Does anybody else find it impossibly hilarious when a Soraka or Janna starts being super BM in your game?

I think it's just the character archetype of the champion but I can't take it seriously ever. Lulz ensue.

I invented freelo. I'm a trendsetter.
I also invented "fuck you cyberbob". You might hear that one repeated a lot too.

so there you are, last pick in whatever draft. Naturally, support is left. Ok, so be it. Happens. Jungle and AD got picked before you, so you already see it coming a little: your adc is just someone who didn't want to support and that was what was left. Anyway, he has picked your friendly neighbourhood ashe and passive supports do well with that so soraka or janna are probably a good idea.

Which has the problem that the actual winning of the lane is not in your hands. You can work very hard not to lose, but actually working the opponents out is hard. In Janna's case, you can't exactly use your tornado to harrass, etc. You basically wait for your ADC to engage or get engaged on and with a shield/tornado let him gain the advantage.

But, since this is the guy who avoided playing support by picking the only other role left, of course he doesn't do that. He's being cautious, waiting for his support to move up before him like all the supports he knows do (ergo, taric), and to provide him with a target he can shoot at for free if he's close enough. Which doesn't work very well with these two, hence your lane doesn't do a thing.

Then you get to the point that the opponents finally grasp a moment and kill either of you. At which point it's time to point fingers. And naturally "soraka/janna isn't doing a thing" is coming out there.

Doesn't take long to be fed up with said player. Hi zepher.

I was cheering for Fnatic that whole match. Thought they were done for after they lost almost all of their turrets, but that Kog'maw...

Personally, I think it was their Zyra that turned it around for them. Kog'Maw snowballed into a beast that kept them winning fights, but the decision to build Zhonia's and HG on Zyra, and a couple of clutch roots and ults from her kept them in the game. Especially the one in the fight by their top lane inner turret where Kog died and Zyra caught Ahri in her Root and Ult, which kept Ahri still and did enough damage for Kog's passive to kill her. Turned that whole fight around, resulting in Fnatic coming out 4-2 in it.

Really? What changed to make this work? Should I go back to Ashe? Also what support should I run with it?

Not sure if Myko's post was aimed at me or just pointing something out.

There are so many cheesy things you can do bottom lane it's kind of silly.
Level 1 Ashe Volley+Passive crit can actually gib a twitch or another low base health champion.
Also you can get the same effect with Caitlyn by charging her passive on golems before getting into lane since her Q does more damage than Volley at rank 1 and Headshot can crit if you're lucky.
Blitz Vayne can get the easiest first blood if Vayne takes condemn and blitz lands a hook in the brush (vs like a Sona or Janna and now Ezreal if he doesn't take veteran scars.)
Leona/Taric Ashe can camp the river brush and do the corner gib tactic at the cost of losing a few CS.

Also, Ashe can be really aggressive in lane if you know how to manage her passive appropriately.
And anybody who thinks Soraka is a passive support is doing it wrong. You have instill banana fear into the enemy lane. It's a requirement.

How do you compare banana pokes and sona... sounds to something as dazzling and fabulous as, mmmhmmm, Taric?
