Uh. Vi cast a vote, and said that it was lynch -1. (Yeah, there was a "I haven't seen a votecount recently" disclaimer on there that made the whole thing a quasi-joke, but people tend to freak out at even a hint that they're at lynch -1). You really don't think that was a gambit on her part? Vi's too smart to joke about stuff like "lynch -1" at random.

Now it could be that Vi was town and was just trying to get a reaction from Kanye, but it bugs me nonetheless, because it's such a risky play.

You could always, you know, try to understand why I suspect you, and respond to it in a rational way that might help me get a read on you. I mean, could just keep that spamming useless stuff and act like it's valid defense, but all that does is make you look scummier.

Because scum don't want to call people town unless it's buddying or setting them up for something.

They have to keep their options open about who to vote so that they can kill off people who are dangerous to them but at the same time still "suspect" people who are left over. If they have too many town reads they force themselves into a corner. And if all their town reads die it's suspicious because of this exact strategy, so what they have to do is either maintain a steadily "unsure about so-and-so" read on people they want to bring with them to endgame, and hope others lynch their town reads. Which means they have to go against the flow somewhat because they want to pick unpopular town reads, both for the reason that they can say "hey guys, I told you he/she was town" when they flip, but also for the reason I'm trying to point out, which is that they want their town reads to die so they have an excuse to be suspicious of more people who are still alive, thus not pigeonholing themselves into acting in certain ways. Gotta keep your options open.

Therefore, a person with a good number of strong town reads, that they stick to (!), is very likely town.
