been good, and I'm inclined to agree.

Hey, Hinduragi, if I think your reason for thinking we're scum is stupid, I'm not one to hold back, regardless of what page the game is on. As far as I was concerned, you already stated why you thought we were scum -- something about "going for Faraday instantly, calling it a joke, and then keeping [our] vote on him" -- and I took you at your word that it was your reason. And the reason was stupid.

I'm a little confused, Timeater. Nachomamma8 was talking about a hypothetical situation where I was scum, so how would he be in the mindset to slip that he's in a scum team?

Yes, but you don't understand WHY I think you're scum for that. You don't understand WHY it's scummy to go for Faraday as you have. And you sure as fuck don't know why scum are more likely to do it if it's you two. Instead, we flame me because I've listed one thing you did and said it's scummy. And THAT is why I brought it up.

Your little premise presupposes he's automatically town

EQUINOX:

If I'm scum, the mafia will not kill you night one. In return, if you're scum, you don't kill us right now. Deal?

He of course should have said "dont kill me right now". Like Freud said, there are no accidents.

1. He could have been thinking about his scumbuddies
2. He could have been thinking about masonbuddies.
3. Just could have been a typo :s

I think its a scumslip because of the careful constructed way he went about it. Its a pretty calculated thing to say for your first post. It also is very wifomy and shady like someone else mentioned, for obvious reasons too. It just doesn't feel genuine to me.

well the italicized part is invalid now. still odd that you chose to gambit on a wagon that had at least one of your scumreads, though i would like to see where you go with this.

Yes, that would be because that's my read of Nachomamma8 at the moment. It's a calculated thing to say within his first few posts, and he probably had it planned; however, considering Mina and I planned our vote on Faraday, pre-planning things for RVS isn't a tell either way. I also think the deal itself is townish, since Nachomamma8 is setting himself up here. He knows I can read him if he's scum, so getting himself into a deal where we both survive to Day 2 means he's handicapping himself if he's scum whereas it doesn't do much for him if he's town.

"Well, what if Nachomamma8-scum kills you?" He won't because he proposed the deal... on his honor. I can expound on the meta behind that, but for now I choose to put my trust in him and in my ability to read him as the game goes on.

Hahahaha!

Vote: Faraday

This is good. Right now, the ONLY thing you can possibly be thinking if you're town is "ok, let's vote Faraday because we're paranoid of him and see what we can get in case he's scum". Otherwise, you're scum who want to 1.) coast 2.) have an easy RVS vote 3.) vote Faraday/possibly help to get him lynched who is going to be a PILLAR of town if you're scum.
Indecision wrote:Faraday, just admit that you're scum and self-vote already.

There's no way that random.org gave you a town PM. You repel them.

-Mina

This is not.

Why? Vote Faraday means you're just poking. The next part is a blind joking reason as to why your vote might be good...at all. I'll come back to it in these next few quotestripes.
Indecision wrote:Faraday, I know you called Jase town, but thoughts on the miller claim itself?

I'll stop spamming the thread, now, because Equinox as well as anyone else trying to catch up will kill me.

~Mina

You're asking Faraday what he thinks of Jase. If you're town, Mina legitimately thinks Jase might be scum and that is apparently obvious by the way he went about with his shadowy claiming and then her questioning him through it. Remember, Faraday is still being voted.
Indecision wrote:Faraday: Mainly because I was enjoying the page one banter too much. And my initial instinct on his claim was town, I guess, so it didn't bother me that much right off the bat that his claim was vague? I'll admit my pressuring of him was sort of a perfunctory "Well, someone's claimed miller and didn't provide flavour; might as well force him to clarify" shot in the dark.

I'm not sure whether your last question was rhetorical, or what you mean by "edgy."

Jase: Does your PM explicitly say that any investigations on you will receive a guilty result?

Hinduragi: um, in case it wasn't obvious, my calling Faraday confirmed scum because
random.org always assigns him scum
was pretty tongue-in-cheek. How serious did you believe my and Faraday's votes on each other were?

-Mina

Now Faraday is a joke vote. Jase was a shot in the dark. I don't buy that, mainly because I was thinking the same thing about the claim and then I remembered that bit about fakeclaims and didn't buy his flavor at all, especially since he had to keep backstepping before he posted it. And back to Faraday....your vote's on him.
Indecision wrote:Faraday, what answer were you expecting beyond "I don't think I'm particularly edgy" or "thanks for your opinion"? I've been spamming up the thread, but at this point, I think my play has been completely null. I don't think I've posted anything I couldn't have said as either alignment.

Hinduragi, links to games when you've seen scum ask people to self-vote
because that is a terrible, horrible reason for a bandwagon hop that you should be ashamed of
?

Equinox also wants to know where your Faraday-town read came from if you didn't read beyond the self-vote post on page one.

-Mina

It hasn't. Asking for feedback on your response isn't even needed. Like, really. All I read was "How do you think I'm doing right now since you're interrogating me and all?"
Indecision wrote:(Equinox)

I don't see your town self ever doing this. I've seen you play. I've seen you bring logical arguments to the table. What haven't I seen? I haven't seen you flame someone else and try to joke about being wagoned. Why are you scum for that? Because you're logical and reasonable. When you joined the site, I read along in one of your newbie games and knew that since I looked up your meta in Open 218. Why doesn't a logical player flame as town? There's no need to. You're also nice from what I've seen. In Defcon 3 we had PLENTY of people derp'ing but I didn't see you super-sarcasm'ing on any of them. And then, D1 here, there's a wagon on you and you're being voted by 3, soon to become 7, and THIS change of attitude comes in? I don't buy that, not even for ONE second. I don't buy this voting Faraday shit, either, then jumping to Anxiety so quickly and jumping off of him almost as soon as that happened. I don't buy how quickly you switched the vote on him but just left it there on Faraday. I don't buy the sarcasm, the flaming, or any of it. And that is why I'm going to lynch you.

“At One O’clock, which lies to the south-southeast of Yzil, is the island of Hobarookus. Traditionally this has been a haunt of sea bandits and buccaneers. One O’clock being my lunching hour I have many times sought a healthy repast upon this island, and may happily report that whatever fiendish piratical types haunt the island, their presence has not deterred the cooks of Hobarookus from becoming fair geniuses of their craft. I will tell you plainly, there is no better food to be had at any Hour.

The topography of the island of Hobarookus is unattractive. It’s mostly rocky, though there are areas of the interior where the ground becomes unpredictably swampy. These areas, which the Hobarookians call the Sinks, are the habitats of kalukwa birds, which species reportedly hatch downy human babies from their eggs every ninth year. These children — if saved from being pecked to death by juveniles of the previous year’s hatching - are often saved by the pirates and raised as their children. This means the island, far from resembling a vile enclave of thieves and murderers, resembles instead an island of wild children watched over fondly by that aforementioned vile enclave of thieves and murderers, like mothers watching over their errant (and occasionally lightly feathered) children."

I don't buy how quickly you switched the vote on him but just left it there on Faraday. I don't buy the sarcasm, the flaming, or any of it. And that is why I'm going to lynch you.

1) If you haven't seen me flame people, you haven't seen me play. I may be a logical player, but I'm also an emotional player who rages. Sure, there isn't a need for me to rage, and my reputation would probably be a whole lot better if I'd learned when to stop posting in games, but the fact is that I still play with a certain amount of emotion. DEFCON Mafia 3.0 was something of a success story. But enough about my meta because :lolselfmeta: isn't a defense.

2) When I ask people to vote me, I'm not joking around. It could potentially help me figure out if their suspicions of me are genuine or not and if they're willing to put themselves on the line and mislynch. For instance, this game: 4nxi3ty stated a couple of times that he thought 2 of {Faraday, Indecision, Jase} were scum. If he felt convinced by this -- and he sounded like he was -- he should have thought, "I have 67% chance of my vote landing on scum." Instead, he jumped onto Klazam. I wanted to see if I could bait him into voting and, if he did, how he decided to justify moving his vote. Timeater was in a similar boat when he first posted that he believed Faraday and I were scum together.

3) I can keep my vote on Faraday as long as I want. He knows he likes it! Okay, seriously, we're now talking about two different situations: There wasn't a large wagon on Faraday when we kept our vote there, but there was an 4nxi3ty wagon that was sitting at L-2. I read his post where he analyzed his wagon, decided it felt genuine, and didn't want my vote on an L-2 wagon while I waited for Mina to come online to help me deliberate on things in the thread.
