You thought that a game this size with an innocent child would probably not have a protective role because of balance issues. How does a bodyguard fit into that?

do you understand that i had only 1shot? and how do you think ORC would know what is the game setup, this is not open game setup to tell you how many power roles are already in..

Bork already mentioned in the main page that this game is based on Normal setup..
that means.... all the following roles are possible...

Roles which are explicitly Normal include:
Vanilla Townie, Sane Cop, Doctor, Vigilante, Roleblocker, Mason, Innocent Child, Jailkeeper, Tracker, Watcher, Gunsmith, Miller, Bodyguard, Role Cop, Doublevoter, Hider, Neighbor, Neighborizer, Jack of All Trades, Serial Killer, Mafia Encryptor, Mafia Strongman, Mafia Goon, Mafia Traitor, Mafia Godfather, Mafia-aligned or SK-aligned versions of above roles

A Bodyguard is a role who can target a player at Night to protect them. However, if the protected player is supposed to be killed, the Bodyguard is killed instead ("taking the bullet" for them, as it were).

Bodyguard only protects from a single kill. If multiple people try to kill the Bodyguard's target, both the Bodyguard and the protected player will die.

Bodyguard is usually Town. It makes little sense for there to be a Mafia Bodyguard, as they have no reason to target anyone except a scumpartner; and a Vigilante who finds that their kill resolved on a different scum than they expected can simply shoot their previous target again

That's one variant of the role, and I think it's the most common one.

I was curious because you said you were a one shot bodyguard, not a bodyguard. Which made me wonder if you were a different variant, weakened by the one shot.

For what it's worth, I asked bork and he said that PGO was "gray listed" in that it wasn't listed in the roles possible or barred in normal games. So ACTUALLY, it's possible for a PGO to be in this game. Bork can confirm that too when he gets his lazy ass online.

Svenskt obviously had severe misgivings about our PGO claim from the minute he read it during twilight night 1. However, his town read on us recovered from it.

That was pretty much my own reaction to the case you built on him on day 2 after I let it soak. "yeah, yeah, but I really trust my towndar this time."

When he claimed 1 shot BP it all fell together - why our role claim freaked him out the way it did. And that's why Jake came into this game with a solid town read from me and why it will take something just about unimaginable to change it.

I think Orcinus is nearly as (if not equally) confident as I am on this read now.
