It's getting late. You've noticed that since you started this odd tournament earlier today, your IM convo has been subject more and more to mob mentality. As the danger of losing has grown, so too has your friends' ruthlessness. One awkward misphrasing, one suggestion that maybe a certain abbreviation is legal, throwing out a proper noun as a good word to play... all could see you kicked from the chat faster than it takes to say 'triple word score'.

You check on the IM in time to see vijay2vasandani offering up OCTOPI as a suggestion for someone to play. A brief, awkward silence ensues.

Oh man, this thing screwed with a lot of the hopes and aspirations of town and scum alike, as I'm sure certain players will tell you. (*cough* AurorusVox *cough* MoI *cough*)

Town failed pretty hard in collecting powers. It's no surprise it was a sweep when we couldn't threaten scum at night. Some of the letter selections and strategies used by townies were baffling.

I was ~this~ close to the dreaded PGO or COP combo, which I was going to use mercilessly. As soon as the C came my way in pre-game, that was the strategy, since I knew a P and an O could look like PGO to the untrained eye. Grarl.

Thanks so much for Modding Quilford. Your presentation and flipping posts were awesome .. very well done. The flavor (aside for saying I enjoy killing innocent babies ) was inventive and you should not feel bad about it at all.

Town really didn't play all that well as a whole. The fact that we were able to cherry pick our kills based almost 100% on tiles as opposed to suspicions made it easier to not look obv. The DCL kill was a perfect example. I had a Excel spreadsheet I was using to track tile collections, the number of tiles left by letter, and who had claimed what tiles / actions. Based on his claim I knew he was close to White Mage which is a very Pro-Town role and thus he had to go. Furthermore the haphazard manner in which tiles were collected (far too many blind without flipping prior to that) hurt Town being able to organize more effectively.

LLD you really screwed over Town this game with your lack of activity and your self-quickhammer. It didn't allow for Vijay to retract his gambit and set up the win for us.

I have no objections to the QT being posted so I'll let Robo and Amrun do that heavy lifting.

AV your picks of P and G did quite effectively make PGO a possibility in our mind.

Peregrine you really need to do a serious self-check on what you find suspicous in games. Voided was clearly Pro-Town this game and your suspicion of him for being helpful was terrible. Had I been Town I would have wanted you lynched for that stance alone.

Hoopla you were going to die N1 simply for the fact that you could not be left alive to GameTheory all up in the thread.

Quil and Hoopla - I'd suggest some minor alterations to the set-up in removing some of the useless tiles, adding a few more combinations of abilities (including at least 1 Pro-Scum abilities like Tailor / Frame), and adding 2 Blanks. In a 10-3 setup being effectively Mountainous is a huge deteriment to Town in general and I feel that the game is more likely to lean that way with the number of bad tiles out there.

My only regret is not picking up the I sooner and letting Iceguy snag it. It would have accelerated LYLO 1 more day.

I agree with more combinations and adding blanks, although I don't think this run was particularly indicative of the overall usefulness of the mechanic - the town played poorly, failed to secure combinations through bad strategy and a lack of cohesion, and a couple of players made poor choices/made mistakes. I think if this setup was run a thousand times in parallel universes, the amount of power secured by town in this game would be well below the average.

I think this game is the perfect example of the risks fakeclaiming Cop can carry. The wagons at the time were 2 votes each on Robo, Magna and vijay - scum could easily have been lynched on this day if things went right, but he got a townie mislynched instead, then got himself lynched in lylo. Towns can't recover from that sort of shit if you're wrong - and if you're the sort of person who thinks fakeclaiming Cop as town is a good idea, you're probably not the sort of person who is accurate enough to take that risk in the first place.
