Aw, I missed the Amrun wagon? That's a shame. Oh well, this wagon is nice, too.
unvote, vote: Vash, L-2, assuming my math isn't retarded.
Quilford wrote:You thought Staeg was setting up justification for a bad fakeclaim? Considering scum are usually given fakeclaims from the moderator, who knows every single other role in the game, any fakeclaim Staeg would give should he be scum would be indistinguishable from a townie's Role PM
I didn't think it was standard for scum to get full fake-claims. I assumed that scum would get a list of history figures that are definitely not in the game, but not roles for them as well. So my thought was that if he was scum and needed to fake-claim, if he got agreement from his assertion that flavor and role don't need to match-up, he would have more flexibility in what to claim. But, he was against the name-claim, which gave me more of a pro-town lean on him.Is it any wonder things seem so awry? We swim in a sea of confusion and don't have to think to survive, so nobody listens!- Nexus

I still would like to hear from 666 (DCLXVI) why he believed that the nameclaim request from IceGuy was more likely to come from scum. I've asked this twice before (#68 and #139), and have been ignored both times.
@ChaosOmega: you voted Bitmap because you "hate when players relish in the fact that they're not very good", because it "allows a player to have a better chance of getting away with scummy behavior". Do you believe that Bitmap is intentionally playing up inexperience in order to get away with scummy behaviour? And do you believe he only would do so if he is scum?
Vash's #159 is completely useless. It's a lot of text, but virtually never gives actual opinions, and never gives an explanation for those opinions. This is giving us absolutely nothing to form an opinion on him. Unsure if he's being intentionally unhelpful, let's see how his posting develops. His #204 and #206 are slightly better, but are only on a single player. Why single out MattP?
Scumslip?Staeg, post #160, bolding mine wrote:In post 158, ChaosOmega wrote:My first thought when reading it was him setting up justification for a fake claim and a PR that don't mesh flavor-wise.
Why? Someone already said thatwehave ten gajillion people to claim, can'twefind one that suits our role?
Bitmap is giving of lots of NewbieVI tells. I really don't like how CO wants to lynch him in #219 over what is essentially null. I also really don't like how Staeg unvotes CO virtually immediately after that post. Whenever a player votes Bitmap, they should be arguing why the thing they're voting on is more likely to come from scumVI then from townVI (unless they want to argue that Bitmap is faking VI and would only do so as scum).
@MattP: in #187, you say that you've never seen Vash as scum. In #222, you call yourself "the guy that's played like 100 games with him", and use this to argue that your scumread on him can be trusted. It seems to me there's a contradiction there. Explanation please?
@Scooby #224: do you believe I would only be polite as scum?
Regarding Bitmap's signature: it seems to me that Bitmap simply wants to emphasize his inexperience. "I am always perceived as scum, regardless of alignement". Quoting #229 by Iceguy in sig fits this behaviour. This means that I believe Bitmap would quote this regardless of whether he is town or scum in this game. I'm getting the general feeling that he's trying to scumhunt and therefore is town, but definately don't consider him confirmed.
The exchange between Scooby and Amrun around page 11-12 has a town on town feeling. Scooby's getting tunnelvisioned, but what he's attacking Amrun for - the interrogation of Bitmap - actually seems a towntell to me.
666's attack on Amrun #301 is extremely poor. That Amrun failed to pick up from the post by the mod what happened does not make Amrun more likely scum. And I don't believe for one moment that Amrun faked not picking that up, especially if, as 666 seems to suggest, the reason for faking would be to be able to express being upset.
Could anyone summarize where the suspicion on Shamrock is coming from? CO is my top suspect, and Vash hasn't done anything to make me believe he's town, but I haven't really picked up anything suspicious from Shamrock.
@mod doublechecking:

I've played like 100 games with Vash yet he has never been scum in them. He can verify this.SlappyKrust- MattP

But why would you do that in that specific situation?Staeg wrote:No, michel, that's not a scumslip. I was intentionally talking as if I was scum.
Then why do you feel you can accurately judge his scummeta, as you seem to imply in #222?MattP wrote:I've played like 100 games with Vash yet he has never been scum in them. He can verify this. There is no 'a' in Michel.- MattP

Because I know his town play like the back of my hand
Vash is also being incredibly lurky. He is the most vocal town player I've ever played with. He has a completed Newbie game here, look at it for reference.SlappyKrust- Staeg

Oh give me a fucking break, wtf is up with these cheap punches at "scumslips" recently? If you don't add a conditional it's a scumslip? Absolute fucking bullshit, people don't always say, "If I was scum, not that I am," what a fucking idiotic argument. MSH find a better lead because that's shitSlappyKrust- MattP

I see no reason to be overly aggressive, when you get just as far with being polite. If you're trying to get reactions, people are far more likely to cooperate when you ask them nicely. If you believe someone is scum and want to get them lynched, you are more likely to convince others if you bring your argument in a calm and rational manner. You'll find that my tone is rather polite in all games I'll play.
I think you're dismissing Staegs reaction being a scumslip a bit too easily, Matt. I believe that as town, it's far more natural to say "Why? Someone already said that there are ten gajillion people to claim, can't mafia find one that suits their role?" rather then the "we" and "our" that Staeg used. No need for a conditional at all. Even "Why? Someone already said that there are ten gajillion people to claim, couldn't I find one that suits my role?" would sit far better with me. CO accused Staeg of individually setting up a fakeclaim, yet Staeg responded as a member of the mafia group.
Your answers to my questions are satisfying. I originally got the impression that you might be trying to bluff the town into following you, but there's some reasoning for your confidence in your Vash read. There is no 'a' in Michel.- Staeg
