I don't know why your December 1 /in was missed, but it's very likely that your December 3 /in was skipped because you replaced into Newbie 1302 (on December 5). singer tends to take people out of the queue when they replace into a game; you have to explicitly mention that you want to be in the queue as well as replace into whichever game.

I don't want to seem obnoxious, but it's been some time since the last round of Newbie games were started. I've been in the queue since Dec 4th, making it over a week, and my case is not exceptional in that respect - others have been waiting since Nov 30th, meaning they've been waiting 2 days short of 2 weeks. Given the original post specified on average waiting time of 4 to 5 days, I was wondering if something was causing a particularly large queue or if there is some other reason why it's taken more time than stated.

Well, from my observations singer usually waits until there is a 3-5 sets of newbies to begin games (not sure if this sentence makes sense. Basically since each newbie game needs 6 newbies, my observation is that next batch of games come after about 3-5 set of six newbies /in).
