Janna probably needs light clothing to float around like that.

Sivir's based on movement, so no.

Why would you ever play a gamemode where you could possibly face a mirror match.

Hey now, KoC, I've learned a lot by playing mirror 1v1 games with an opponent who's more experienced than me at the champion we're playing.

You're not going to learn much about anything Sion vs Sion mid because they directly counter each other

While you CAN learn things from people who are better than you, chances are that you'll simply learn bad habits. There's no influence from all other lanes (namely, jungle); there's no fighting over buffs/dragon, there's no occasional top-comes-to-mid, there's no jungler ganks. It's the problem of artificial lanes.

To be fair, I mostly meant when I was new to the game and wasn't worried about any of that stuff yet, but fair point.

I -did- learn about the ignite-while-ulting Malzahar trick from a 1v1 mirror game though. :P

Singed mirror match is too much fun. Continiously trying to be the one who runs in front.

Blind pick sucks for the simple reason that you could simply lose the game by pure luck. At least if you do draft mode, it's your own fault you got outpicked.

Theory crafting time. So you get your boots, philo and HoG for your Sona in lane.

What do you do afterwards? Because you aren't really going to be going tanky, You're just expected to get the Aegis and shit like that. The thing with Sona is that she is so very mana hungry I've started getting a Tear as the next item. The issue then is, what to do with it. Just had a game where I finished with Shurelia's, Locket, Mercs, Manamune, Archangels. With my Q I was over 200 Attack and I had over 100 AP and was able to actually provide damage while sending out heals to everyone as I was then close enough to help the tanks as well because I had the damage to warrant my being there.

I know it seems a bit stupid to begin with, however if your team is doing fine without you grabbing an Aegis or a Frozen Heart or whatever people get on supports these days, why not?

I nearly always get Aegis or Reverie after the first three items (Reverie 70%, Aegis 25% roughly). The other 5% is basically if I feel like I can get away with damage, ala Rabadons.

Don't get tear, in general. Manamune/Archangels are generally not worth it, since you can't be in the front lines exactly, nor are those items that cost effective, really. Sona isn't that mana hungry either. It's something to get used to. Esspecially early, don't forget that your aura helps your autoattacks as well. Q is far from your only harrass. At some point the sustain nerfs also made sona's heal rather incapable of keeping their carry in lane. Sure it helps, but it's rather impossible to try to keep them at full health when they keep diving in. Solution is to use w mostly to get the armor buff onto them just before the next hit comes, and not in calm times. There are exceptions of powerfully stupid AD carries who don't like to farm and fight all the time, in which case I think you should get chalice over tear. It's cheaper, it gives another useful stat, and the endresult you want (lots of mana), is the same as with tear. This is just for those games where you'll lose unless you heal every 4 seconds. Those are rare, and also tend to be the games where you are using sona wrong. She's made to be an aggressor in lane, and being on the offensive is a lot cheaper mana-wise then keeping your ad carry healthy.

Shurelia's is kinda mandatory. Aegis is always nice, mostly if the AP carry is bothering people. I tend to gun for randouins over locket (I really dislike that item) if the ad carry is bothering us, and rather fail in achieving it then having to buy locket. In case my carry is vayne and particulary fed or farmed, zeke's is sure to help out.

If your carry is twitch, go all or nothing, start either long sword or usually amp tome and build the corresponding snowball item. Follow up with Triforce or Rabadons, and hope you can manage to bluff through the game just based on your strong early game. Because, lets face it, twitches aren't going to carry in general. Snowball items are not a good idea, you'll lose more games then you win with them. But if you have to choose between losing by default or grasping a little chance (ending up with 20 stacks and carrying as sona just based on that), I know what I pick. And someone picking twitch is too much of a dick to support anyway.

No, it's pretty stupid all the time. Supporting your team>doing baby amounts of damage.

On that one note of annoying teams-

Jungle Janna, Pantheon mid, WW top, Poppy+Kog bot. We made a Fizz rage the entire game. He switched lanes with Olaf and still kept raging. First time Ive seen jungle Janna actually work.
