No, it's not enough. This player list is what it is, though. In post 1048, VisceraEyes wrote:I mean, the pitfalls of playing in a slow-moving environment being used to a fast-moving one amirite?
To be fair though, that may be another reason that I have a townread on you whether it should be or not - how you always seem to BE here. It would be really easy for you to FAKE interest in the game as scum in this way, but because you're like, the ONLY other person who's around as much as I am that doesn't even matter to me.
So essentially I'm putting all my eggs in the townFferyllt basket, foolishly. But, as we're both finding, that's not enough is it?
Re eggs and baskets, if we're both town, mutual paranoia will set in soon enough.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

I'll be sure to ask your permission before I change my mind hereafter. In post 1030, fferyllt wrote: You were dead set againt lynching Z7 yesterday.
Actually finding scum Day 1 is sorta hard. I'd rather get rid of people who I think are going to help the least in the future. Every single thing about my case on GM could be "GM is just being a terrible player," but how much of that is true for basically every single case that anyone makes today? There's no flips. There's no night power information. There's just people's posts and the vote history. If you feel someone is scum just based on that, it must be because what they're saying and how their voting isn't sufficiently Towny to you. Every single thing that a player could post could just be the player being bad and thinking that it helps them as Town and it's just taken the wrong way. Town gets lynched Day 1 all the time because scum can claim power roles, town is reluctant to lynch someone there's no hard evidence on that claims power, and you move on to someone who claims truthfully as VT and lynch them, and wait for more power role information to contradict the first person. It happens nearly every single time with scum that have any clue how to play. Thus, I feel the best shot for Town is to get rid of the least helpful people. To me, that's someone who has shown time and again they have absolutely no interest in actually following people's arguments or even bothering to read what they're saying. I'm sure most of the players in this game stopped reading this paragraph a long time ago because it's long and complicated and develops ideas that are beyond their mental capacity. If you made it this far, congratulations. Now I'm going to make it look like this paragraph is even longer by artificially adding a sentence to the end of it.And your two players you are willing to lynch today, you can totally see their play as terribad town.
Go ahead and lynch me for what I just said. I don't care. If you don't agree with my assessment, oh well. At least I'm being honest.- fferyllt

So if that's the case EU then why do you feel like I fit that criteria? Have I not shown that I'm absolutely willing to "follow arguments" and "read what you're saying"? In what way am I less helpful to town than Mac?
Your reasoning makes very little sense in the context of who you're suspicious of. Mac has twice now had to apologize for "misreading" something I've said, and was blatantly misrepresenting my play as soon as I replaced in. How is he "more helpful for town" than someone who rereads a 30+ page game OVERNIGHT for the SOLE PURPOSE of having meaningful conversation regarding the lynch?ShowIn your Viscera Eyes

When you said it, it made me generally reconsider the entire game. It was a moment when I realized there was more to what goes on in the game than what gets said in thread, there's the entire stories being played in other people's heads that you're only catching vague glimpses of. People can change their mind because they had a stressful day at work, or because someone makes a tpyo/In post 1054, fferyllt wrote:Eye, that's the first genuine out loud laugh this thread has given me in longer than I can remember. Such is conventional wisdom. Scum don't always do the conventional thing night 1, though my experience so far at MS has been pretty conventional. Except for my own newbie scum game. We set the cat amongst the pigeons night 1.In post 1052, VisceraEyes wrote:Nah, surely one of us will die if we're both town. But, it's why town needs more of a core than 2 players trying to work together. Otw it's starting from scratch on day 2 if scum want things that way.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

I'm playing as transparently as I know how. An insight like that shared in the game thread would go a long way toward helping other town players find you town.In post 1056, Eye Urn wrote:

Ugh, just caught up with the last 5 pages or so after I went to sleep last night, ISO'd Mac and had something to eat . Basically, I don't get the feeling that Mac hasn't done anything, sure he's only put 3 votes down (one being the RVS), but I get the feeling that he's been actually discussing things. I'm way more upset about his hypocrisy about meta with dismissing a case about GM based on meta, but basing his own defense purely on meta. Still, I'd rather lynch GM.In post 938, VisceraEyes wrote:I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on a Mac lynch versus a GM lynch.
This is, it's only a townie post if you (Carey) are not scum, otherwise GM is just trying to protect his scum buddy. This was part of why I was suspicious of your slot.In post 904, VisceraEyes wrote:Post 90 - GM
Townie post. I can't see scum unvoting someone for that reason - more likely to keep their vote on and call it pressure to post...especially with the current sentiment against lurkers at this point in the game.
After all this discussion, you've moved up a lot in my eyes, null leaning town I'd guess. Basically I was basing my case against you on of your (by your own admittance) weak case on Z, plus GM/Carey interactions that I feel could mean they're (you're?) scumbuddies. Guess I was rubbing some of my GM suspicions down on you/Carey.In post 972, VisceraEyes wrote:Do you know where he stands on me presently? Do you know if he actually thinks GM is scum?
Ditto, I feel GM is scum, and I had a pretty strong feel that you were her buddy. I jumped off because you were both on my scumpile, but GM seems scummier, so I'd rather lynch her, but you were closest to a lynch and we were pretty close to deadline. Once a GM lynch possibility opened up, I switched my vote there. In post 980, VisceraEyes wrote:At least he did something about it. Deras was just hopping onboard town sentiment. And hopped off just as quickly.
Overall I'd still rather lynch GM, then AA9. The only one I'd rather not lynch is ff. The others I might compromise depending on how good the argument against them is.- Eye Urn

I think people are reading too much into what I said about who I'd consider being lynched. The people I consider the most Townie are those that have posted things time and again that have apparently read my mind. That is, they are putting into words things that I am thinking about and not mentioning. GM wants me to believe they aren't town, but I don't know how else to reconcile it. I'm not saying it's impossible that they're scum, but that they have played in a manner so consistent with my own Towniness I have no reason to doubt them. The people in the middle, well, I'm not getting the same sort of feeling about. In post 1055, VisceraEyes wrote:So if that's the case EU then why do you feel like I fit that criteria? But because they're being useful and adding their arguments, I generally wouldn't. Don't think that because it's conceivable that I'd vote for someone that I'm actually considering it.If a good enough argument were made- VisceraEyes

All I have to work with is what you say. You said you could lynch me, and that you WILL NOT lynch Mac. I think Mac is scum. And I KNOW I'm town. You can see how your refusal to comment on my points against Mac because....I don't even know why...is a problem for me yes?ShowIn your Viscera Eyes

reactive game and survivor tells, mostly.
After she replaced in, I read a scum game of hers where she claimed beloved princess and threatened a town loss if she was lynched. That sort of gambit wouldn't work in the newbie games, but the scum easter egg hunt might have flown in a more gullible crowd. That's pretty much a long shot, though.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

I most assuredly will not.In post 1002, ArcAngel9 wrote:GM must go first.!!!
Point it out again? This thread grew by 5 pages while I was in class and I have no idea what post you're talking about. Apparently I missed it while reading. In post 1025, Mac wrote:...waiting on GM's replies to an earlier post before I decide if she's worthy of today's lynch.
What does this even mean? There has been an incredible amount of (false!) ad hominem slung in this thread and it's getting irritating. In post 1026, Eye Urn wrote:Unlike GM, I don't care what other people think about me.

2. Just because I use gut and meta does not make me a bad player, a scummy player, or an anti-Town player. Just because I occasionally miss things in thread just means I'm not a robot. I'm human. Humans miss things and humans make mistakes.

4. I would not have been approved to IC if I were that horrible.
@EVERYONE: That Fe is more willing to lynch fffff than he is to lynch Mac or even Rev should speak volumes to anyone who's even glanced at this game.
I have the same feelings about everyone as before.
