Ftr, this is actually not something I do on purpose (unless I'm playing with Fate & co. and have clownfuck mode engaged, but that's a different story) - I've been trying to get rid of this trait, and the problem probably comes from me being so successful in doing these plays in the low levels because um yeah.

Do you really think that building tear/cata on Karthus was the right move, and would you do it again in the same situation?
The lane was losing hard and the game was losing fast, building 2 no-ap items, building for the lategame when there pretty clearly isn't going to be a lategame seemed to damn you completely. TF actually helped you out by rushing a LB with no ap, but then he snowballed right into a RDC and instantly became the most powerful person on the map. Karthus as a champ already having such an anemic early game put him and TF on opposite ends of the power curve. Def not trying to single out the mid because that game was a loss and not one person's fault, it just really jumped out at me.

Scrambling for a revolver and/or a blasting wand would have been the best thing you could have done so far behind like that, I know nobody plans to be behind but seems like the build order was set in stone and was a huge detriment. After the tears and clearly behind, should have probably given up on the ROA and started a rylais to bulk up? Just curious because I moved off the AA staff a while ago for myself, when the new Grail came out. I still rush a ROA on karthus but usually go for the cassiopiea special (hextech/rylais) after cause it's just so damned efficient. The DFG nerfs really threw some of my builds into a tailspin so if that's what happened to you, hey its been happening to me a lot too.

If you are looking for people to scrim against, I'd be happy to play a "role" in it, sort of like a scout team, aggressive kill, push and roam, whatever you want to practice against. I could probably grab some interested parties too to flesh out a scrim team. The hardest part for me would probably be picking "tournament viable" mids cause I don't play Ori or TF and I'm sure you see a lot of that shit in your games.

Also that team you played against were dicks.

Nerves got to me more than anything if you want me to be entirely and 100% honest. I take full responsibility for our team losing as it lost off of TF's roam more than anything (and loss of control).

I shouldn't have played Karthus in the first place, and yes I probably would go the same route in a game I feel confident in and one that I feel we can stall out. In that exact situation again I probably would have foregone the tear for RoA and then gone straight into abyssal. I should have stayed with Anivia.

I know you've been trying. A large part of the reason why I avoid playing with most people to the point where I pretty much play solely with ONM now is because I feel bad if I get angry with people who I know are trying to break bad habits they have because I in and of myself have a bad habit of snapping at people who I feel make the same mistake over and over again (even when it's practically instinct to them by that point and thus hard to just snap out of) in addition to my inability to not take this game seriously (except solo queue cause solo queue is a pointless exercise for the most part, with the concession that over time you will probably improve mechanically in solo queue).

And I meant exactly what I said yesterday after the game. With that in mind, my final statement is this:

At the end of the day, yeah. We lost. Probably not unexpected. My scouting data said that violent worm eating birds was one of the three teams I thought was likely to win (the others being We Will Part the Seas, who would have been our second round opponent and went on to win the entire thing, and Leviathan Gaming, which ended up 3rd). Chances are we had no hope of even making the semis in the first place. But we still managed to get that far in the first place - that we beat out 100 other teams to make it to where we did as a group of a bunch of 1200-1400 players proved that solo queue doesn't necessarily mean everything.

We should be proud to stand where we do now as a team, coming off of being #1 seed (not sure how seeds were determined, but I'm still hanging onto that) into the playoffs even if we did just get stomped out in the first round. We have nowhere but forward to look. And most importantly, for once, we managed to lose with dignity. In the past, ONM losses have meant that we all got sullen and angry and fell apart harder. Last night, that wasn't the case. We took our loss, decided to keep going, and messed around a bit. We enjoyed the shit out of the rest of the night, because that's what really mattered. In the end, we're not the next TSM or CLJ or Dignitas or whoever (yet). We're a group of friends who sit down a few times a week to play a game together. And we'll always have that no matter what happens.

I want to give a big thanks to the following people for helping me get this far:
To Reck, his roommate John, and whoever else it was (I forget, sorry) that was a part of the original team I was going to be on with bev, for igniting my spark for really playing on a team (even if it didn't work out).

To Nuwen, Fate, and hito, who gave me the first taste of ranked team play on ISMETA and for all their help and sticking with me while I was learning the game in the first place.

To Buttons, Elmo, and probably a bunch of others that I'm forgetting, for also helping in the learning and coming up with such brilliant ideas as Plan Walk Forwards.

To Shanba and Patrick, whom our year+ of playing together late into the night most every day meant more to me than anything. That moment saying to you guys that we wanted to make a change to practice more was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do (and in fact could barely do; couldn't bring myself to do it so peg told Patrick and telling Shanba for me was one of the hardest conversations I've ever had).

To IH and Izzy, who were always willing to stand by when we needed them as subs even though we never really got to use them.

To bev, who I feel bad consistently for not having on the team. There is no one on this site who tries harder than you and I feel bad that it never worked out.

To Panzer. Sorry it didn't work out. We wanted to pick you up because we believed in you and believed in that drive you had to do better. You'll go far eventually as long as you keep plugging at it. I didn't do everything I could to keep the team together in the end. It got to the point where I couldn't bring myself to say anything to you because I was worried that I'd fucked everything up already and that you probably didn't want to hear it from me in the first place so yeah, you were right, I was a bitch on that.

To Zito, EXCELSIOR

To scot, thanks for coming on-board and sticking with us even if we're probably completely horrible fucking assholes to you a lot of the time.

And to BBM and PEG, cause we've been a team for 5-6 fucking years now and I look forward to more.

That's all I've got to say about what happened yesterday.

I like the new treeline, although Lord Van Dammes Pillager seems like the wrong direction to go in dealing with The Olaf Problem

Anyway, good luck to ONM, I was always impressed (though I only watched a few of their games) at how they were able to work together and grow as a team, when after all is said and done, we're just a bunch of strangers on a mafiascum.

Definitely up for some scrims if you ever need practice!

Jungle Olaf you play the same way.
Boots.
Wriggles.
Fratmogs.
Maw.
GA.
Bloodthirster if they can't stop you.

I've lost 2 out of the 20 or so games I've played as Junglaf, one of which was due to that Caitlyn in ranked...

I've started to notice that, but a lot of people I've played him with so far don't know how he works, so they don't understand that he can dive fairly easily and still get out okay, and that he even thrives from diving people, so they don't commit as much as they should.

@InflatablePie: Nice Kayle guide. I might make a support one for her.

Question though: I have a lot of trouble against irelia. Earlier today, she would jump in, stun me, and that would take out most of my health. TF would ult in to make it impossible for me to survive, but still. She also destroyed me in farm and I'm not sure what I was doing wrong there.
So any tips against her specifically?

Kayle is really the only person I top nowadays, primarily because I will almost always take support/mid if its available.
My Garen and Fiora are really out of practice, and I love Maokai but he's really only viable as a jungler. Any top champs that have an easy learning curve that I should pick up? hard counters to Irelia/other very up close tops?

Don't have much personal experience versus Irelia. Try and land a Q when she dashes towards you, then E and swing at her when she backs off. Try and zone her around level 4 or quicker, and play safer once she hits level 9ish.

Jax is easy and very fun, and I think counters Irelia (and other in-your-face tops, due to his stun). Both Jax and Kayle can have a bit of trouble with Malph though, so watch out for him (or ban him).

Pie and I smurfed today and did a lot of teemo/kayle bot lane.

It is the best thing. Unless the other team has taric/sivir, in which case it is most definitely not.

Surely it's not the best thing ever purely because you did it on Smurf accounts, where the skill level of your opponents is lower than if you'd done it on your 30 accounts?
