Newbie 1345: Mafia in a Bind (Game Over)

This was a town like any other. At least, it was supposed to be. The two mafiosi cursed as they made their way to the abandoned warehouse near the edge of town. They cursed the wet, and then they cursed the cold. Above all, however, they cursed the town's inhabitants. The two of them had been led to believe that this would be a safe place to conduct business. If it had not been for the little bird who had come along to tweet a warning, they would not have known. There it was, the rusted door. The goon nudged it open, and the two of them stepped inside. They needed to plan quickly. Tomorrow, the townspeople would be gathering to lynch members of the mafia.

3. While this game is running, you may not discuss this game anywhere outside of the game thread unless you have been explicitly allowed to do so.
4. Do not quote any private communication, including game-related PMs, instant messages, and QuickTopics. Quoting time stamps from any private communication is also forbidden. Paraphrasing is allowed.
5. If it is not visible to the naked eye, do not post it. This includes but is not limited to: invisible text, tiny text, encrypted text, and text hidden within tags. For cases of breadcrumbing where you aren't sure, please PM me beforehand.
6. Do not edit or delete your posts.

Activity

1. Prods will be issued to players if they have not posted within a 72-hour period. Players who have been prodded have 48 hours to respond in the game thread before a replacement is sought. For purposes of activity, Saturday and Sunday will be considered a 24-hour period.
2. Players who have been prodded 3 times are subject to replacement without further notice.
3. Players may request that a reminder be sent to a player who has not posted within 48 hours.
4. If you anticipate being away for at least 48 hours, please PM me or post a V/LA notice in the thread with the expected date of your return.

Days and Nights

1. Days will have a deadline of three weeks, and Nights will last 72 hours. Deadline extensions will be granted only in extreme circumstances.
2. Lynches occur through simple majority (50% of living players + 1, rounded down). If no majority is reached at deadline or there is a majority of votes for No Lynch, Day will end without a lynch. Once majority is reached, no further votes or unvotes will count.
3. Votes and vote revocations must be bolded (e.g.,
   Vote: Equinox
   and
   Unvote
   ). Unvotes are preferred but not necessary when switching votes (e.g.,
   Unvote, Vote: No Lynch
   ). Use of the vote tags (e.g., VOTE: Equinox) is optional.
4. All players, including the lynched player, are allowed to talk in twilight phase until the thread is locked, at which point Day ends. Dead players may not post until the game has been officially declared over.
5. Actions not received by deadline will be considered forfeit. Actions may be submitted ahead of time and can be changed as many times as desired; at deadline, the last valid action that was submitted will be used. Actions may be submitted via PM or QuickTopic.

Any situation not covered above will be handled on a case-by-case basis. I reserve the right to add, modify, or remove rules as necessary. I will notify you of any changes in the thread.

Hello everyone, this is my second newbie game i participate. Second and a half game if i count the first game i replaced in and a few days later replaced out because of health issues. I believe to remember that slimer was one of the players in that game, so hi slimer, the only one i recognize =)

I should mention that i'm german and most of my knowledge in english language came through watching subbed animes/english movies and series. Always feel free to correct me in spelling and grammar. I suspect that i will often confuse german and english grammar/sentence-building and hope in playing this game to also to further deepen my understanding of the english language. this means i appreciate positive input about my posts regarding my writing/spelling (minor things please after the game, huge mistakes earlier if possible..) The hardest will be the use of capital and small initial letters, in german we write many words with capital letters and i'm more used to never use any outside of business emails.

Hard to tell who is more likely to be Mafia out of a voodoo lady and a snake, but going on a hunch here.

I have one question so far (since everybody and their cousin uses different rules for this): I understand we need majority for a lynch (as opposed to just who has the most votes at the end of the day). But does the day also immediately end upon majority? The rules kinda seem to imply it, but I'm not 100% sure.

Vote (or how many are needed at that day) the lynch is happening and nobody can unvote. i think the phase between the lynchvote and votecount is called twillight, so after the last vote it's allowed to post until the Mod locks the thread for the night.

Only the first vote is every truly part of RVS. Everything else is a reaction to it in a sense.
And he did give a reason. Regardless of how legitimate it can be, it is a reason. Heck, once the reason had been dissolved he unvoted.
Also, don't think that voting is only used for trying to get a lynch.
