You are a newbie here until you have played 2 games on THIS site, then you qualify as SE (Semi-Experienced), and that is specifically for the newbie games. This helps insure that the newbie queue moves in an expeditious manner.

Also once you have finished your first newbie game on site, you can sign up for as many as you think you can handle and still do a good job of playing. Another option is replacing into a game because someone had to replace out. Hope that helps and look around on site there is a welcome thread for newbies and other topics on site, and feel free to read up on some of the other games while waiting.
