Uhh. One thing I could see is being furion, being in one lane while your treants lasthit creeps in other lanes, to which you could add more bullshit like midas or dominator, but it can't actually happen in a real game.

I've done a little math on the Ryze changes. Turns out Archangel's and RoA are slightly more viable than before with overload. RoA gives 219 damage to rank 5 overload now versus 210, and Archangel's gives 266 now instead of 262. When combined they give 373 damage versus 336. So slightly more effective. Also, I ran the numbers on getting Frozen Heart. Turns out overload is actually more effective now with Frozen heart, because decrease in mana ration only loses you about 5 damage, which is more than made up for by the +20 boost given the base damage. Actually, if you built 4,000 mana on Ryze, you would lose 57 damage from the mana ratio and ultimate change. Add in the +20 to base damage and the slight increase on the AP ratio and you're pretty much breaking even, especially if you built an Archangel staff. Spell Flux was also buffed, but Rune Prison was unquestionably nerfed both on duration and damage.

Another thing is they increased the base attack damage and doubled the speed. If you've ever played as Ryze, then you know that his auto attack is piss poor at farming. I haven't tried him out yet, but the buff to his auto attack might make it easier to farm with your auto attack and be able to save your spells in the early game.

Now that I've done the math, it almost seems like a buff, except for Rune Prison.

I actually found out that at 3,000 mana you are doing more damage than before. Overload breaks even or is slightly positive, Rune Prison you lose about 25 from the mana ratio and ultimate, but you gain 30 on spell flux. The real downside is that 0.25 second nerf on Rune Prison. Does that mean some champs will get away that couldn't otherwise? If they do, just pop your r and use the bonus movement speed.

It's a flat out buff.

Movement speed on his ult will be godlike, lots better then before.

his e was (I think to remember) already one of the best abilities if you considered total damage and an ap build. The fact that you are no enticed to build ap, the thing has gotten a mana scaling, and the biggest weakness it had (namely the fact that it's only the best if it hits enemies every hit) is partially resolved by changing it's priorities.

yep. They tied to counteract the nerfs to mana/mana scaling with a couple of other boons... and overdid it.

I think with this change they wanted to change what Ryze players build, but I don't see that happening. I mean, I was already building Archangles and RoA, and now I can do that and still rape. The problem with these changes is that too many mana items also give AP.

I dont necessarily agree with some of those green combinations. Dont think its horriblely wrong, but not completely right. (specially the vayne soraka one)

I've never seen that combo be very effective at all. I mean it can work, any combo can "work"- it's just not that great.

And I always do super well with soraka/vayne. It's a better combo than you might think.
