I was going to read it but then I read a review online that spoiled the ending so I got bored and skimmed through "Rogue Herrys" by Hugh Walpole, a good read if a bit dry in the middle.

How can you give him the benefit of the doubt of a scum slip? And why would you pull that benefit over something not at all pertaining to the actual slip? He didn't vote Knox for bringing it up, that didn't even factor into it.
