I disagree. What does town gain by making that post? Nothing. What does scum gain by making that post? Appearance of activity.

You say GIF is town because he seems genuine. It seemed like a counterintuitive conclusion to me, so I prodded.

You say town is more like than scum because scum would already know the answer to the question. So the implication in this post is that town would ask the question because they genuinely don't know the answer.

This post you seem to get more conviction in your gut read simply as a result of it being called into question. Now you're saying there's a slew of reasons town could make that post. Plus, you say a town motivation for making the post is that other players (you in this scenario) get a town read from it. Which faction would be more worried about people having town reads on them in the beginning of the game?

tl;dr - Your thoughts on the issue seemed to adjust based on people's reactions.

It's a gut read based on something I can't prove he wasn't faking -- the gut part is that I don't think he was.

And if he is town, there are reasons for him to have done it other than it just being fluff.
