The Slab

Aaron Griffin was harshly thrusted forwards by his captors until he came to a halt, running directly into the door face first. His nose seemed to crack and blood dripped down his nose and onto his lip, wetting his face with blood. He grunted in blunt pain and started to bring up his shackled hands to wipe his nose, but the gears to his left and his right grabbed him hard by the elbows once again and pulled him from the door so a third gear could step in to open it. Aaron gave the gear a mocking smirk as he walked by, and got a mean punch in the stomach for his trouble. The gears holding him by the elbows didn't help either, they both firmly adjusted their grips so the punch would hurt as much as possible.
The door clicked as the gear turned a set of keys, stepping through the door as he swung open, waiting for Aaron to be brought inside the building by the other two tough gears escorting him. A fourth gear was behind them and entered with them in total silence, carrying a lancer rifle in both hands and a gnasher shotgun over his shoulder. In fact, they all carried lancer rifles and a gnasher shotgun for weapons, except for Aaron of course. The gear who punched him glared at Aaron before turning to walk down a long hallway, leading the group through the dark hallways of the prison after shutting the door behind him. Walking to the front of the group once again, the gear gave Aaron a look after seeing his CEO badge, saying nothing of it. His look was enough.
Aaron was from Char, a large and important city that was torched during the Hammer of Dawn strikes, the same strikes that killed off his workforce. He was the CEO of a large imulsion company before the hammer strikes, and made fortunes from the company, proud of it every day because he worked his whole life on and in it. When it was destroyed during the strikes, he formed his own army to fight the COG and their corrupted leaders, hating them from destroying his life work as a CEO. He became extremely tactless and ruthless, not taking COG prisoners and killing them when captured instead. He didn't dare face the COG in open combat however, instead, he fought them in the shadows, ambushing small convoys while the COG was too strong to actually fight head on. Funny thing, he did just that.
Only a couple days ago, Aaron was captured along with a handfull of his men after failing to carry out a raid on a small COG outpost. He misjudged the garrison there, and accidentally marched his men into a massacre of COG soldiers. He was arrested for war crimes and treason shortly after, and was currently being transported to The Slab, one of the COG's most infamous and maximum security prisons. Unluckily for the COG, the prison itself was becoming unfunctional due to the locust war that damaged the prison in several areas. Unluckily for Aaron, this meant that if the locust attacked the prison, the COG would abandon him to the locust and he would suffer more with them than with the COG. Despite hating the COG, Aaron and them still have mutual enemies.
The group turned left at turn, Aaron being tugged accordingly by the soldier to his left so he would comply. He complied, but reluctantly and tried to be as much of an ass to them as possible, especially considering who they were. He knew who the gears were, or, at least 3 of them. They were from a famous COG family, a family he worked with before on business terms before the locust appeared. The Carmines were a wealthy family that endorsed military enrolment, and Aaron supported the Pendulum Wars since it made him money.
The gear to his left was Benjamin Carmine, the youngest of the family and one of the most enthusiastic. He was the least rough of the three, and was also the least experienced and the weakest in strength. Aaron could probably easily overpower the lad in a fist fight, but he wouldn't dare with the other gears taking him. Even then, Aaron doubted he would be able to outfight Benjamin in any other circumstance, knowing the lad was still more experienced than him in combat. Benjamin might've also been young and still gullible, but he wasn't dumb either.
The gear to his right was Anthony Carmine, one of the younger Carmines but not the youngest. Probably the best shot of the group, Anthony was nearly as enthusiastic as his brother Benjamin, and was better trained and more experienced than him. Anthony was much stronger than Benjamin, and was moderately rough with Aaron, tripping him and punching him when he could. Not to mention that Anthony was unbelievably loyal to the rest of his brothers, and was tough to fool and outsmart in a fight according to Clayton.
Clayton Carmine was the gear in front of Aaron, and was in charge of the escort. Clayton was very muscular and was the oldest of the brothers, being a long time veteran of the military. The man was a tower, tall and strong, fast and swift, and very intimidating. He was ruthlessly mean to Aaron, hurting him at the smallest sign of resistance or disobeyance. Throughout his life, Clayton built a deep hatred for the Locust, the biggest Aaron has ever seen, and he knew very well that Clayton disliked the stranded for hurting and killing his fellow gears.
The fourth gear behind Aaron he didn't know, the Carmines barely talked to him, but Aaron could tell the guy was a private, a low rank among the rest of the Carmines.
During their walk through the hallways, Aaron truly realized how harsh the prison was, and learned the hard way that nobody joked when they said it was the most intimidating of them all. The halls were dark and eerie, and were lit only by the very dimmest of lights, most of whom stopped working long time ago. The cells were mostly empty, but the doors weren't barred and instead were hard steel doors with only one small slint to look through. He even realized that the cell rooms were pitch dark inside when closed, a feature he wasn't fond of in the slightest.
But what really bothered him, was how disfunctional and fragmented the prison was. Ever since the locust came, the COG put little funding into the prison, and when the locust would attack the prison, they had no resources to spare to repair the damage caused. All of the money and resources went to the actual fight, maintaining a prison where convicts were being conscripted was of minor importance. As a result, there were many holes, gunshot holes, and scorch marks in the walls, as well as rusted doors, faulted ceilings, and the hygiene of a rat. Aaron estimated that the Prison was on its last hinges, because he barely saw any convict in the cells, and even fewer guards. The prison might as well have been abandoned for ages.
" Where the fuck is everyone? " Aaron finally murmured out loud, tugging at Anthony and Benjamin so that he would get an answer for once. The two got annoyed and Anthony responded by punching him in the gut for tugging, and pulled Aaron forward when he staggered from the punch. Nonetheless, Clayton kept walking and actually answered the question when Aaron evidently stopped his grunting.
" Not here. Most convicts have been conscripted, and the state of the prison is in no place for a fully operational staff and guard dispatchment ".
" Then why the hell are you putting me here? "
Clayton chuckled at that, not even stopping to turn around, keeping his pace in front of Aaron as if they weren't even talking. He didn't eve as much as glance back at Aaron, who sure as hell didn't find that funny, but probably still knew that Clay didn't REALLY find it funny, but was simply toying with him.
" This is the perfect place for you. As a stranded scum, you're used to these kinds of conditions. "
That shut Aaron up. It wasn't anything new, but the comment came across as sharp and cruel to Aaron, who lowered his gaze to the floor in offence, wanting to lash out in rage at the muscular gear, even if he would get squashed if he tried.
They traveled for a minute or two longer before leaving the interior of the cellblock and stepping into a vast courtyard. Aaron slowly turned his gaze to Anthony and asked the gear as nicely as he could so as to avoid getting punched again in the gut.
" Where are we now? "
Looking at Aaron for a second, Anthony decided to actually answer the question instead of being an ass the whole day.
" A courtyard, dividing two cell blocks. You're going to the one across this one. "
" Great.. " murmured Aaron in an annoyed tone.
The courtyard was littered with a couple of trees and several stones scattered everywhere, some tall some small. It wasn't a very small courtyard either, it stretched out for a decent amount. On the other side was the entrance of Aarons cell block, behind them was an old cell block they already passed, and around was a bunch of tall walls that formed the compound of the courtyard. The walls were intimidating, even if they were old, weared down, and full of holes. Aaron saw no Gears stationed anywhere either.
However, what followed, was the probably the most adrenaline pumping minutes of not only his life, but also for everyone there. The group was walking through the courtyard when an alarm was sounded, sending the four gears with Aaron into full alert mode. They flipped off their safety switched on theirs rifles and started to run for Aarons cell block, heading for the cover of the building. In the distance, a locust horn was sound, sending spine chilling shivers through their backs.
Halfway to the cell block, they paused for a second when the unnamed fourth gear in the back of the group crumpled to the ground under the impact of a well placed sniper round. They turned around to witness what just happened, and saw that the gear was sniped through the head and dropped the gear in an instant. When they looked for the killer, they spotted a locust sniper positioned on the eastern wall of the courtyard. Anthony and Benjamin let go of Aarons elbows to open fire at the sniper along with Clayton, assuming that Aaron was on their side, and that he was harmless with his shackles on. But they were gravely wrong. Shortly after they opened fire, Clayton instructed them to take cover, and just when Clay barrel rolled to the safety of a tall boulder, Aaron made his move while he still had the chance.
With Benjamin still on his left and Anthony on his right, Aaron quickly betrayed the two in a series of punches and smacks. Smashing his right elbow into Anthony's face, he threw the gear backwards off balance and quickly swung his shackled hands to the left to punch Benjamin before he could retaliate. Bringing his hands back again for a second round, Aaron hit Benjamin again but this time across the right side of his face so he could get the gear to bend over a just a bit. Reaching over, Aaron grabbed Ben's holstered snub pistol and took him hostage just as Anthony brought up his lancer at Aaron.
All the meanwhile, Clayton was fighting off the locust from behind his cover. He only realized that his two brothers were betrayed a bit too late. Anthony was now aiming down Aaron who had Benjamin hostage, a drawn pistol placed against the bottom of the poor lads chin. The standoff lasted half a minute, before Clayton realized it, and he turned his attention promptly to them to try and work it out. The stranded ganglord was furious because of their continuous abuse of him, and now revenge tasted sweet in his mouth. Outnumbered three to one, Aaron saw nothing wrong in his tricks, even with the locust approaching.
Still pressing his back against a rock he took cover behind, Clayton shouted for Anthony to take cover because they were all out in the open, with the exception of himself. The locust were invading the prison and were taking position on the walls, reavers flying over them and drones propelling down on the edges of the eastern wall. What other guards were at the prison were either fleeing or evacuating already. With Aaron still taking Ben hostage and Anthony trying to negotiate for his brothers life, Clayton had to do something.
Claytons wails weren't enough however, he wanted to do something but he was pinned down by locust suppressing fire, and if he tried to shoot at Aaron he could kill his brother Benjamin. Instead, the locust opened fire at them in more precise manner now that they were closer and had a better shot, and surely enough Anthony screamed in pain as a bullet ruptured through his right knee, sending him down to his knees in total pain. Meanwhile, Aaron took the opening to point his pistol from Benjamin at Anthony before he took the shot, sending a good bullet through Anthony's head and splattering a carpet of blood across the rocky ground.
Screaming at the top of his lungs, Benjamin quickly wrapped his arms around Aaron's extended right arm that he used to shoot Anthony before he could bring it back to Benjamins head and use him as a hostage against Clayton. In fury of his brothers death, Benjamin twisted Aarons arm until the stranded ganglord screamed in pain and dropped the gun in defeat, pressing his left arm against Benjamins back in a natural response to the hold.
Now angry himself, Aaron wrapped his left arm around Benjamins neck and tried to choke him out with whatever strength he had in him. This was partly because he didn't want to die, but also because Clayton was now aiming at the two of them. With Aaron trying to choke out Benjamin with his left arm and Benjamin still gripping Aaron's right arm, Clayton had no clear shot, and was left to decide on pressure alone.
The locust were now directly among them, and Clayton made the life and death decision to open fire for Aaron's head. But he wasn't as good or precise of a shot as Anthony, and when Aaron brought Benjamin's head up slightly, Clayton unfortunately shot through his own brothers throat and lower head. Somewhat fortunately for him, the rest of the bullets rang true when they pierced through several parts of Aaron's head. Aaron was the first to fall over and die, letting go of Ben and crashing to the ground flat on his back. All the while, Benjamin fell to his knees, clutching his throat in pain. Soon enough though, the young soldier bled out from the wounds and flattened in front of Clayton, who was shedding tears for his brother.
At that point however, the locust already descended on the vulnerable Clayton, who could do little to fend off the horde of wretches that came with the locust advance. He just lost both of his brothers in quick succession, and the whole drama prevented him from dealing with the locust. When they descended on him, he managed to cut open the throat of a single wretch in a swing of his chainsaw bayonet, but he was thrown off balance when the rest of the wretches overwhelmed him. Limb by limb, Clayton was torn apart by the dog like creatures.

PeregrineV was crippled and shot down Night 3, he was Private Anthony Carmine ( Vanilla Townie ) of the COG
Anthony Carmine is a part of the long line of Carmine Brothers, and a part of the Carmine family. Along with his brothers, he joined the military as soon as he could, and served alongside the millions of gears during E-Day and fought with them for all he could. A history buff, Anthony knew a lot about the Pendulum Wars and idolizes people like Marcus Fenix as his heroes. His ecstatic and enthusiastic personality contributes to his war effort, and makes him an easily loveable person in everyone's eyes. He is also a very hard working soldier that doesn't find war as a job but as a test or game, making him more confident than others. Specializing in some of the more longer range encounters, using long range rifles and sniper rifles, Anthony provides for whatever squad he is put into quite efficiently.
Havingfitz was used as a meatshield and shot Night 3, he was Private Benjamin Carmine ( Vanilla Townie ) of the COG
Benjamin Carmine was the youngest of the long line of Carmine brothers, and a part of the large Carmine family. Benjamin was a hyper and reckless gear who was a rookie in the military due to his age. Joining, he was coached for a brief period before being sent directly to the frontline's. Due to his lack of experience, however, he wasn't a battle hardened soldier like his fellow peers and made frequent mistakes and small errors that usually endanger him from time to time. However, he has a lot of heart and pride that drive him into being a ferocious gear with little room for surrender or sign of giving up. Sticking with his squadmates, he always works the hardest to get the job done, to set an example, and most of all, to try his very best.
borkjerfkin was shot several times through the head Night 3, he was CEO Aaron Griffin ( Mafia Ninja ) of the Stranded Insurgency
Aaron Griffin was originally the CEO of a large imulsion company before the locust wars, holding great power of wealth and influence in the large city of Char. After the hammer strikes, Aaron's influence, wealth, and power has crumbled completely away with his entire work force. The locust wars inflicted more damage on his enterprise than the Pendulum Wars and destroyed all of the hard work he put into his company over his life. Enraged, Aaron became the ruthless and tactless stranded bandit lord of the stranded settlements in Char, and until his last breath he wishes to destroy the human assholes that destroyed his life and his life work. He understands what it means to be a leader and rules his little Stranded kingdom like a true king, installing the right amount of fear, respect, and love. Thing is, Aaron is a slick and mean talker, and he usually sends powerful grunts to carry out his bidding, never leaving any trace to himself.
PirateCat was ripped apart Night 3, he was Private Clayton Carmine ( Vanilla Townie ) of the COG
Clayton Carmine is the oldest member of the long line of Carmine brothers, and a part of the Carmine family. As the oldest member of his family, Clayton gained a large abundance of experience and training before any of his other brothers, and even joining the military the day he was eligible to do so. During the war, Clayton played many major parts that aided with the victory of many battles, and served alongside some of the largest heroes of the war during the time. Furious with the locust, Clayton develops a particular monumental hatred for the locust that outmatches any other, and uses it as a drive to slaughter every locust living, whether it's with a weapon or his bare hands.
