yessssss a legit ARAM map
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
Now when I feel like playing a game 75% likely to be decided in champion select, I can do it on a map that's harder to break silly rules on. YES!

now if only they could make it so I could queue for aram and not wait 20 minutes to get into a game without someone dodging, I would probably do something drastic like offer up my uterus for Riot employee babymaking or something- quadz08

well it's not like I was gonna use it, anyway
I'd be fine with it as long as they were kind enough to remove aforementioned uterus from my body first- quadz08

basically the team they faced were a bunch of people who all come from fighting game backgrounds.
They stomped and dicked around a bunch both games.
I personally could care less as to them doing this(as other teams have dicked around in tournaments/qualifiers in one way or another.), but can see how it could offend people.ShowRumpelstiltskin Grinder

Keep in mind that the following wall of text was written at 5:30 AM and is likely going to be a sleep-deprived pile of circuitous logic and word mush.
I will always feel that, for the most part, there is a time and place for dicking around and a time and place for more professional conduct. The idea of eSports being taken seriously revolves a large amount around said professional conduct - look at any sporting event, see that while there are people with big personalities, they're still at least doing their best to do what they get paid to do (play the game). The first game (at very least the first one; the second was much, much tighter and more focused) in TSM vs MRN was instead a show of TSM continuing to dick around in big-time matches. Granted, MRN is one of the weakest teams in the field and to be entirely honest has no business being in the tournament in the first place, but that is no excuse for anything before that gets said.
TSM as a whole seems more focused around dicking around to draw bigger stream numbers to see their HILARIOUS ANTICS than they are in actually performing in tournaments. This is further shown when you consider the in2LOL NA kickoff tournament earlier in the week. The most notable thing about the tournament (which had mTw.NA managing to beat Dignitas in a 2-0 final) was not the end result, nor any big plays or great matches that were had. The most notable thing about the tournament was TSM having to forfeit in the first round because Chaox and Dyrus went out for noodles and to buy Dyrus a new phone charger.
No, I am not joking. This is two players on a team who value noodles and a phone charger over a tournament.
The better part of this comes more when you consider Dyrus' flawless response to the situation on his twitter account:
"not my fault someone lost my charger and I had to spend 10 minutes in the phone store to buy a new one for 40 bucks"
Let's consider further the implications of this, and why the LoL communityactually encouragesthis sort of behavior. The simple truth is that the majority of income for any pro player at the moment is stream income. Thus, the most important thing for a pro player (at least financially) is to put on a show, draw in stream numbers, and keep people watching so they get more ad revenue. This means that anyone who can get people to tune into a stream is going to be the one making the money this week. And yes, these antics get viewers, so I can't say personally that I don't understand why they act like that nor do I necessarily begrudge them for it. I do, however, fail to have any little bit of respect for Dyrus, for Chaox, and for Regi.
I do have respect for Xpecial and to a somewhat lesser extent OddOne - they did partake in a bit of the dickery I was talking about in the TSM vs MRN game, but I feel that they're still committed to playing the game and playing the gamewell. OddOne is a good example of someone who can separate out the show from the business - he rages on his stream constantly, but I've never seen him just outright doing stupid shit because he can in a tournament game, nor have I ever seen him put his own personal pleasure and fun over his team's (especially in a tournament setting, where it was well-known what time they needed to be there for their match). That sort of thing is hard for me to have any respect for.
I would like to note my objection to the word "offended". I don't find it offensive what they did because there is a clear and obvious reason for why they did so - I do find it disrespectful and bad form. I would like to note my deep regret for those games I casted way over back (before someone brings that up) where I spent the entire time being an annoying douche about things (and my love of the work I did when casting with Patrick/Elmo, both of whom I felt really brought out the best in me for those matches).
I've made a lot of talk about tournaments and whatnot and not a lot of talk about why they're important to the scene. One only needs to look at viewer numbers as an example of how important they are - the people who want to watch this game are naturally attracted to tournaments as a whole. More viewers equals more income through ad revenue and upsold streaming packages (HD being #1 here). More income equals higher production values, higher prize pools, and more tournaments as a whole. All of those are goodfor the viewer. Your average viewer tunes in to see their favorite teams playing their hardest against one another. I'm not going to waste my time arguing that nobody tunes in to see what ridiculous shit TSM will do. In fact, a large portion of my argument rests on the fact that people tune in to watch TSM play.
So what happens when TSM doesn't play because they're hungry or their phone charger is missing or they're having a pissy fit over the tournament rules? Those people who tuned injustto watch TSM disappear, viewer counts drop, income drops, all those nice things mentioned above get a little bit weakened. While stream income is important, much fewer people would give a shit who these people were if it were not for tournaments drawing attention to them. It hurts the professional scene as a whole. It doesn't really hurt TSM much - sure, a few uptight bitter assholes like myself will drop off of their viewing numbers, but people will still tune in because Dyrus is wearing a suit of armor made out of pillows powered by his phone charger while eating noodles.
At the end of the day, TSM is a business. I understand that. Doesn't mean I have to respect them for it.
PS: Before someone asks how they're supposed to get stream viewers without this shit, I cite scarra as a prime example. Dignitas is by far the single most professional team on the circuit right now (although qtpie is a completely reprehensible player). Scarra spends his streams talking with viewers, commentating every little thing he does in a game, and in general acting more like a teacher and a lecturer than a carnival sideshow. Let's also look at Guardsman Bob - sure, he gets a lot of viewers for his playlist and stuffed penguins and teemo hats. He's also someone who, while focused on putting on a show since he's not an active pro player in the same sense as the rest of them, still does so in a respectful way.
I wouldn't be happy if everyone on the tournament scene was scarra or Guardsman Bob before anyone starts throwing around the accusation of me wanting the scene to be a lilywhite lovefest where everyone settles differences with a nice stiff handshake and a gentlemanly understanding. At the end of the day, eSports will be like any other sport - people will have their favorite teams and their favorite players. Doesn't mean I have to agree.

Also re: ONM.b stuff - going to look at stuff over the weekend, spend some time thinking it over. I have someone lined up who will be acting as captain if it gets off the ground, but we'd like to make sure we have all our ducks in a row and are 100% willing to commit to extending to a second team (a lot of my gut feeling is that we should wait until we have results, but there's also my brain telling me we didn't care about results in the past and there's no reason to start now) before we put anything solid out there. Still time to put your names in the ring if people are interested in playing for us, just send me a PM.Copyright © MafiaScum. All rights reserved.
