So DCLXVI, since you still are suspicious of Iceguy for it, when will you finally be explaining why the mass nameclaim was more likely to come from scum in your opinion? To me, it seems that your entire "case" against Iceguy comes down to behaviour that is in no way indicative of scum (bandwagoning in RVS, which is a slight towntell, and asking for a mass nameclaim, which hints at role info and is therefore a slight towntell as well).
I know that I am terrible at finding powerroles as scum myself. I also don't have experience with scum rolefishing in the sense that I could not point to a particular post in a finished game and quote a scum quicktopic to prove that the player in question was clearly rolefishing. Still, there are various way in which you can enter a discussion regarding powerroles, and encouraging other players to give info away is not a pro-town one.DeasVail wrote:Do you have any experience with scum rolefishing?
@the players voting Vash: the pressure votes don't really seem to have much effect on his activity. Do you believe he's active lurking (intentionally posting just enough to avoid being prodded without adding anything)? It feels to me that it's more likely he's simply inactive, because otherwise he would probably have responded to the votes by now.
I believe ChaosOmega a far better lynch. He makes hardly any attempt to get alignement related info out of other players, he doesn't give any opinions unless specifically asked for them, his votes go to inexperienced or inactive players without any indication whatsoever why he believes them scum, and his responses at the beginning of the game seem designed more to get information about the relation between name and power in players roles rather then actually discussing the merits of a mass nameclaim or trying to find scum based on the reactions to that proposition.
I could live with Staeg (#160 really doesn't feel natural town response to me) or 666 (his attack on Iceguy feels completely wrong) pressure as well, but there doesn't seem to be any interest for that, for some reason. There is no 'a' in Michel.- MattP

If you actually read my iso you would have found the answer in my first few posts.
You even answered the question in your own post.

but in case you somehow missed it in my iso, here is what I said a lot earlier:

you're the one that is completely fucking dense staeg, did you not just read my last post? Let me highlight some stuff I just said.
"Um...It's history mafia. That means scum have 4000+ years of fakeclaim's they can use. This has pretty much 0 potential to catch scum and a decent chance of hurting town by outing a claim that would likely be a pr."
"But this really doesn't matter since the scum have an unlimited source of potential fake-claims which makes any claiming scenario at this point a bad idea."
---------
My whole point was that a name-claim might out town power roles which would definitely help scum.
AND, since it will be easy to fakeclaim a mass nameclaim will have no chance of catching scum.
so in other words, what ICE suggested for us to do had0chance of catching scum, and thepossibility of outing town power roles.Sarcasm isnota scumtell.- MattP
