Also, I'm not sure where you're going with irl excuses thing. I warned everyone before the end of the first day that something bad had happened in my life that would probably affect me in mafia. The next day, yes, I lurked the fuck out of of it, but just as I started to catch up, the game went into night, and when the new day came back up, I got myself back into the game just as I said I would. I've replaced out of two games and lurked in 100% of the very few games I have left. Unless you're suggesting I'm scum in all of them, I don't get your point at all.

Okay, DGB, and just for you, I'll go into even more detail.

-Tracey replaces in, lurks to kingdom come until she is repeatedly called on it.
-When pressured, responds that she would do this "even if town"
-When the reads are FINALLY posted, they don't make sense together and the only really original read was on RachMarie, which eventually resulted in a lynch there. She flipped town.
-Most annoying to me is her claims that Piggy is "buddying you" but then calling you scummy in the same post
-Later, says you are "not obvtown" but just "the leader [of the town]" and that you would be kept alive if your reads were off. A little dejavu? Also, who regards their top scum suspect as the leader of the town? That's strange. And she didn't call you scum there, she called you "not obvtown." Just weird wording to me.
-Today, goes back to lurking now that the pressure is off of her.
-You were kept alive, which to me is a bit strange if the scumteam isn't all newbs and you're town, given that I agree that you would be a prime kill target if town, given your interactions with Telo and the fact that people seem to be listening to you. You were a more obvious kill than Tammy (even though a Tammy kill isn't THAT weird). So why not you? You came to the conclusion that you were left alive to push Sucrose, which I think is partially true, but I think it was also to keep Tracey alive, given how you basically single-handedly derailed her wagon yesterday and declared her TOWNTOWNTOWN. And Tracey's comment about how you might be left alive if your reads were wrong (but then calling you scum and still voting for Sucrose) is REALLY off, in light of this. Also of note, Tammy was one of the ones that Tracey called "town. just town" in her wall.

Actually, that makes perfect sense to me. Why should a townie not be thinking about how their actions look at all times, just like a scum? Nobody wants people thinking they are scum, no matter their alignment. The end result is the same - they die. In very few cases is this good.

This is a meta-question I've had in other games before -- it feels to me like conventional wisdom is that townies aren't self-conscious, and don't post cautiously - don't make that kind of post. I don't understand this at all. Independently of this game, can someone please explain it? After the game is fine.

I feel strongly about this and would like to comment, but since you said "independently of the game" I won't right now.

She's slidden down a couple places and is now last on the list. I know realistically I can't have all three scum on that list, and at least one of my towny-reads must be dead wrong, but I have town reads on all the other players. It's been a tough game to parse.

This is interesting given that she wasn't on the Telo wagon, and wasn't strongly predicting Telo was scum, just that she was "okay with the lynch" followed by the quoted post.

Spring also quasi-defends Telo in her first post that mentions her, #177. She's a scum-read, but "only redeeming feature is that she reads as if she's not all there." This comment also came

after

Eidolon had said that Telo was "out of the loop." Spring later describes Piggy and Telo together as "derp and more derp."

I'll wait for Spring to respond to this.
