Not a fan of Wits End on jungle Naut, Pstone -> Mobi Boots -> Aegis -> Kindlegem -> Glacial is my typical build. Spend your time ganking so you're poor but just build support items to make up for it.

Ehhhh. Not a big fan of Aegis on Naut, dunno. Usually go Philo+HoG->Randuins though, and either Abyssal or Wits. His build is playstyle dependent for the most part.

It really depends on how committed to an aegis your support is at the time. If they are going for it, you're better off going glacial. If not, you might as well get it.

AP Mid Eve is viable, but mostly as a counterpick. Most people nowadays know to pick kat against it. Once it starts roaming and gets kills, your ad carry is permanently fucked for the rest of the game.

My win of the month (lhavenotbeenplayingalotlately) had an AP eve vs. Katarina mid. Now, Eve NEVER killed Kat in the laning phase, -but- Eve roamed and ganked bottom and ended up 16/1
(I was sona with AD taric bot vs. Sona+ashe. Luckily their sona was bad and our Eve was AMAZINGS)

The taric was trolling because he wanted support even though I already had locked her in before he ever picked anything. I don't feel bad about locking in support as it's USUALLY not a "-OR I FEED" kind of role.
Taric managed to not feed so badly though.

So instead of letting someone who's said that they enjoy role X, you pulled the "I'm first pick so I get my way" card?

Here's why pick order determines what role everyone should go.

Since player X picked Mid before you, you can A.) Go mid with him and likely lose your team the game because you can't get over an internet troll or B.) increase your odds of winning the game by picking a role that your team needs/that you want to play.

If someone calls it, yes, you can consider giving them the role. I call AD in ranked games because I know it's my best role. I don't always get it but I suck it up and move the fuck on. Pick order pretty much has the final say simply because of the above and how the above works. In fact, I'm pretty sure Riot would also encourage and enforce it being the way roles are distributed.

See, the way I look at it is that if someone's asking for a specific role, then they probably play that role a fair bit, and as such are probably somewhat skilled there. Reck being an asshat and telling that guy that his attempts to coordinate the team are wasted because of where he wound up in pick order is the exact type of attitude that leads to people whining about "solo queue feeders" and "being stuck in elo hell".

That said, I wasn't there, so I don't know if that was exactly how the conversation went. Maybe the other guy was a dickhole about it, and reck was trying to be reasonable. From how it was presented though, I feel like that was an unreasonable exchange.

This is pretty much being nice to me. I've never had anyone even tell me they were going to take it. Most people just take the role you called. No typing. Nothing. When I alt tab back into the window on my pick, I've got 30 seconds to look at who I'm facing, what new role I'm in, the comp our team has, and what I should pick. Then I have to set up my summoners and runes all over.

I don't ask anyone to respect my pick. I just ask "hi, if you're going to take the role someone calls, let them know from now on". That's literally all I ask of solo queue. Because solo queue is shitty. And so are pretty much the majority of people in it.

Yeah, the majority of people in solo queue are shitty. That's not an excuse to be shitty as well. That guy wanted to coordinate the team, and let them know what he felt best suited for. Reck decided to default in to "respect my authoritae!" mode, instead of saying "Hey, they've left Alistar open. Can I take him and either me or you jungle him?" That's being shitty, and is being the problem instead of trying to work against the problem.

I agree with BV here. Pick order plays into that stuff, but I think if someone calls a specific role, you should do your best to make that happen.

Granted, I also feel that you should try to avoid being all "X OR FEED" at all. *shrug* When I go into solo queue, my default is "I'd like to play mid or jungle, and you really don't want me to AD carry." It takes a tad longer to type, but it keeps people friendly.
