I want to suggest a rule.

All players should flip and collect the same tile in the same post.

I.E, If you want to flip tile E2, you must collect E2 in that same post.

Further, I want to lay down a policy of not collecting unflipped tiles.

Basically, my reasoning is that I don't want people collecting unknown letters. That will ensure people are locked down into claims later, AND let us track the scum fucking up our Night Actions etc.

The other reason for flipping+taking at the same time is so that scum cannot co-ordinate their letter taking. With 9 town to 3 scum, if people are taking letters without looking at them, there is a higher chance town will develop more usable abilities.

So basically:

1) You may not take an unflipped tile
2) You may not take a tile you have not flipped.
3) You must take a tile in the same post you flip it in.

I'd like you to elaborate on the bolded assertion because I do not understand how you are drawing that conclusion given that

A. People are effectively choosing blindly under your system.
B. There are tiles that do not allow for Valid Word Combinations.

Plus, we will know exactly what letters have been drawn, so scum will have a hard time secretly manipulating our actions without being caught.

If it turns out to be useless for them, they are acting as a blocker for scum taking that letter.

If you have 2 junk tiles, you'll need to make multiple draws to get what you need regardless. So, see above.

I think your thought process here is flawed.

The number of Town players drawing letters is going to outnumber at the outset regardless of whether we utilize your system or not.

Scum have a Nightkill regardless of what combination of letters they pull.

Town, being inherently more numerous, have a higher likelihood of drawing one of the 11 invalid tiles than scum do.

Flipping and grabbing in the same post eliminates any ability of Town to work towards building words cooperatively and deductively assessing whose grabs are not Town motivated while simultaneously assuring that scum have 100% access to the full complement of chosen letters.

I don’t see any way you can suggest the plan your are floating is actually going to increase Town Power-role generation. Since all Abilities are 1-shot (per Post 2 and shown in your own role PM your plan seems to me to assure that the number of useable Town abilities is stifled and scum isn't in the dark about anything.

I'd prefer Arugula's plan to yours as it stands. And I hate his plan.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the closer we play this game to vanilla, the worse it is for town. If we play it completely random, I wouldn't count on any 3-letter word any earlier than Night 3, even then, if we only get say one or two of them, they could be scum's. The more we produce, the more we reduce variance. Producing two scum 3-letter words and six town 3-letter words for the game is far superior to one or two 3-letter words, with a chance of scum getting its sole use.

I couldn't disagree more. I think the closer we play this to vanilla, the BETTER it becomes for town.

Seriously, name me one ability that scum can outdraw town on, that will benefit them if the town is short on abilities to begin with?

(I.E: A roleblocker helps scum much less if there are way less things to actually roleblock.)

It will, however, inhibit the potential for Town roles that could detect scum from forming in an efficient manner.

Why should town work towards a power standard? What is there to gain from having tons of powers running around, as opposed to having this be as close to powerless as possible.

The main reason why I try and avoid arguing with you is the same reason why I try and avoid arguing with religious people.

You blew your flip and collect on a silly idea, and if worse comes to worst, and you don't come around, you can play the game however you want and I won't bother trying to stop you. I'm confident the likes of Magna, Aurorus, Amrun, Ice, whisper etc. are sensible enough to see your plan is rubbish, so I don't have to try and convince you.

You're aware 9:3 mountainous is about a 10-20% (tops) winrate for town, right? Town hasn't won a 2:10 or 2:11 mountainous before, let alone 3:9 (even though we're in 3:10).
