Well, Udyr is just never played. And when he is, he is the racecar hobo, running into lanes trying to bear punch some bitchs while, they walk away, but he's an absolute beast top. You think irelia has sustain? or Yorick? Max turtle, son. He can also take a tower mad fast due to Tiger and Monkey passive. He farms like a boss. And he has cc for his jungler. He can bear punch that mother fucker while the jungler runs into lane to steal the kill like a boss.

I don't know why you think AP Sion is weird. I rarely see a sion beside AP. He pushes the lane super hard and then ganks the other lanes with his Q and mad burst. I think he is just way situational.

Funny, you had confidence in 1/7 Jayce who was also building wrong.

Remember when you guys used to make fun of me for flashing over a wall with xerath by myself to use my long range abilities? Reginald just did that.

I've seen some games as AP sion, and it's a pubstomper. It's an awful pick if you face anyone resembling being a good player, as it's counterplay is so obvious. Deathfires rework also made champs like him less valuable.

But if people are clueless, you can happily race around the map exploding squishies.

There is not really an excuse for ADC jayce, kind of abuse of champion. None of Jayces ranged abilities scales with attackspeed, and you are going to build that soon. His autoattack damage improvement is mediocre (and doesn't scale very well at all). He's a great top, esspecially if you are playing 5's, use him for that :/

Xerath is absolutely the definition of "underdog".

I actually do remember this, but I think what we were making fun of was the fact that you didn't cast long-range spells -- you just autoattacked something and then exploded.

Also, re: udyr and sion - panzer's right. They're both situational but can wreck some, if not most, matchups.

I remember when everyone talked shit about Xerath when he came out, calling him terrible when no one really knew how to play him. (Not here really, I browse LoL forums)
He's definitely very good, and hasn't had too much done with him since his release.

It's always interesting to see the shifts of people's opinions of champions from pre-release, first two weeks, and then months later.

Everyone is garbage on release. If they're aren't then odds are they're ACTUALLY overpowered and need to be toned down.

I think that once champions started to be available on the PBE for testing, that releases have been a lot closer to balanced for a while. Not always, definitely, but it's helped.

oh, and beyond the pen changes (which make his pen more valuable), there's his armor as well. All armor got nerfed, and similar changes weren't made on champs, effectively making them stronger. It's a tad insignificant perhaps, but it helps.

There were conversations in this very thread a couple of months ago about how Xerath is actually superstrong but people just don't know how to play him.

Then he achieves some success at a high level/visibility, and BAM new flavor of the month.

He's been played in multiple high exposure tournaments, most notably Chauster and Regi's respective Xeraths.
You see him played for a little bit but he never sticks as a FoTM.

edit: Mid_Link plays Xerath pretty frequently as well and usually does pretty well.

Yeah his free armor makes him deceptively tanky. The last game I played with him I had about 218 armor by endgame with like 3 items (one of which was Zhonyas)
or something like that....

I really like Rylai's on Xerath. The health from it works well with the free armor from your passive (ideally you shouldn't be getting hit much as Xerath but *positioning*), it gives amazing kiting ability with 1300 range slows when combined with the movement speed from your w, makes your q easier to land after you mark someone with your e, and it has good synergy with Liandry's, which is absolutely a core item on him in season 3. The morellonomicon Regi was building was interesting. Xerath is certainly strong with max cdr but in the rare instances I play Xerath, I don't build any cdr on him except maybe a chalice and try to nearly max it with blue buff + blue elixir.

I don't like Morellonomicon on champs that don't have DoT abilities.
I've actually never liked that item. I guess I don't really have an understanding of what circumstances you would WANT to build it unless it's vs people like Swain or Mundo

I wouldn't mind Rylais on Xerath if I needed the health.
His skillshots are surprisingly easy to land (for me at least) but he also has unnaturally high health scaling for all the free range and armor he gets so I would only really get it vs high mobility or assassin comps.
or something like that....

Well given Morello posted FIVE MONTHD AGO that he'd discuss with live, and nothing ever happened, I'd say this idea is dead in the water.

Probably because it'd be super crazy OP.

Holy shit. This TSM vs V game was the most crazy game I've ever seen. The game lasted 62 minutes with so many big plays.

Seeing Kog chunk 40% HP off of Ezreal in one shot near the end made me feel giddy inside.
