I still don't understand why you want to protect Vanilla Towns? The is absolutely no benefit in jailing Town. If Sword was a High target for Mafia, which I don't know how you get to that conclusion, they'll just kill him night 2.

It is pointless to argue with you, if you are not even going to acknowledge the opposing viewpoints. Your only argument is that they'll be alive the next day. Whoopity-doo. Now what? They die the next night, you resolve nothing. I am only Quarantining 3 people, so if today get's to no quarantine because we don't agree, fine by me. I am not discussing this anymore.

The only time it would be ok to take a stab in the dark is if there had been a massclaim. That's not going to happen, nor should it. So we should be keeping people around.

If none of us have any more to go on then why the fuck does it matter who the hell we quarantine. We aren't going to stop the scumkill so we may as well make sure that we have one of the sane people around for longer. Hell you don't even have to agree. If someone doesn't have issue with being quarantined then there is literally no drawback for us to do it. If they are town and they don't have an issue well then who cares. If they are scum they need to look like they have no issue with it to even stay alive. WE LITERALLY HAVE NO BAD CONSEQUENCES FROM EVEN USING IT RANDOMLY AT THIS STAGE. Even if you don't think sword is town, who in the actual fuck cares. Just quarantine the guy and keep someone that is actually engaging in discussion alive. Why him? Why not him, it doesn't fucking matter who, but for now he has support and most people seem to think he is town so we may as fucking well.

Run the scenarios. Not one person has an incentive to publicly say "don't quarantine me." VTs won't mind the protection, and town PRs know it's better to be blocked for one night than to tip off scum. If nobody on the town has any reason to reject quarantine, the scum know they also can't get away with it, regardless of the harm it might do to their faction. In short, we can very easily hurt the town by quarantining, even if the person we target says it's a good idea.

@Guille: Your read on Mala is mostly a culture/meta thing. Most of her early posts are fluff/useless, but the content I've seen so far hasn't convinced me she's scum. Her blind faith in Esp's claim is odd, but she's stuck to it and hasn't wielded it like a cudgel.
This is a contrast from Ser, who (like Mala, oddly enough) hopped off the Esp wagon and became one of his biggest defenders. I have no idea what happened between 205 and 235, and that worries me, especially considering that he went on to call Esp wagon supporters out for "opportunistic scumminess" (267). The whole flip seems unnatural and kind of cynical. Frankly, I'm much better at thinking about how wagons get started than thinking about how they end (hence my confusion with why voting stalled for the last few days), but I can't find any obvious scum-interest in Ser's acrobatics, or at least none that cut through the WIFOM. I am, however, suspicious enough to make him my second choice:

Relevant to the above paragraph but also to other players. Making vague pronouncements about mysterious theories and secret knowledge is rock stupid play. If it has to wait until tomorrow, it can wait until tomorrow, and if you need to use private information to make a point, then put up or shut up. Taking half-measures gets you the worst of both worlds.

The problem with Mala is the way she said what she said about Espe. There was nothing really in him to make anybody trust him, yet she did. However, I understand the meta behind it. I come from a forum that plays differently too. We normally don't lynch the first day, and the games run much faster.
