I thought I'd try to learn yorick and they sent talon top against me.
lawl
Poor Talon... FB'd like that, shouldn't have gotten in my face at level 3... :<
Then when Talon gave up they sent... Varus top... to replace him... ._.
My only real problems was when Talon was top he was still managing to almost keep up in farm with me, I really need to learn how to ZONE better.- quadz08

5 man top 2stronk
3 people called top right when champion select started, so I called top jokingly and then we all just kind of mutually decided to pick fast pushing champions and go all top. Took our blue, invaded their red, 5-man ganked their garen, and had the first tower down in a few minutes. We pretty much eliminated the laning phase entirely. It looked like we were going to lose at first purely based on kills, but our pushing ability kept us from losing too many towers and then our malph carried us in teamfights. Much banter and shittalking was had on both sides, but at the end all 10 of us decided we'd had a blast.
Definitely the most fun solo queue game I've had in ages. Just had to share.- Espeonage

So I have played a total of two games recently with Kat. One was in a MS premade where I got stuck against a Ren and managed to survive and do well. And the other happened earlier today. I thought I'd be in top lane against a Shen. So I decided to take a slow to start hypercarry to make the most of his weak damage early. So I put it to my team. Kat or Trynd. They told me to play Kat so I did. But then it all started going sour and their Shen turned out to be a support Shen. I got stuck against a Lee Sin. I almost shat myself. However he wasn't a very great Lee Sin. I managed to coax him into tower diving me at level 6 and managed to narrowly kill him with about 40 health left. I was off to a decent start. And then it just started going well. I picked up a few kills as the laning phase dissolved and things went well.
All in all, Kat is fun against bad people who give you an opportunity. It's amazing how many lame predictable shunpo jukes work.Don't @ me.- PJ.

pretty funny you make such pretentious post and wonder why no one wants to play with you, also funny that you call people bad when your status is "will duo for elo" and have never been above 1200Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- Fate

Eh, I see what he's getting at though. Kat isn't a hypercarry in that it's not like Kat's scaling is super strong, it's just that if she gets a bit of an early edge she can really ride it out. But if I could pick a hero to just afk farm 15k and rock out with kat is way way down on the list compared to Kayle/Jax/Tyrnd/Nasus/all of the ADs."Don’t buy a dozen eggs if you just want a hardboiled egg. Don’t buy a head of lettuce if you just want a salad. Don’t buy eggs and lettuce if you want egg salad because those are not the right ingredients." -Julius Bloop- Shanba

Probably, but I actually think its a good distinction to be making. Power curves are far less linear than people like to say. People tend to lazily classify stuff as early game, late game, mid game etc but in reality something like kat doesnt follow those distinctions - she's really strong if she has an item lead, thanks to her passive and her predilection for buying spellvamp (one of the snowballiest mechanics in the game), but she struggles to do much of anything if she's behind.
For another example, take udyr and vayne. Imagine them with three completed major items - against a team with an average of two completed major items per player, they're both going to be very threatening. But if the udyr/vayne were against a team with an average of four major completed items per player instead, theyre both going to be behind but the vayne will be more threatening in that scenario than the udyr - depending on teamcomps, of course, but just due to the way melee heroes and particularly melee heroes without gap closers work, a character like udyr needs to have tempo on his side to be effective. For yet another example, singed is a little unlike udyr in that he can be really threatening even when behind in items, but past a certain point (when the enemies have enough pen) he drops off, no matter how fed - and in that respect hes also like udyr.(10:50:24 PM) xcaykex: GODDAMNIT I DONT WANNA GET RID OF MY TENTACLE RAPE PORN

Looking at it from an (admittably unreliable) statistical perspective, the correct answers are Rumble (59.54% chance of winning, highest solo queue win rate), Malphite (55.65%, 2nd), and Yorick (53.57%, 8th). Olaf (46.56%, 86th) and Riven (48.78%, 65th) are statistically bad picks.
I'll try to see if I can sort out some data specifically for our elo though, Panzer.- esuriospiritus

Well, winning is good but I mean like carrying. Like my other roles aren't playing good so i need corral these chucklefucks together and kill bitchs. Yorick and Malph seem like guys that you need teammates. (i'd definitely consider learning both yorick and malph for ONM obv, but it wasn't exactly what i was asking.)Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich. - PJ.
