So your main suspicion isn't your highest priority? Interesting. There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

I was not under any suspicion when I said that. Where's the warding?
The defense of it was. You called youself a newb, people questioned it, you continued with the defense of it
↑ Guy_Named_Riggs wrote:Using punctuation as a scum tell. Really?
I used it implicitly to describe an unnatural thought process taking place. That, and it was on page one. What's your point?
What's so unatural of using punctuation? Why was it even brought it up?

Post 98 - arguing semantics about the word after presenting it earlier (Post 97)
↑ Guy_Named_Riggs wrote:Also, Shisou vote came out of nowhere
You obviously did not read the thread thoroughly enough.
You didn't make much of a mention of her prior to your vote. (Besides an FoS) Hence, "out of nowhere"
↑ Guy_Named_Riggs wrote:And the game started five days ago. That's not really "PLENTY of time to provide content." Some people can't be on all the time
People have posted several times in that time span. They posted filler. If they post filler, surely they have time to offer an idea/opinion? I don't see where you're going with this.
I'm saying why waste limited shots on people that have no garuntee of flipping scum?
↑ Guy_Named_Riggs wrote:I understand the theory fine. Though I have to wonder if you do
Cool, so you acknowledge the advantages to vigging a lurker? Because you've failed to refute any of the arguments that I've provided.
See below
↑ Guy_Named_Riggs wrote:PEdit: Why do you think two of the three of us are scum? Or really, why do you think any of us are scum?
Read the thread.
I have been. From what I've seen, you haven't really made a case towards any one person. Most of your suscpicions seem to be on people who are asking you questions
Responses in Bold
↑ kcudz wrote:The problem with vigging scum reads over lurkers is that scum reads are all about perspective. Lurkers are more of a universal issue, per say.
You need to be looking at things through a cost-benefit lens. vigging lurkers are helpful to town because:
1) It eliminates a slot that would otherwise be hard to get a read on,
2) allows Town to turn sights on to other, more pressing prospects,
3) doesn't hurt Town as much as a mis-vig would.
Vigging a scum read is often more fallible and although momentarily satisfying, does not always yield a higher benefit. Vigging the lurkers and/or non-contributers is a safe bet.
1.) Fair enough, but also gets rid of an opportunity for that slot to be replaced and thus be active
2.) We can turn sights elsewhere without shooting a lurker slot
3.) Disagree. See #1
↑ kcudz wrote:↑ fuzzybutternut wrote:Actually, no it doesn't. The only way that would work is if you pegged scum, which is unlikely. Anything else and you're just giving scum an extra kill, which =/= helping town
I have already argued this. And you have evidently not read the game.
If the vig hits scum in a lurker, awesome. Everyone's happy.
If the vig hits town in a lurker, that's still pretty good. Why? Because:
1) It takes out a slot that would be difficult to get a read on.
2) It lessens the pool of potential scum. Town-hunting is harder than scum-hunting.
Keybladewielder isstillan optimal vig target.
1.) See above #1
2.) Yes, it lessens potential scum, but can also waste LIMITED shots. I think town-hunting is easier actually- FuDuzn

1) Conflicting definitions are not alignment indicative.
2) It specifically applied to AP because of his consistency with them. It was brought up because I was asked about it.
3) It's not so much a semantics issue as one that of subjectivity.
4) So what's the bright line? If an FoS isn't adequate in terms of mentioning something scummy, what is? Why does mentioning an FoS then voting him later (with evidence of possible support from PimHel) mean it comes from "out of nowhere"?
5) Why is that different from scum reads? Scum reads are not infallible.
6) Why do I specifically need to construct a case on someone in order to cast suspicion on someone, or justify my vote? Can you elaborate on the ludicrous correlation line you've drawn between my votes and people asking me questions? Why is that important at all? I can point out a few people that have asked me questions that I read as town.- AngryPidgeon

Okay, easy guys. This isn't a personal game, so let's leave personal matters out of it. Scott, that was a pretty terrible misrep. There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

Bolded the bits for you. First, you mention that maybe AP is scum. But after that, you question if he really has done anything scummy. If he's scummy to you, you don't question if he has done something scummy.

So why are you sheeping? Since Bacde has not clearly stipulated a reason to vote me, what is yours?

Ohey. Um. Yeah, the vote was kinda dumb. And I'm stuck now - I didn't have a good reason for it, and if I make up a reason you'll realize it was just made up after the fact, and if I unvote that can also get painted as scummy. Um, as to why I did it, it was some sort of weird gut thingy. Some of your stuff looked slightly odd and I just figured what the hell.- fuzzybutternut

There was nothing weak nor wishy washy there. It was a statement completely unrelated to the game. There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

Anyway about vig theory - the first kill costs us a lynch. The second comes free. Is 2 vig shots worth one lynch? Right now? I'd argue no.
