It's an interesting mechanic. I have no idea if it could be made to work in an open setup, but I think it's worth attention.

In an open setup everyone would be forced to place a vote on the player below them on the playerlist.

Not that it would ever happen, but couldn't you
totally
have a Lynch on Day 1 and no treeflips? With Nine Players, it takes Five to lynch. Bandwagon Five votes on a player, get a flip, Nightkill, go to Day 2 with Seven players (Four to lynch). Bandwagon 4 votes on a player, Lynch, Nightkill, Day 3 with Five players, Three to lynch.

Get your treestump flips, Three players, two to lynch. Unless you've missed scum every time with lynches and Stumping, you take your townies and lynch the last scum.

If you DID miss scum, they lynch the townie, so...

But isn't that a technicallity?



ALSO, if no goon-chat, how do they decide who gets killed, and who makes the kill?

Sup i am new here. But i wanna ask if this setup is good.

9 Vanilla Townie
3 Mafia Goons
1 Mafia Mastermind.

Master mind win when goons achieve their win condition( when mafia outnumber the townie--> must be outnumber since there is mastermind ). But if mastermind wins, the mafia goons does not win. So, in this case, the goons gotta scumhunt within themselves to get the mastermind out(by lynching them in the day or NKing themselves.) In this case, mastermind is also allowed in the mafia QTs. So the mafia would have to scumhunt themselves in the night QTs. (no kills will happen when there is no majority for the choice of kills) so when there is one goon and one mastermind left, the goon cant NK the mastermind. And Mastermind dont win when all the goons dies. Probably? But i am not sure if this is balanced. (maybe could add some PR for town and a PR for mafia)--> to get a clear btw the mafias.And i cant mod a game now lol. Any opinions?

An interesting idea, but it looks very scum sided.

How are the mafia supposed to scumhunt? What would you do, give them two week long nights?

Nope. Maybe they can scumhunt in the day? LOL? i am not sure. Anyway, i dont see this to be mafiasided. The goons must get rid of the mastermind before they can win. No? And the goons dont really have much time to scumhunt in the night. Thats why i put all VTs in there. But i am not sure.

I think it just causes mass bussing making it less skillful from the town.

Ok, perhaps it's not scum-sided, but it's swingy. The mastermind's death could give the town a massive load of information.

Suppose the scum hit one of their own with the NK. Suddenly, a town win is far more likely.

How do you expect the scum to agree on a target THROUGH VOTES so fast?

The town will also have a much harder time finding scum, because all the tells will be completely different.

This setup goes directly against the core of Mafia - uninformed majority vs informed minority. You are taking away a huge chunk of the Mafia's knowledge - their confirmation.

1 cop
1 doc
1 (1shot day-sniper) -->pm the mod during the day to kill someone. But the name of the sniper will not be revealed. Only who is killed is revealed.

1 mafia hooker
1 mafia role cop

i don't know why myself, but I think it has something to do with once the fool (or jester) is lynched the game ends, and I think the tends to piss people off

oh hahas.... But this is why they have to be careful with their lynch. :D. Guess this doesnt work with forum mafia. Maybe it could work is a smaller setup. Eg 8ppl.

In a closed setup, a Jester will almost always win, disrupting the town in the process. Even if it doesn't end the game, it's awful.

In an Open setup, it's far harder for the Jester to win, but it creates massive paranoia.

Jesters belong in Bastard games, and nowhere else.

Lol. Stop, just stop. I've tried making EM setups in a way that they would work here, it just almost never happens.

You know that Sane/Insane/Naive/Paranoid Cop + Goon setup that was in ranked though? That's Dethy, and I think it's from here.

I disagree. Jester is a fairly common knowledge role so it should be used as such.
