Then why do you not follow our reads just wondering? :P

I'm sorry, who are you? Since you actually used the term 'our', I'm going to assume that you're one of the hydra heads of Iec - if I'm wrong correct me.

I don't follow them because I don't remember them. There's so many damned people in this game, I can't seem to keep track of anyone. Want my opinions? Direct me to the post.

Fine, you pedantic fuck. One is telling people to vote. The other is voting because you're told. Either way they're still not even close to the same thing and you're just nitpicking for no reason. The presence or absence of a fucking question mark makes no difference.

Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but it indeed does make a difference. You're simply rearranging the same exact words into ways that make them sound different. You're putting a whole color system to something that is simply black and white to try and prove a point that doesn't actually exist.

Also, I'm nitpicking for a damned good reason. I'm nitpicking the very logic that you're using to justify your vote on me. Dare I say this, but try again... but please, try to keep the name calling to a minimum.

Zoidberg wrote:
What the hell is this "+#" crap that I see you posting every now and then? You're the only one I've seen doing it. Is it role related or something?
The
+X
numbers are "scum points" on his personal scum scale. It's his attempt to be transparent. This was already explained in-thread like 40 pages ago.

I note with great interest that you avoided addressing his point.

I apologize for missing the Legend to the map of his mind in the giant clusterfuck of spam that infected this thread like 40 pages ago. Also, the answer to his question is simply 'yes'.

Also note that I had already addressed my reasons as to
why
I did it. To reiterate, it's simply something that can just as easily be undone therefore I saw no harm in actually doing it.

Wyrd wrote:
(also hey he's the first one voting Thunderscum and that ain't no bus)

And how are
YOU
so sure of this? You do seem pretty confident - you must know something that we don't.

UNVOTE: Zoid; Vote Wyrd

Please quote instances of Wyrd being scummy. Be specific and explain why you feel it is scummy.[/quote]
He's scummy in the fact that he seems fairly certain - beyond a shadow of a doubt certain - that Gamma is town. There's only one way he can positively know that on day 1 - and that's be scum.

Not only that, but wasn't there like 8 or 9 people that voted for Wyrd "like 40 pages ago"? I don't see you questioning any of them... Hell, if I remember correctly the first vote on him was simply based on nothing more than, "He's scum, get him!!!"

No quotes, no reasoning, and yet no questions asked...

This comment also extends to Gamma for questioning my vote on Wyrd.

SlumberPartyBois wrote:why make such a big deal out of it then if its not telling you anything about our alignment?

Despite the fact that I have actually asked you three questions now, all of which have gone unanswered, I will continue to placate your inquiries.

Actually, I simply asked a question. If you had provided a simple answer in the first place, it wouldn't be a big deal. However, you seem to be taking very careful consideration to turn into one. Why is that?

Om of the Nom wrote:VOTE: ThunderHog
I swear he looks like he's trying to word his posts carefully. He's way too cautious imo and he's making lots of excuses. Plus his vote on Wyrd is way too opportunistic to come from town, it sounds like newbscum.

Damned right I'm trying to word my posts carefully! I got damned-near shanked a couple pages back for wording my posts 'incorrectly'. You bet your ass I'm being careful now.

You shouldn't have to be careful about what you say as town. Scum need to word their posts carefully to fit a townie mindset. Townies should have that mindset naturally so they won't need to think about their posting.

weeeee postan time

oh so uh this wound up being pretty long so feel free to ignore it if you aren't thunderhog and also don't care about me explaining why I do and think things in mafiaz.

thunderhog i feel like you deserve some sort of answer to this regardless of what i think your alignment is

SkysoundPig wrote:Based on your very own logic, if anyone were to "acquiesce" (as Zoidy so kindly put it) these requests, they should be attacked and voted for simply because someone else told them to do it - and if you're gonna tell me that it's a contextual issue, in that case EVERYTHING comes down to a fuckin' contextual issue and you're an idiot for suggesting it.

So, enlighten me o' seeker of scum, what's the difference?

It's because despite me wanting a common action (people voting you) the individual people who do so can have vastly different reasons for doing it. from the wyrd wagon for example there were the hydras who voted him because they thought he was being scummy in the qt and in thread, people like me who voted him because his in-game posts were pretty gross, and probably others who did it for shits and giggles and given the number of people in the game I'd say probably at least one scum who did it to either try to further a mislynch or to make themselves look more town for hopping on should wyrd be scum.

you can use a lot of logic and deduction in the game but at the base of it you're trying to determine the other player's motivations for doing everything that they do. And given what you've done in the game that I've gone over already I think you're quite a bit more likely to be scum trying to look town through your actions and avoid getting lynched than town being extra careful about what they say. It's not solely that you did something that someone asked you to- it's that it looks like you did it to 'placate' (oh man i can use fancy words too) another player into leaving you alone instead of actually furthering anything that you believe in, and I think that's very likely to come from scum.

on less diplomatic notes
TheLoudestBacon wrote:He's scummy in the fact that he seems fairly certain - beyond a shadow of a doubt certain - that Gamma is town. There's only one way he can positively know that on day 1 - and that's be scum.

He literally explained why he thinks that in both that same post and the post before it. I've been playing mafia for more than 4 years now on this site, Fate has at least 3, and we've met and played mafia in real life. Some players have definitely identifiable differences in how they play as town and scum and it can lead to very certain reads even early in the game.

And this is just a personal thing but the way that you write everything seems like it you're trying to show an air of superiority and it comes off as you sounding kind of like a dick. There are certainly players who do that on the site and some are good players that have been here a while but I'm not exactly a fan of most of those people.

Use google docs and take notes if you have trouble. Otherwise it's just an excuse for lack of scumhunting. If you can't handle the game, replace out. If you can handle the game, then stop making excuses.

That's it? That's your read on wyrd? "He seems certain" and "everyone was voting him 40 pages ago"? It's like you aren't even trying. I said "be specific" and all you could come up with is "he is too certain"?

Speak plainly. There's no need to use the (completely incorrect) phrase "placate your inquiries" when you could have just as easily said "answer your questions."

Effective communication is about getting your point across with minimal confusion, not about scoring high in scrabble.

You're focussing solely on the semantics here.

Zoidberg was asking/requesting/whatever-it-doesn't-matter people to vote you because you are scummy. That's completely different from voting a player whom you admitted was no longer scummy.

ThunderHog wrote:

Oh, FFS. The fact that Zoidberg TOLD people to vote (for the sake of this argument, I'm going to avoid using the word "asked") is totally irrelevant. The issue is that you voted a player whom you admitted that you had no rational reason to vote.

ThunderHog wrote:

Yes, a vote can be easily undone. However, that absolutely does NOT justify just voting a person you apparently don't suspect.

eh i could but the vast majority of people posting look somewhere between null and townzzzzz to me right now and i'm super confident in thunderwagon and not really confident in anything else. If thunderhog were vigged right now I'd probably go after someone who lurked through most of the day. (delta and jacob seem like good choices off the top of my head). also i don't remember you doing anything that looked town so i'd probably help lynch you in a thunder-is-dead scenario too. other alternative could be dgb i guess but I'll probably just dick around and listen to other people's opinions about lynches tomorrow before voting assuming that i'm not dead.

The first ~20 pages or so are literally garbage that you can easily skip. Things get interesting around page 24 when Wyrd start posting and people wagon them really hard.

I am not a hydra. Katsuki is half of Kawaii. The hydras are SPB, Kawaii, OD, Wyrd, and Pretentioushydra.

You keep saying this, but it's not true. Wyrd was voted for 2 reasons. The reason-less votes (we now know) were based on stuff from the hydra QT. You can read the QT that Wyrd posted to evaluate the basis of those votes yourself; I think they were pretty bogus. But there were also some slightly-more-reasonable votes (e.g., in trying to understand the reason-less votes, some non-hydras like Trollie and Zoidberg IIRC noticed that Wyrd had voted PretentiousHydra and then called DGB scummy for lurking, which they saw as inconsistency).

I'm in the process of reviewing that hydra QT. As of right now, it does look like they manufactured the case against Wyrd.
