levi kind of reads as town
you are not a newb and neither is fflhawk or I think nickcage. I don't go by join date. <--- you guys are who I am going to be looking at
↑ mrbungle wrote:Look at the 3 posts before Pirate's... they are pretty obviously all "joke" posts and it would be so easy and honestly pretty natural for a townie to continue on with the joking. (joking refers to me asking if anyone is town) Then mr pirate comes in with this enthusiastic "hi guys!" The problem I have with that is that it looks like he's wanting to portray himself as this friendly and outgoing townie, yet I don't get that feeling at all because of a few reasons:
1. he afk'd out of the thread since that post
2. he didn't participate in my "are you town" circle jerk line of questioning, which I would expect him to if he really is this friendly/enthusiastic townie
3. he didn't even participate in the random voting (I know I've said I loathe rvs, but it would be better than nothing at all which is what pirate's provided)
Pirate = guy who gave the appearance of being friendly, eager to play, etc etc.... yet he's contributed nothing and he wasn't actually all that friendly.

yeah, of course not. but since there is nothing to go on this early in the game, you have to start somewhere. even if you ask a question with an obvious answer you can still get valuable information based on how they answer. for example, his response was "I am town." That's sorta a null response for me, or maybe slightly scummy. There's no emotion in that response... a more townie response might have contained emotion/humor/etc.
Being a newbie and asking a ton of questions is fine, but is there anyone you think might be mafia so far?

lol i've already explained my reasoning for my vote.... you should read the thread. see post #35. points #2 and 3 in that post are the reason I voted. admittedly those 2 points are fairly weak, but there's also point #1 which came after my vote. and even now, after he's posted a few more times, he's still being completely useless. pirate's given a few town reads but any scum can easily do that.apparently he's not suspicious of anything which is a good indicator that he could be mafia.
↑ mrbungle wrote:Well yeah they're over the top, but you have to start somewhere. actually right now i could care less about any of the initial reasons I had for voting pirate based on his "hi guys" post, and now I'm mainly concerned with how he hasn't done anything to move the game forwards. he gave out some town reads, but that does not help the discussion.
(so pirate, next time you post I would like to see you either giving some scumreads or at least making an attempt to get some)

what is also impressive at this point is that you have studiously avoided nacho's "will be back" post. like you are literally saying nothing about it. looks like scum avoidance to me. is nacho your scummate?

What do you mean by that? Are you suspicious of us because you think we are experienced?
and no, i don't buy the stuff about this post.....
......being a reaction test. that is complete bs. you're claiming that your strategy was to post something that was intentionally scummy, and then call me scum if I think it's scummy........ if I call something scummy which, you INTENDED to look scummy? did you not realize how counterproductive and useless that is?
as far as me citing you afk'ing from the thread after your "hi" post, that is NOT something I originally voted you for, that part of my suspicion has come after the fact. I have already stated this in a previous post.
Your post does nothing to help my perception of your play. When I read your defense, I do not get the idea that you really think I'm scum, all I see is that you're mad at me because I called you mafia.
That stuff about nacho was a ridiculously cheap shot
LOL are you serious? How many other people have avoided mentioning that post.... ALL OF THEM? Are they all his scummates? What about the people who haven't posted yet, who I have also failed to call out? Am I also scum with all of them? According to the standards you're imposing with that ridiculous accusation, like 7 people are scum. Like... I'm honestly shocked that you're using that argument.
↑ mrbungle wrote:also ms pirate, in case you're town there's a few things I should probably mention first:
I'm used to games with 48 hour day cycles so from MY experience, behavior such as saying "hello" and then afk'ing for a few hours is generally a good scumtell. I can already see that I'm going to have to alter how I get reads so if you're town then just bear with me
Also, because of the 48hr day cycles we used on other sites, it was important that people started making cases early and often even if there's almost nothing to go on. So if I seem over-eager, that might be why

Although you answered mrbungle, I still don't understand what you meant.
when I talked about how you giving town reads as being scummy, I did NOT mean that giving a town read is a scummy thing to do. It IS a scummy thing to do, when that's all that you're doing. And that WAS all that you were doing.
So far I'm not convinced that you *really* think I'm scum. It seems like your posts come from you being mad that I've called you scum, whether you're mad town or mad scum. All I've seen is a fake-vote, and a bunch of points attacking the only person who has actively tried to advance the discussion. You may not like how I'm advancing the discussion because it's centered around you, but that's just tough cookies. And is fcuking page 3 of D1, so any case or suspicion is almost guaranteed to be based on nonsense. But the discussion must start somewhere. I can't exactly get a read on you by just ignoring you, can I?
regardless of all of that i'd much rather see what other people have to say about our discussion rather than us continuing the actual discussion itself. you're probably town anyways since atm you're really the only other person in here who looks like they give a damn.

not sure how you are not understanding what I meant. can you clarify what it is you are confused about?
Hmm, well, good move. It seemed to have worked. In post 49, NicCage wrote: I was voting myself mainly as a joke, since my vote would have been random anyway I thought it would be a funnier way to respond to mrbungle's question. I also thought it might be possible to get some information from people's reactions to my self-vote.
how has it worked? if you have thoughts about that or anything else then share them, otherwise there is nothing to talk about and mrbungle loses his mindIn post 72, gene1991 wrote:Hmm, well, good move.
