Nice to see Riot taking LoLDrop seriously.
LoLDrop causes a DDoS on the server the game is being hosted on, causing the entire game to be dropped and everyone to be booted from it. Basically, for the purposes of your record it's as if the game never existed.

I've been duoing a little bit with CooLDoG, who's lvl 7, and I think playing against bad players is ruining my skills. Now whenever I'm up against a half decent lane opponent I completely underestimate them and constantly expect them to make dumb mistakes.ShowTotal: 16/15/1

Riiight, bad luck that a team of people all between 50-150ms ping all jumped to 700+ at the same time before half of us DC'd, 4 teamfights in a row. Silly me, that's the kind of thing that happens all the time.- mykonian

... I need to explain...
It's... Painful for me.
This is a game where you can feel so useful one moment and so useless the next..
its that feeling of hopelessness that really makes me averse to this game. because... well shoot... I mean How in the hell can you recover from that? I mean in other games like hell.. megaman X it helps out with the hopelessness... the bit where vile catches you and basically makes you feel that? its brief. thats what makes it better. It conditions you for those fails by making short moments of failure in order for you to cope with the longer ones incoming. It's like a effective vaccine for a flu or something: the more prepared you are for it the better off you are.
LOL does not help you with this. Yes, in any game like this you have to be prepared for failure.. but what KIND of failure.. A minor shortcoming? or everything falling apart? LOL preps you for the former in great ways but what's there to help you when you feel so helpless, so alone... like YOU'RE apart of the problem? Like everything is falling apart and you can not help save or even salvage it for a close game? In my mind, THIS is why LOL's community is hated. Yes, some or even most of the players CAN get over this, but I feel that a grand majority has this great fear of failure. This is compounded when it's team game, which LOL is. So instead of people owning up and saying "it's okay, we all had our faults", we have the majority of players WHO DO NOT WANT THE BLAME of losing. Then comes the accusations, the name-calling, "FEEDER", "NOOB", "UNINSTALL FGGT". This Inevitably leads to the hostility that all LOLers see today in the community.
The reason I uninstalled is because i caught myself. Turning into that. That's not me. I won't allow it to be me.
IT doesn't help when the people whom I know to be the other, more mature players have already.. "ascended" for lack of a better term. It just makes me feel.. more inadequate... and YES I know you guys can smurf to help me and others like me out.. but I feel the the former, immature people do that more often as well... Because they feel so inadequate at level the only way (I know this bit is shaky as I type but bare with me) they can redeem themselves is by becoming nothing more than bullies and smurf as well.
The issue is both sides do that... and that just alienates me more...
I dunno... maybe there is fun to be had.. I KNOW there is fun to be had. You're a TEAM. AND IT FEELS SO GOD DAMNED GOOD. But when you you're like me... and you aren't good.. and just things just don't happen... what can you do?
As I finish typing... I think riot could help a bit with this.. add coaches. Provide incentives for higher leveled or ranked players to help lower levels learn to play. Not only basics but fundamentals about each character and help the lower level person find a successful play-style that suits them.
Maybe riot points? but... i dunno.
Thats it. that's my spiel...A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?- Hinduragi

the moment you realise that you'll lose LoL in 50% of the cases, compared to your nice solo games which you win in 80% or 90% of the cases, things get a bit more in perspective. Sure you have idiots, they exist in daily life as well.
It can be nice to play with someone in game. MS has (I think) less ragers then average. There are those, and they are easily indentified in thread as well, but suppose you find someone fun to play with, it's easier to deal with the lol community.\. You'll still get raged at for bad play, but now you have a buddy who tells you it's not that bad and what you could do differently. It's just easier to deal with it that way. Just make sure you don't rage at others either. Your buddy is quite certain not to like that from you.Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.- Bub Bidderskins

I think the problem with the LoL community is that you can almost always make a halfway legit case as to why somebody else was to blame for the loss. For instance, I just finished a really bad game as Veigar. I played well in laning phase, but then I got jumped on a couple of times by the whole team and ended up going something like 4/13. Now, I did so poorly is because the support didn't ward at all during mid game and the jungler was pure shit and didn't gank. I could blame m scoreline on those players and never learn a thing. I'd still have shitty positing and always miss my burst combo, but hey, it's the junger and support's fault!
In most other games, you can really only blame yourself for a loss. If you get crushed in SC, it was probably because your one opponent was just better than you. You may rage and scream, but at the end of the day you know that you lossed because you were worse than him. In LoL, if you are worse than your opponent, you can blame your team mates and never learn a thing. The result of this is that everybody thinks they are the best and never learns a thing. I don't even think Riot can really do anything to fix this, since the problem is with the essence of the game itself.ShowTotal: 16/15/1

Your Normal ELO adjusts the more you play the game, so You'll always play with similarly skilled players. Before I played ranked, I never got mad at this game and I never understood people who did. You get nothing if you win and nothing if you lose. You're just learnign and having fun and hoping you don't fail spectacularly. I don't think i ever killed a dragon in my first like..15 levels lol. It's seriously just shits and giggles man. When you are feeding super hard just let it go man. The game doesn't mean anything.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

I skimmed that wallpost, but yeah, lol isn't for everyone. If it makes you a rager you're probably better off not contributing to the toxicity of the community (though that's definitely improved lately with the honor system).
also I had a few ideas for helping newer players that I formulated when I watched my ex struggle to get into lol, but I'm entirely too lazy to email riot/make a forum post about it and some of my ideas I've seen them implement since, anyway. Getting RP for being a mentor is a bad idea though, you don't want people doing that for the wrong reason and it'd be more work than it'd be worth for them to identify mentors worthy of reward (and figure out how much reward they should receive) anyway.
I'm pretty sure the channel for /r/summonerschool would be happy to show newbies the ropes but that kind of requires newbies knowing that they exist.

The annoying thing is when other people on your team take it way too seriously. The other day I experimented with an AP Alistair build on TT, and when it didn't go so well everybody on my team just raged at me. And that was onTwisted Treeline.ShowTotal: 16/15/1

Im pretty sure Riot can implement it good... all it needs is a feedback feature.
Did this coach do well? Give them a high rating and they will be awarded. and if smurfing becomes a problem (Smurfs giving praise to mains)... well maybe there isn't like a GREAT WAY to deal with that (the first idea comes to my mind is to get players to volunteer smurfs account names. TRiot can then allow smurfs to exists even on the same Email, but they just dont have the ability to give the main coaching praise.) But im sure there is some way to balance it...A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?- PJ.
