↑RestFermata wrote:Explain to me why I shouldn't think that you're bluffing, lev. Additionally, why do you say I'm "wrong" if you think that I'm lying scum?
well, theres not much i can say. you just either take my word for it and look at my meta or you don't and don't know the truth and just have to take my word.
and well, you are either wrong town. or you know what you are doing and are scum. i'm currently leaning you know what you are doing and are scum.
Even if I did look at your meta--and I might eventually if I figure out why it would be helpful and not misleading--if I looked at your meta, that is, and it squared with what you're saying about what you never do as scum, there is still significant motivation for you to change up your playstyle in order to benefit you in this game. Meta only really works with people who aren't really aware of the changes in playstyle that occur when they are scum.

understandable, but thats just not how i play this game. =P this game is more to have fun then to ONLY care about winning. I play to win what role i'm given. honesty is definitely how i play. even though i know a lot of lying goes on.
You know, crazy as it sounds to be talking about choosing honesty in a game that's all about lying, I kind of understand what you're saying right now. I think the whole honesty vs. dishonesty issue is why I really prefer being town and care more about games in which I am town, because I can have both. Even when I'm scum I try to convince myself that I'm town and forget the information that I know, at least during the day phase--even though it doesn't really work.

From his responses, it's starting to look to me like lev is in earnest with what he's saying, and that he is legitimately scumhunting. I think he honestly found the dilemma between himself and Nacho paradoxical and that I'm scum.
Meaning it's more likely that Nacho is scum, so that's where my vote is going now.

Instead of trying to "catch" me for something I didn't say, how about you explain yourself: What was your pro-town motivation for admittedly buddying up to lev?

So am I your top suspect or what? You're really being coy about a pretty simple question.
Only because I like you...

a I can’t read these two and they always look like scum but what’s the worst that would come from lynching them? We lose Empking and/or JasonT? Sounds like a win/win.
↑RestFermata wrote:No, I said there's no really good reason for it. There could be poorly-conceived reasons. I think it's anti-town and scummy, but it's my #1 scumtell that's being "buddied up" to, so that makes it a weaker tell for me. It's not the end-all of scumtells.
Oh and this is just comically wrong; I buddy somewhat frequently as town because if you get it right you can completely terrify scum by forming a cohesive block that they can't scatter and seperate like they can to those chumps working on their own.
Iecerint, I really don't see how lev's being town would make me scummier, because as town I do not know whether or not lev is scum; I can only speculate based on his behavior. I can be wrong or right based on the exact same reasoning. I don't see how a fact I'm not privy to would affect my perceived alignment. You keep throwing this out there and it really doesn't make any sense to me. If you're trying to say that my accusation of lev doesn't look like a bus, fine, then say that.
DDD, great, you have your reasons for buddying, but I still think it's scummy and not pro-town. Maybe you're thinking of it in a different sense than I am, but the way Nacho was doing it looked to me like an attempt to take advantage of a player that feels he is being attacked, and getting on his "good side." I can see a scenario in which Nacho said what he said as town, but I can more easily see motivation for doing this as scum.
I don't know what to say about Empking. He seems a wee bit trolololly; it's hard for me to read players like that. As I've said before, I don't like letting players like that slide 'til endgame being hopelessly inscrutable, but I think on D1, when there are so many players around to water down the probability of catching scum, an actually actively scummy player is the best lynch. That's why I don't support the Empking wagon. He seems more devil-may-care than actually scummy at this point.
DDD, when people just make lists it's hard to figure out whether they are being genuine or not. I'd love to hear what you specifically don't like about those you suspect to be scum, instead of just naming them off.

As scum, you knew Levi was town, so you were making plans predicated on Levi flipping town.
As town, you would probably focus on evaluating whether Levi was scum before constructing too many conditional dominoes (particularly ones of the "If XTown, then Yscum" type). You would also be more alarmed at Levi's bizarre/scummy early posts.
Somewhat hypocritically for me, if Levi is actually scum, all of this is nullified -- but I think Levi's town at this point.
I see what you're saying now, Iecerint, and I agree now that lev is probably town. I also think you're town for that post--I was starting to think that you probably didn't have an explanation, but that one looked town to me, so you're off the hook for now as far as I'm concerned. As far as setting up conditional dominoes, it just sort of ended up that way. My top two scum reads seemed mutually exclusive.

since post 178 i'm leaning a little that rest may be town as well.
i'm leaning that saintkerrigan is town for how the beginning went. I know i am town so that leaves 11 left. i am wondering if nacho and restfermata are the same alignment or not. if they aren't then that leaves one of them as scum but i really don't think they both are. nacho's buddying up to me really does seem out of place and opportunistic. i don't really know what to make of that.
Ice is kind of leaning town on me with a vibe but i could easily be mistaken.
DDD is leaning null for me. I don't have much.
Empking's wagon is also not really something i am for at the moment.
levi vs. restfermata seems like a town on town dispute to me. There is a ton of misunderstanding there that doesn´t really seem forced in any way, just like two noobs arguing.
Iec´s vote is :S and makes me question our whole relationship.
I think Peregrine is intentionally not posting and needs to die. So much so, I´ll vote him if DDD plunks a vote down there. Ball is in your court homey.
I get townie vibes from Empking and Nacho, but nothing too firm there yet.

You know I don't like to be leveraged like this.
