You could be a good endgame player if you make better choices. Like me, where I should learn not to fakeclaim. But, I'll admit, you gave it a good run earlier. You pulled something out of your hat... except it wasn't a bunny.

mcqueen, I recommend that for your next several games, you don't fakeclaim as town, even if you really want to. (And don't fakeclaim unprompted as scum, only if at L-1 or during a massclaim.) I think you could be a good player if you didn't try to overgambit.

He also needs to read and remember things. For example, there's the obvious voting a confirmed townie yesterday. And then, even after the game ended, and with izak having confirmed all the alignments in the dead thread, he was speculating that you were a werewolf.

Actually, I misread the Dead QuickTopic, and thought the scumteams were in the ratio 4:2. So I thought cfj was a Werewolve. And that post was before izakthegoomba posted the endgaming votecount.

This is actually a sad truth about the way Mafia games normally work. It's in scum's interest to kill players who help the town, so you end up with the less useful town players.

You can't blame me personally for it, though; ever since I replaced in, I pushed for crosskilling until the other scumteam was entirely dead, and by then, it was hardly "early on".

I thought it was the list mod who locked old game threads, not the game mod. (And for large themes, there's no real reason for them not to stay open pretty much indefinitely, because they don't have a numerical order that they have to be sorted in.)

Oh, and to clean something up that Tierce might be wondering about: this is probably my first scum game where I was fully aware I was scum, and who my buddies were, at all times. Too much scheming was needed to win to just float around townishly and eventually get caught by PoE, which is my usual MO as scum. (And the powerbussing was because I thought it was my only chance to win, as my scumbuddies were inevitably going to get lynched before lylo.)

PEDIT: @Tierce, I think I did a decent job at cheering RedPanda up in the mason QT. Even though he decided I was scum before long. (Scum players are often more fun to play with than town players, incidentally; this is IMO a reasonably reliable scumtell for DGB, if you're

really enjoying

playing with her she's probably scum.)

The mafia QT posts were pretty terrible before you replaced in, imo. It seems like Haddock and dana were more interested in sowing confusion than in outright winning the game, which is rather mindblowing. Starting to work on fakeclaims only six weeks into the game? How do you expect your early game to have consistency with your supposed role when you delay things like that?

I wasn't under the illusion that my scumbuddies were likely to last too long (I think I said as much directly in the QT). Although I did try to keep them alive for a day upon replacing in, so that I could go talk to them, and it was genuinely useful, I don't think I could have won without talking things through to help understand the gamestate. (I can't read Amrun, but apparently Captain Haddock can.)
