Wicked Blades Draven's Critical Strikes deal bonus physical damage over time. Spinning Axe also causes this effect even if it does not Critically Strike.

Spinning Axe Draven's next attack will deal bonus damage. This axe will ricochet off the target high up into the air. If Draven catches it, he automatically readies another Spinning Axe. Draven can have two Spinning Axes at once.

Blood Rush Draven gains increased Movement Speed and Attack Speed. The Movement Speed bonus decreases rapidly over its duration. Catching a Spinning Axe will refresh the cooldown of Blood Rush.

Stand Aside Draven throws his axes, dealing physical damage to targets hit and knocking them aside. Targets hit are slowed.

Whirling Death Draven hurls two massive axes to deal physical damage to each unit struck. Whirling Death slowly reverses direction and returns to Draven after striking an enemy champion. Draven may also activate this ability while the axe is in the flight to cause it to return early. Deals less damage for each unit it hits and resets when the axes reverse direction.

Soon, all Draven’s executions became a gauntlet through which Noxian prisoners raced for a final chance at life. He used this trial as his own personal stage, and turned executions into a leading form of entertainment. He rallied onlookers into a frenzy, while desperate prisoners scrambled to evade him. They never succeeded. Rejecting the solemn, black uniforms of Noxian executioners Draven donned bright outfits and developed flashy signature moves to distinguish himself. Crowds flocked to see Draven in action, and tales of his performances spread quickly. As his popularity grew, so did his already-inflated ego. He belonged at the center of attention. Before long, the scope of his ambitions outgrew the population of Noxus. He decided that the glorious exploits of Draven should be put on display for the entire world.

Beastmaster's signature skill is his boomerang axes. They could have made Draven throw

anything

else, swords, scythes, inexplicable bladed things, who knows. But no, they went with axes. In addition, one of the other signature things about Beastmaster is that he attacks really really fast thanks to his passive, what does Draven do? Oh he has an ability that lets him attack realy really fast. (Also Beastmaster's passive used to be an increasing attack speed buff with each attack like Jax's new passive, it was changed much later because it was more appropriate on a different hero.)

Like, if Draven was throwing anything else then it'd just be 'heh i see that reference you made there riot', but it's axes which turns it into 'really Riot? You couldn't even be arsed to change the weapon type?'

It just shows a level of laziness that makes me a sad panda.

It does look like an awful hero, though.

I don't see why it really matters at all anyway.
LoL takes inspiration from a lot of things, and I think a lot of that is what makes it such a great game.
Nothing is ever completely original, especially when it comes to character concepts and designs.
I mean, as long as it's not a blatant copy where "Sonic the Hedgehog" is now "Sanic the HadgeHeg", where he's green and likes chili cheese fries instead of chili dogs... then why even complain about it?

The only thing I don't like is that they are releasing this guy right after Darius, and that feels really boring to me. I'll only be excited if he turns out to be AP. =P

He looks kind of meh to me, though.

darius is a bruiser, draven is ranged ad. They share some thematic similarities (axes and noxus) but that's about it - their skillsets are very different. I think his skillset looks pretty fun, overall.

True, but when they first released the picture of Draven, I did a double take. For a second there, I thought they just released two noxian bruisers back-to-back.
