Silence reigned for a few moments after the supernatural message appeared on the ground. It seemed no one was quite willing to be the first to speak.

Finally, someone spoke up "So, I guess... we should try to figure this out?"

It was as if a floodgate had opened. Suddenly everyone was talking at once, some expressing fear and confusion, others immediately beginning the job of deciding who would be the first to die.

A voting system was outlined and then implemented. Votes were cast and recanted. Those who had initially thought that it would be a simple task to find the demons among them were proven wrong.

Finally, someone gained a majority of the votes. Suddenly the words on the ground flashed brighter, then quickly faded away, to be replaced by a new message: "So be it."

Kcdaspot was scared. He didn't think he'd done anything wrong. "I'm not a demon! I swear, get me some holy water and I'll pour it on myself! Please..."

Everyone else slowly backed away, until he was left alone at the center of the circle. Once again, the words flashed, and suddenly Kcdaspot was burning. A fire hotter than anything natural, too bright to look at, consumed him within seconds, leaving behind only a tortured scream.

A new message slowly came into existence where Kcdaspot had stood seconds before.

"You have chosen poorly. Now you may rest. At dawn, you must start again."

Sleep did not come easily. When it did, it was restless and filled with strange noises.

Harsh laughter. Cracking bones. Screams of pain. Nightmares that most were unprepared for.

When dawn broke, it became clear that the nightmares were not restricted to their minds. One was taking place right in front of them.

A body rested in the middle of the shelf, if you could call it a body. Broken bones and organs were sticking out at odd angles and splayed about randomly. This person had literally been torn apart.

A quick check of the stunned and disgusted faces revealed the identity of the bloody mess. The one known as TeChNoWC was dead. The demons among them had struck. The side of good had lost another of its soldiers.

As a new message burned its way into the ground, the remains themselves began to burn with the same supernatural flame that had consumed Kcdaspot the day before. By the time the message was clear, the shelf was once again clean and free of the gore it had woken up to.

"One must die today."

Howdy!

I'm on page 7 and plan on getting as far as possible tonight. So far, I'm fairly certain Near is town. Giitah's first in-game post was pretty spectacular, and Giitah's next few posts make me want him to be town, so let's make that slot town. Thor665 has been acting like town, too, but there are a couple of things I need to look into first beyond catching up in here before I can solidify that read and make it a sure thing. Psyche's statement that he would wait until page 5 before contributing is a minor town tell.

That said, if I were to put down a vote right now, I'd put it on Arugula for lackluster opening play and TeChNoWC's observation about Arugula's play here compared to past meta. No other scum reads yet.

Anyway, time to keep reading. If there's anything you'd like me to read right away, please link me to it; otherwise, see you guys again in a few hours (hopefully).

This is important:

If Thor665 flips chosen townie at any point, Shattered Viewpoint is town.

Shattered Viewpoint and Thor665 have a history, and I am certain that Shattered Viewpoint would have pushed for a veto of Thor665 if he were scum over any protests Shattered Viewpoint's buddy might have made. Therefore, if no veto on Thor665 was made, that clears Shattered Viewpoint.

Near is town.

Giitah and Thor665 are most likely town based on their play in this game; I still need to read a Thor665 scum game just because I'm not at all familiar with it and want to be sure before writing him off as town, but otherwise I would not consider a Thor665 lynch today. Hyperion is town-ish. I think his observations while he went through everyone's isolated posts were good, but I'd like to see him engaged in the game in real time to get a better feel.

I'm not sure I buy Thor665's logic about Shattered Viewpoint being less likely scum due to his poor hammer on Kcdaspot. With apologies to Shattered Viewpoint, Shattered Viewpoint isn't known to be someone who, uh, actually plays the games he's in. I'm not sure what his recent scum meta has been like, though, so I probably should check up on that a little later. On the other hand, I don't know if Shattered Viewpoint would so blatantly follow Arugula's vote like that if Arugula were his buddy, so... bleh.

Anyway, L-1 votes aren't recommended as long as Shattered Viewpoint hasn't contributed something more substantial than fluff, useless one-line reads, or irresistible hammers.

Pretty sure of Arugula being scum. Beyond the stuff I mentioned in post 321, Arugula stated that he had been on Kcdaspot's side "for a while now" in post 205 despite never defending Kcdaspot beyond the whole "Kcdaspot might be a chosen townie!" debacle, even when Kcdaspot lingered at L-2 for most of the Day -- since post 38, actually -- and was everyone's favorite punching bag for about the same amount of time.

Thor is scum.

Please explain this in detail.
